“So, it's1987, I'm living in downtown Chicago, and I get laid off. I take 3 jars of coins to a bank, to cash out, and the teller (foreign) mumbles something. Turns out, he was mumbling that it was 10% coin counting fee, which I would not have agreed to if I understood him. So, I ended up paying $17 to count $170 worth of coins, and I needed that $17.Today, July 25, 2020 ( I heard there was a coin shortage in the US) I took my jar of coins into the lobby of this bank, and the machine quickly counted it, and they gave me cash with zero coin-counting charge. It was fast, easy....and I do not even have an account with them.I appreciate that this bank offers this service to the community.I do have an account with another local bank. But most of their branches do NOT have a coin-counting machine on premise. The coins get bagged and sent to some remote location, and in around a week, a deposit for the value of the counted coins shows up in my checking account.”

“When I lived in Mundelein this was my preferred bank. It was a bummer when I had to go to the bank on Maple, but it was only because this bank didn't have the printer to give me a new debit card. I assume because they're a smaller establishment? The employees were always very kind to me and my children (if they tagged along). Complementary coffee, water, and candy was sometimes available if there was a wait for a banker. If I ever did have an issue they were very apologetic and worked hard to resolve my problem. I know most are quick to leave negative reviews, but after moving away I miss this bank. I now frequent a Wintrust near my new residence and it can't hold a candle to this branch.”

“Stopped in the lobby today to deposit a cashiers check to my newly opened account. The security person more or less yelled at me to remove my face mask (who quite loudly stated "COVID is over").I unfortunately didn't know about this no-mask policy for thir lobby when opening my account or I would have reconsidered. I hope that anyone else who has to mask for their own or others' sake finds out beforehand unlike me.Staff are friedly and the 5% APR money market account is very attractive, but I'm no longer sure dealing with this is worth risking the health of my quite elderly family who I am the sole caretaker for.”

“My dad has a local account here and the tellers are very nice. I hate to say it, but I am very lazy and use the drive-thru window instead of walking into the bank. I especially like the holiday decorated deposit slips that they use...a little cheer for the sometimes drab winter weather. A word to the wise, don't even attempt to make a left turn headed westbound on Shermer or you're asking for an accident.”

“Ive been banking here for many years. Their personal banking services, and their customer services are absolutely great. Their tellers are always friendly and their personal bankers (especially Catherine and Denise) are super helpful. Their online bill pay works well for both business and consumer banking and allows transfers, etc. They always have good coffee and snacks/treats for the kids and in general it is a pleasure to stop by the bank. I've never tried to borrow money from Wintrust.”
