“I visited Springfield, IL last month to say goodbye to my wonderful childhood friend who was dying of cancer. When researching on Google for a decent hotel that was reasonably priced, this one kept coming up. Since I was traveling, my husband made the reservation for me. When I checked in, the woman at the desk was kind and very helpful in getting my room. The hotel is near the interstate which is convenient, and there are a few restaurants nearby that have good ratings as well. The hotel is a little tired and has some wear and tear if you look hard, but is very clean, serviceable, comfortable and with a great staff! There is no breakfast offered at this hotel, but the room has a full sized kitchen in a small space with everything you could possibly need to make a meal. They do have food for sale in a room down near the desk if you just want something quick to microwave or just have a snack. There is also a grocery store about a mile north of the hotel at the corner of Dirksen Pkwy and S. Grand Ave along with some Tesla super chargers. They have all of the shower amenities you would need in the bathroom, like shampoo, conditioner and body soap, as I'd forgotten mine in my rush to get up north. The bed, bedding and pillows (offering a combination of soft and firm pillows) was very comfortable and I think I had the best sleep I'd had in a while! All of the people I interacted with at this hotel were kind, courteous and full of knowledge of the area. One person in particular stood out, and her name was Chantaria (I sure hope I spelled it right). She was the one that helped me with check in (as there was a slight issue) and I had the most wonderful conversation with her later on when I came back down to ask some questions. I will definitely stay with Candlewood Suites in Springfield on any future trips I make to the area, they offer a clean, comfortable and safe place to stay with a wonderful staff!”

“Stayed here on 6.14.2025. Despite being an older hotel, I appreciate the rooms that have a cozy feel to them and that haven't lost their character after being upgraded. The room was clean and Spacious, the shower was hot, and the bed was very comfortable. There was a decent selection of items at breakfast the morning I checked out. KUDOS to Mark and Christian who worked the front desk. I would definitely stay at this location again.”

“We loved our stay here. The staff was on point with everything, and it really felt like it was their pleasure to make our stay great. The breakfast has everything you need. Hot coffee all day long. You even get a drink card to use for three free drinks a night at the bar. The hot tub and pool was a must every night for us to have some relaxing time before bed. Even though they were working on some construction, it didn’t interfere or disturb our stay.”

“My. Girlfriend and I stayed there recently and a lot in the past. The staff was always great. We always dealt with Courtney at the front desk and she was always amazing. She is not there anymore, I hear, and it shows. I can’t understand the staff due to the language barrier. Jon is the only person there that helped me at all. There was no one at the front desk to answer or needs at night or early breakfast times . I just want to say we will be staying at other Choice Hotels when we stay in Springfield in the future. Sleep Inn was just not as friendly.Walkability: Hotel close to stores”

“We came here as a party of 4 for the All you can eat dinner--- the place was busy, the service was fast, our waitress was very friendly, helpful, and relaxing... She greeted us with a smile, later throughout our visit, she engaged us in conversations, she made sure our glasses were filled in a timely manner... We ordered and our food came out hot, fresh, and turned out to be better than I thought it would be... Our waitress made sure to bring out a fresh plate of food every time she noticed that we had eaten what we had ordered until everyone had agreed that they were full... Yes, I will go back again...”
