“The tire shop said I needed new rear shocks.
The dealer quoted me $600 for labor and told me I had to contact their parts department for the price of the parts.
Action Transmission quoted me around $300 parts and labor and let me schedule an appointment around my needs and examined the shocks. I also requested an oil change and tire rotation. Final bill - ~$100. My shocks are fine.
Thank God I have an honest mechanic who never charges me for unnecessary work.
Had I gone to the dealer, I know they would have just changed the shocks and I would be out $800-$1000.

“I bought a battery from Costco, not realizing that they don't install them. I went to multiple corporate places Firestone etc, and they don't put in customer bought parts! “i have been living in forest park for the past 6 years. I live 2 minutes away from Elite Tires & Auto & i have always drove past them. on memorial day i caught a flat tire. I called my roadside assistance and they werent able to put my spare tire on. Next day i went to pep boys right next door to Elites & they told me they me they didn’t have time to put my spare on. So i drove next door to Elites, & it just so happened that my spare tire was gone??♀️ (im thinking roadside assistance stole it when they came to help me put it on the day before) i’m not sure of the mans name that works at the front desk but he gave me a brand new tire for a GREAT deal! I appreciate them so much & i will be back!”
