This is where I go to get any sporting grade needs that I can trust all the people here are worth noting their professional and they had a great selection of different items, especially hiking and running items, though I will look online, but other than that, the staff and the pricing here is excellent and you never know what you’ll find so excited to come back to this place.”
“I had a wonderful experience at Xtra Mile! Both the owner Chris and the associate Kevin who I worked with were super resourceful and patient in helping me find the right running shoes for me. Appreciated the gait analysis they do at the store (having you walk/run on the treadmill and analyzing your video) and shoe recs. Ended up getting Brooks Glycerin Max on sale, which I’m liking so far. Chris is very involved in the community too and tries to be a resource for runners of all levels. Highly recommend this Xtra Mile Running!”

“I was looking to try on some shoes for pickleball. Having never been to this store, i did not realize that the selection of shoes was limited. However, the gentleman working was very polite and helped me the best that he could. The store was small but had a nice variety of tennis racquets and pickleball paddles. Just not a lot of shoes.”

“Went at the recommendation of my physical therapist to get new walking shoes. I broke my ankle 5 months ago, have swelling from edema & used to have plantar fasciitis so I wanted expert attention to get the right shoe. I was greeted right away and helped very professionally by Gia. The “Albert” scale demonstrated the shape of my foot and arch, I walked on the treadmill which they recorded and viewed to understand my gait - then she lent me socks & suggested four different shoes. All were comfortable and stylish. I bought my favorite pair & ended up getting a few pairs of the socks. A little on the pricey side but so worth the cost of getting the right fit with a thorough measurement system. I was in and out in under 30 minutes. Highly recommend.”

“This was my first time ever walking into this store. I never went in because I thought it was a bunch of knockoff stuff but I was wrong. This store has everything I need for sports. I’m a BIG Chicago fan and I know out of all these stores in Woodfield mall, this store has the most variety of stuff to choose from. I would always shop at Lids because of their coupons. I’m hoping this store has the same sales or coupons like their competitors. But I will definitely make this my to go to sports store. Also, I was very impressed by how nice the staff was. “This store is so cute. I was gifted a backpack a year ago and finally went in to get it embroidered on Black Friday, nonetheless. I left it while I shopped around the mall. The staff was friendly and very efficient. If you have a cheerleader, you need to go check out the merch at the Cheer Shoppe!!!”
“Better than Bass Pro.Easily the greatest fishing store around. Dare I say it... better than Bass Pro Shops. While it may look unassuming from the outside, it probably has more and better options than BPS. Owner is also a super nice and extremely knowledgeable guy. Not at all pushy-- helped me through a lot of questions as I am getting into a new kind of fishing and set me up real nicely. Definitely coming back often.”

We always have a great experience at REI in Vernon Hills. The staff is knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. We shop here for athletic shoes and outdoor gear, and my husband recently bought a bike the service was amazing from start to finish.
We’re also REI members, and the member deals make it even better. The store is big, easy to shop, and has a great selection you can actually see and try on.”
