The mortgage loan officer, Galyna Salgalova, and the closer, Oksana Hrudzevych, were so professional, supportive, informative and really had my best interest in mind. They answered any questions that I had and guided me through the whole process. They were always prompt with any inquiry, they made my loan approval and closing process as smooth and as easy as possible. Because everything was handled timely by amazing Selfreliance's team, I was able to purchase the house of my dreams. No words can fully describe how grateful am I for all the attention and thoughtfulness that Galyna Salgalova and Oksana Hrudzevych provided to me. Thank you very much! “This is a great bank. I have been banking with them for 35 years, several checking accounts, savings, mortgage and other loans. Because it is small you can talk to the president if you need to. They will go out of their way to help. They have a service I really like and have not found at other banks, they text me and email me every time my credit card is used. More than once it alerted me to a fraudulent charge and because I got the info so fast I was able to stop it before it became a problem. Also if someone writes me a check and it bounces or if I have an overdraft they call or email so i don't find out 10 days later. UPDATE, I wrote this when this was South Central Bank. The things I wrote are no longer true since Verve bough them. There are not owned in Chicago and don't seem to care about it. Their office is like a ghost town and they don't return calls. The staff I dealt with were very inexperienced and could not solve simple problem. They got rid of their good people. I think it is unethical to say this review was written for Verve when it was about their predecessor, South Central Bank.”
“I went to the bank today. We had an issue at another bank and Caroline was so helpful. Not only was she very professional, positive but she was able to fix the issue in a timely manner. There are not many people today that want to go above and beyond, but she definitely did. Not only did she help us but she also followed up with us to make sure everything went smooth. “This CU stepped in and helped federal employees subjected to the oppressive 2018-19 government shutdown in a way that few financial institutions (and certainly not banks) would. The peace of mind they gave me during that difficult time was a Godsend. Always had courteous and helpful customer service as well, in the nearly 10 years I have been a member. “The customer service is excellent. When I called the representatives have always been friendly, courteous and helpful. The loan department is excellent. They were able to process my loan in one day. The only problem I have, when sending money to my account CAFCU from an external bank (CHASE), it takes days before it reaches my CAFCU account. My external bank (Chase) and CAFCU are both in Illinois and I don't understand why it takes up to 5 days for the deposit to hit my CAFCU account. Overall I really like the credit union but they need to find away to get deposits in accounts quicker.”

He has been my personal banker for a few years now because he gives great advice regarding products and financial literacy. He's always pleasant. Shantae is another I find so friendly and welcoming whenever I encounter her at the counter. She offers such a great attitude when displaying what CU1 represents.
