My story starts out with my Dog Blue a 6 year old Blue Nose Bully who’s tooth got Chipped after being attacked few months back during an unprovoked dog attack by my neighbors dog Max . the owner Kenny who never seemed to be able to control his dog or contain his dog in his yard or apartment it broke through the fence multiple times, and even the screen door was busted from his dog .This was Kenny who never trained his dog or even taken to a vet for its shots the dog was always starving hungry look like his ribs were showing all the time. Very sad situation . Unfortunately, his girlfriend died from OD and he basically went and started partying and selling drugs basically I lived next to a trap house and the owner kenny abused his dog and used the dog for keeping the police And would be burglars from coming into his apartment ! So I continued monitoring the tooth until I noticed When I was brushing his teeth the pain along with discoloration In the tooth Started to turn black and his lips nodes under the jaws were swollen . My neighbor said that he would help with the veterinarian bills if I didn’t call the police as well as my hospital bills because I was injured as well by his dog . Anyway My dog was in a tremendous amount of pain he could not to go out without being attacked by the neighbor’s dog and the landlord wouldn’t do anything, My dog couldn’t even eat his favorite food or treats . I had to do something I could tell He was in pain so I called the hospital told them my situation and they got me in ASAP two hours and surgery two hours to recovery and my boy was back on his feet again. Though he is very shook up highly reactive with other dogs who are aggressive now .😢 luckily I was able to pay the $1000 to have that tooth extracted and got his other teeth cleaned. plus they gave him a nice cocktail for the pain and he was sleeping like a baby after surgery . The staff was very professional and attentive to his needs, and my questions were answered. I feel very confident in the establishment and Professional,and friendliness of the staff was above and beyond !
Highly recommend their services and i guess the prices were reasonable for the services provided seemed expensive at the time to have one tooth pulled but it turns out there are no veterinarian dentist in the Chicago area so what choice did I have let him suffer and keep me awake all night crying ? I recommend people not to get big dogs if they’re not going to spend the time and need to train them or pay to have someone train them for them to prevent situations like this from happening. 👍

They have been fantastic every time I've used them. They send pictures of each step and of your pet and it's reassuring to get daily messages about how Gracie is doing (always a bit grumpy) and seeing her food and water bowls clean and her litter box taken care of. The level of communication and transparency is also fantastic; those seem increasingly rare these days, so I value them highly.

Back To Basics Dog Training

We came into our private training lessons with Jenn overwhelmed with our reactive and highly distractible Pyrenees Bobbi. Our previous training gave us a foundation for basics but was not helping us or Bobbi with her reactivity and excitement around other dogs. Jenn patiently worked with us and Bobbi and since the completion of our training Bobbi has steadily improved her calmness around other dogs and attentiveness towards us on walks. Months ago we couldn't even think about walking past another dog on the same sidewalk because Bobbi would jump at any dog she saw, not to be aggressive, but to play. She would lock onto dogs across the street and lay down which was frustrating when we were trying to walk her on a time crunch, she pulled like a freight train even with corrective harnesses, and would completely ignore us. Jenn gave us the tools to manage these issues and now we don't dread walks anymore. She is much more attentive to us, and mostly ignores dogs that are across the street or farther away, which is insane considering she used to lay down for dogs a block away from us. Jenn gave us some redirection tools that allow us to easily re-route her now when we see potential issues with other dogs arise, and we have also gotten her pulling much more under control. If Jenn and Wen were able to help us and our crazy pup, I'm confident they can help you as well!

From the very beginning, all of the staff have been kind and professional and answered all my questions quickly through email. Gracie’s trainers, Ty and Kyle, have been absolutely wonderful. They have been so patient, compassionate, and understanding of her unique needs. Gracie can be nervous and reactive, so finding people who truly take the time to understand her and work at her pace has meant so much to us.
I received thorough updates and photos of Gracie’s progress throughout the week. It was so wonderful and encouraging to see Gracie blossom and gain confidence as time went on. Her training has given her the tools to navigate situations that would normally be overwhelming for her. Gracie went from not being able to see or pass a dog without reacting defensively out of fear, to actually making friends with other dogs, including relaxing on the couch without a muzzle next to her new friend Yellow. I’m so happy with how far Gracie has come with the help and love from her trainers. Just as importantly, they’ve given me the knowledge and support to better understand her and help her succeed by continuing her training at home.
I’m incredibly grateful for everything they’ve done for Gracie and for me. They genuinely care about the dogs they work with, and it shows in everything they do. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for patient, compassionate, and truly exceptional trainers.

Soba is leash reactive to other dogs, but her walkers have been fantastic in handling her big feelings. The team is also always so quick to respond to any questions and share any changes to the normal schedule (i.e., if our normal walker isn’t available, holiday reminders). While we’ve primarily used them for walking, they were able to help me with pet sitting when I couldn’t get Soba to boarding for a last minute trip. We especially love the detailed communication we receive every day. It’s so helpful to get real-time updates on when Athena arrives and leaves, including a GPS map of the exact route they took. The daily report—letting us know about potty breaks, how well-behaved she was, and the treats she received—is such a thoughtful touch. Plus, getting 3–5 photos after every walk is always the highlight of our workday!

