They are simultaneously organized, punctual, and efficient while still personable, patient, and communicative. Each time I needed support and advice, they gave detailed and individualized recommendations, also emailing recs for convenience and following up with a phone call a few days later.
When I was out of town for a month, my cat became sick and they worked hand in hand with my mom to give her the care and attention she needed. I full heartedly believe Dr Mitchell and all the staff here (in addition to my mom) are the only reason I got to see my cat again upon my return. I can never thank them enough for that. Putting her down was a hard decision, but their guidance, empathy, and focus on quality of life aided in those difficult decisions.
Thank you for all that you guys do. Should I ever adopt another animal in the future, I know where I will be taking them for care. ❤

Oakley can be a little reactive around other dogs, so it was really important to us to have walkers who understood that, took the time to learn her habits, and let her get comfortable with them. Every walker we worked with did exactly that, and we always felt like she was in good hands.
They were also incredibly reliable. If our regular walker was ever unavailable, Urban Tailz was almost always able to find someone else to fill in, which made things so much easier for us.
Great people, dependable service, and a team that genuinely takes the time to get to know your dog. We’d absolutely recommend Urban Tailz!

I ordered a dozen and when I went to go pick them up, they were all on the drier side which was really disappointing but they still tasted alright. I was really excited because I had high expectations like the first time, but I was a bit disappointed. They tasted like a leftover/old batch. This time around though, they tasted absolutely amazing! I was skeptical at first, but they didn’t disappoint at all. They were so soft and I truly missed how they tasted. I hope the consistency of these donuts remain the same. I highly recommend to anyone! My favorite is the chocolate glazed :)

2131 W Berwyn Ave, ChicagoBest place on earth to volunteer and adopt. The shelter is cageless, so cats roam free all over the house. You can come over to play, pet, brush, cuddle the cats almost every day. Their events are also super fun, like kitten yoga! Best place on earth :)

2410 West Lunt Avenue, ChicagoRed Door was amazing! Their bunny speed dates worked so well and made it the easiest bunny bonding experience I’ve ever had. My two bunnies hit it off right away and have stayed loving ever since. We still separated them for the first two weeks when not supervised just to be on the safe side but they never did anything concerning. The staff truly care about their animals and finding a forever home for their pets. I can’t recommend them enough! Thanks for all you do!

624 W Belmont Ave, ChicagoI truly wanted to just keyboard smash while typing this because that's the only way to express how precious and wonderful this experience is! Getting to play with and pet the kitties while their new forever home people came to pick them up was delightful. Very healing and soothing, and fun to meet the other folks who made reservations for the same hour. Everything was so clean and pristine, and the cats are clearly well cared for and adored by the staff. 1000/10, this is a uniquely lovely place to stop by for cat enjoyers and people looking to adopt or donate to a good cause. *Edited to add some photos of a few of the kitties

Eight years ago, they brought our sweet Olive into our lives, and she became one of the greatest loves of our family. After losing her this summer, we eventually found ourselves back and this time, they helped us find Aspen. 🥹
Samantha and Grace were absolutely wonderful throughout the entire process. They were kind, patient, and genuinely focused on helping us find the right dog for our family rather than rushing us into an adoption. We felt supported every step of the way, and it was so clear how much they care about both their animals and the families adopting them.
I also really appreciate their adoption process. It’s thoughtful and thorough while still feeling welcoming, and their facility is incredibly clean and well cared for. You can tell how much work and love goes into giving these animals the best possible environment while they wait for their families.
Eight years, two incredible dogs, and two beautiful experiences. We will always be grateful to Felines & Canines for bringing both Olive and Aspen into our lives. ❤🐾

One Tail at a Time - Adoption Center
2144 North Wood Street, ChicagoI fostered a dog through OTAT for the first time, ever. After looking through their dogs up for foster, I found one that fit the characteristics I knew would be the proper fit for me and my boyfriend. We needed a dog that was sweet, playful amd great with other dogs, since our resident dog loves to play! I picked up my foster and knew she had an injury in her sad past. That was fine for me, as long as she was comfortable and not in pain. A few days after having her, I reached out to make sure she didn't have to be on movement restrictions, as I live on the top floor of my building and my resident dog has a rough and tumble play style. An email was sent to me to make a vet appointment for my foster to check her out and make sure she wasn't in pain. She had x rays taken, and was put on some joint supplements to help her. Time after time, when I had a question, a doubt or needed some support, I was met with compassion and patience. Since I was new to fostering in general and new to OTAT, I had a lot of questions about next steps, how things worked, etc. And was always met with kindness. I can tell that the volunteers and staff members care about animals, appreciate fosters and just want what is best for all. OTAT supplied me with nearly everything (I bought a couple little things, like a poop bag holder and a ball since she loves squeak toys and a toy's squeaker broke due to our resident dog) I needed. It's been four months that I've fostered her and I am continually astonished by how genuine everyone is. They also knew she'd been in my care for quite some time and therefore, reached out to me to post her on socials. It is quite a community at OTAT and I am so grateful for all of their help! I know working in non-profit can be hard in many ways, but that considered I still felt like their care and coordination of fostering was seamless, communicative, easy and helpful. There are (unfortunately!) Many animals in need of homes in Chicago, but I am so glad that OTAT is here to help! If you're thinking of fostering or adopting (or both!) I would definitely check them out as their services and assistance are top notch.

Harmony House For Cats

Doggy Paddle Aquatic Center For Dogs
1430 West Willow Street, ChicagoSuch a wonderful place! Took my golden here for a treat as he loves to swim! They have different levels of swim classes from beginner to experienced. You can also choose solo swims or group swims. “Gunnar” loves the group swim where he gets to goof around with his friends and play with the plethora of toys they have for the dogs to enjoy. After the swim, they have showers and dryers so your car doesn’t smell like wet dog! A lovely place with lovely staff!

LAST KISS At Home Pet Euthanasia And Cremation Services
3674 N Elston Ave, ChicagoNothing but good things to say about this company. My 17 year old cat Vigo's health took a turn for the worse rapidly. Andy was able to fit me in right away. The Dr came to my house and was fantastic. I was skeptical on in home euthanasia but I am glad I used them. The urn and paw print turned out better than I could have imagined. 100 percent will be using them again in future
