“Awesome skatepark! It is really big and they have a variety of obstacles which I love. Its the only park I've been to with a bowl. Love the atmosphere and the skate shop part of it too.”

“I have had the pleasure of visiting 847RC several times over the past month or so and I had to share what a special place the team over there have curated. When I first began my running journey in 2008 there were only proper running stores in Downtown Chicago where I could get a proper fitting for my stride. Those days are so long gone thanks to 847RC! ??♀️Now, I can simply call upon my friends down the street at 847 to help me feel my best while I pound the pavement. “Absolutely love this place for baby clothes! Everything is usually on sale for a great price. I was having troubles picking out a gift for a friend’s baby, the wonderful lady who was working, who I forgot her name, was super helpful, super attentive, and gave me many options to chose from (which were all hard because all the clothes are so cute!) Definitely come here if you’re looking for baby items! Cannot recommend enough.”
“I lost the bottom of the heel on one of my favorite boots. I came in Saturday they gave me a ticket and said come back Wednesday. I came back picked them up and they were perfect. They even replaced the heel on the non broken boot as well so they'd match. It was a very quick in and out service. I appreciate the help so much.”

“They have some of my favorite brands and some I hadn’t tried yet. I picked up a lightweight pair of shorts and a classy shirt along with some necessities. Their staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, and they’re located near a restaurant with delicious food - Firks. When I can’t get back, I’ll use their website to shop.”

“I am a bigger guy. However, I really don't care about all the crazy fashion that crops up every season. I just want nice looking jeans, button down shirts, and 1/2 zip and hoodie sweatshirts to fit right. For awhile, some stores had good clothing for plus size people. Kohl's carried a couple brands that were stylish and fit well, but then they stopped carrying them only to re-introduce those same brands with ill-fitting plus size options. Marshall Field's had a few items which became Macy's, and they had fewer still. The Winston Box, a monthly subscription mail order service boasts a way to find great options for any plus size and truthfully, they never sent items that fit well.
However, DXL (a.k.a. Destination XL) has always had options that work well with my body type. I'm a Polo fan and not a big fan or their house brand, Harbor Bay. With that being said, Harbor Bay's t-shirts and jackets are awesome and fit great.
DXL always has new options and brings in new brands that offer nice options such as Vineyard Vines, Psycho Bunny, Robert Graham, and more. Lately, I love the Lucky Brand jeans as they fit so well, and recently purchased the softest, most comfortable Vineyard Vines hoodie (actually, wearing both the hoodie and jeans right now).
Plus, DXL offers workout closes, casual clothes, dress clothes, suits, shoes, and accessories.
Lastly, the Vernon Hills location (close to me) has such a wonderful staff. Over the years, their staff has changed, but they are very friendly and always offer to help you find what you're looking for or are happy to remains hands off and let you do your own shopping. And they remember you whether you frequent them often or your visits are limited to a few times a year. I hardly visit any other store and if they don't have something in their store, they are happy to reach out to other locations to help you find your size and color you desire. I love this place!”
“I just picked up my slippers at John's Shoe Store. I'm happy to report that I'm completely impressed by the craftsmanship and care he put into repairing my favorite slippers. They ripped in the back and I wanted him to stitch them up so I could get a little more use out of them. Instead, he replaced the entire inside back of the slippers with new leather on both slippers and expertly sewed them in the back, making them as good as new! I highly recommend patronizing his shop if you need shoes repaired, as unfortunately, craftsmanship and pride in one's work is a dying art.”

“I’m a small gift store owner. Today was the Friday before Mother’s Day and it was wonderfully wild at our store. I’m going to the theatre tomorrow afternoon and I have spent the week flipping out that I have nothing casual but nice enough to wear tomorrow. Because we were so busy all week at work, I have not had a chance to go shopping. So about 5 o’clock today I called JJill in Skokie. Jamie answered and put a shirt on hold for me. The shirt looked nice online but still I was clueless what to wear with it. Jamie told me the store was open until 9. I raced over after work at 8pm. I ran into the store, found Jamie and told her I needed a cute outfit to wear in 16 hours. Jamie pulled together 2 of the cutest outfits …EVER. She was so patient and wonderful and I promised to leave by closing and she said don’t worry, we will stay after if you need. WHAT????? Who does that? So 45 minutes later I walked out with two super cute outfits (not just theater wear but over and over dinner date wear, birthday party wear, out to lunch, out to dinner, off to work, clothes I can get so much use from.) Also some earrings, a pair of jeans, a great ivory tank and a present for my business partner!! Jamie was amazing!!!!! Above and beyond (and I left her with 15 minutes to spare!!!) JJill (and of course Jamie) will be my first go to from now on!! Thanks JJill so much for employing such great people!!
I also would like to mention skokie and deer park are my 2 jjill stores. Several years ago I stopped shopping at Jjill because the staff was really very icky to work with. And if you brought back a return it was as if they were doing a gigantic favor returning it!! Not great attitudes, not very nice, etc. I started shopping a couple of years ago at your stores again. Not sure what has changed but Deer park and Old Orchard have such consistently wonderful service. Please pass along my sincere thanks. And whatever may have changed at the corporate level, the results are so noticeable and appreciated.

“I went there to buy 1 or 2 pairs of shoes. My feet are very difficult to fit due to swelling and deformities. Salesman Joel was very patient with me. We kept fine tuning till we got the right size, the right fit. Not everything that I was interested in was in stock. I had him bring out about 20 pairs of shoes for me to try. Finally got what I was pleased with. The second pair had to be shipped to me. BUT will be arriving in 3 days.”