Anything Is Pawzible
3358 N Pulaski Rd, ChicagoThis review is long overdue so my apologies to the team at Anything Is Pawzible. We rescued a reactive toddler Great Dane in the fall and were immediately in over our heads. He had no manners and had never been trained before. The poor guy didn't understand the expectations of him! He lived outside in his previous home due to his mischievousness. We contacted Rendy right away after searching for the best R+ trainers in Chicago. She came out for a private consult in our home to meet Scooter and do an initial evaluation. She gave us homework to do until we got into a Basic Pawzibilities class. Basic class with Lin Barrett changed Scooter's life and ours for the better. Despite being reactive to other dogs (he just wants to play all the time!) they set us up for success with barriers and challenges to work on reactivity off the bat. The class was comprehensive, very fairly priced, and gave us so many resources! Lin is a phenomenal trainer who can instantly read a situation with a dog and make suggestions that actually work. We went back for more- Lin ran Scooter's Proxy Pawzibilities class, which is basically a 3 week boot camp with twice weekly sessions, which we asked them to specifically work on dog neutrality and reactivity on leash. Lin and Scooter bonded and they are part of the family now! Over the 3 week course with weekly transfer sessions in studio, Lin has progressively helped to teach Scooter that the world exists around him and that he can exist in it in a calmer state, and more importantly taught us as dads the best ways to communicate with him and advance his training. I am a far better dog owner because of Anything is Pawzible.
In sum:

Scheduling drop-in visits is a breeze, and they’re always super communicative. I love that they send updates and photos every visit, so I always know what’s going on. I know it can be tough to find a company you feel comfortable trusting with your animals, but I’ve never had any hesitation with Smart Paws.
I also have to call out Gina specifically because she’s awesome to work with for scheduling and everything else. She’s incredibly responsive, always on top of things, and you can tell she genuinely cares.
If you need a pet sitter/walker, I genuinely can’t recommend the Smart Paws team enough.

The Dal Tadka was rich and comforting, the Chicken Karahi was flavorful with tender chicken, and the Chicken Biryani was aromatic and perfectly seasoned. The portions were generous, and the service was friendly and attentive.

Caesar Pierogi & Pizza Potpie
5749 W Irving Park Rd, ChicagoWe were feeling like pierogi and found this place on Google Maps. The food was excellent, but the hidden surprise was Caesar himself. He had us laughing and enjoying ourselves the entire visit. His suggestions were spot on. We ended up with a variety of pierogi, pizza pot pie, a tea from the huge selection and a couple of hot chocolates. Not only was the food excellent, we also enjoyed the presentation of the items and the general ambiance of this small establishment.
We will definitely be back the next time we visit the Chicago area.

The vibes: everyone here is super friendly and gets to know you over time. you can tell the owners and all of the baristas take pride in what they do.
The coffee: LOVE! Lots of variety + a selection of pastries.
On the weekends, there’s all sorts of pop up events from live DJs to food vendors. Definitely stop by. Usually street parking is available and it’s a great street in Avondale to grab coffee from here then walk around to do some vintage shopping.

The space was spacious and we could always trust that our buns were cared for. We moved out of Chicago last year and we missed Red Door so much ? Getting to play with and pet the kitties while their new forever home people came to pick them up was delightful. Very healing and soothing, and fun to meet the other folks who made reservations for the same hour. One Tail at a Time - Adoption Center
2144 North Wood Street, ChicagoI fostered a dog through OTAT for the first time, ever. After looking through their dogs up for foster, I found one that fit the characteristics I knew would be the proper fit for me and my boyfriend. We needed a dog that was sweet, playful amd great with other dogs, since our resident dog loves to play! I picked up my foster and knew she had an injury in her sad past. That was fine for me, as long as she was comfortable and not in pain. A few days after having her, I reached out to make sure she didn't have to be on movement restrictions, as I live on the top floor of my building and my resident dog has a rough and tumble play style. An email was sent to me to make a vet appointment for my foster to check her out and make sure she wasn't in pain. She had x rays taken, and was put on some joint supplements to help her. Time after time, when I had a question, a doubt or needed some support, I was met with compassion and patience. Since I was new to fostering in general and new to OTAT, I had a lot of questions about next steps, how things worked, etc. And was always met with kindness. I can tell that the volunteers and staff members care about animals, appreciate fosters and just want what is best for all. OTAT supplied me with nearly everything (I bought a couple little things, like a poop bag holder and a ball since she loves squeak toys and a toy's squeaker broke due to our resident dog) I needed. It's been four months that I've fostered her and I am continually astonished by how genuine everyone is. They also knew she'd been in my care for quite some time and therefore, reached out to me to post her on socials. It is quite a community at OTAT and I am so grateful for all of their help! I know working in non-profit can be hard in many ways, but that considered I still felt like their care and coordination of fostering was seamless, communicative, easy and helpful. There are (unfortunately!) Many animals in need of homes in Chicago, but I am so glad that OTAT is here to help! If you're thinking of fostering or adopting (or both!) I would definitely check them out as their services and assistance are top notch.

1430 West Willow Street, ChicagoSuch a wonderful place! Took my golden here for a treat as he loves to swim! They have different levels of swim classes from beginner to experienced. You can also choose solo swims or group swims. “Gunnar” loves the group swim where he gets to goof around with his friends and play with the plethora of toys they have for the dogs to enjoy. After the swim, they have showers and dryers so your car doesn’t smell like wet dog! A lovely place with lovely staff!

The Dr came to my house and was fantastic. I was skeptical on in home euthanasia but I am glad I used them.
