“This is the only place I will buy meat. They have the best meat quality and better prices than most places around. I trust their quality and they carry our favorite hard salami, which we only buy here. Great selection of cheeses too. I very much love their BBQ seasonings in the tubs by the meat counter.Also, I like how they normally carry some items that I love, that I have a hard time finding anywhere else. Specific flavors of Kool-aid, cherry no-bake cheesecake, and more. They've always been that way and I like the fact that I can support a local business by buying my favorites that only they carry.”
“Loved it great fresh meats everyday and low prices spent 100.00 on meat to cook that normally cost me 200.00 at Walmart. The only con I had was not much soft drink selection.”

“Bowlins is our local go to for fresh meat. I don’t really get much else there because with it being a small grocery store, a lot of prices are higher. But when it comes to fresh cut bacon or ground beef, that is absolutely where we go. In my opinion they have the best bacon around!”

“Better stocked and cleaner than the Dollar General in south side of town. A bit too small but no big deal. Some of the workers not so friendly but then other ones are.”
“Our new found resource for capicola and tamales. I honestly don't even know what other options they have there, it was suggested to me as a place I can get cases of frozen tamales and capicola, and so I went. I get the idea the bulk of their business is food service delivery to area retailers and restaurants, but they will sell to the general public at retail prices as well.”
“Plenty of Farm Fresh Milk (not glass bottles). Plenty of help inside. Place was clean, a bit crowded but that means lots of options. I only bought milk and chips. Milk today was $6 for the 1/2 gallon.”

“They had everything I went there for and just walked up to the checkout line with only one person in front of me. I checked out and was on my way to my next stop. Happy.”
“It was very crowded with carts from employees stocking shelves. But there was plenty of things on the shelves. We went in for tables clothes & came out with everything but them.”
“Just like any other dollar general only thing that changes are the faces and the attitudes. Couldn't find an empty cart, the employees had stuff in them so I had to use a basket which limited my buying.”
“Store often kind of a mess and understocked but they seem understaffed as well. Not as nice as one on north end of town but still fairly cheap and quick in and out.”
“Dave and his store are a great asset to the community! Workers are always friendly and fast, and Dave will do his best to order any product you want that they do not have.”

“I don’t know if this store is under new management or what but it looks so much better than it did in the past. It’s less cluttered, things are in place and the staff takes the time to actually walk you to where an item is rather than pointing in some direction and saying it should be over there. I will only shop at this store and if I am not in the area of it, I will wait until I am in that area rather than stopping at any other one. Management…Keep doing what you’re doing because you have taken this store to an all new level! Kudos to you for a job well done! You deserve an award for having the best DG in southern Illinois.”
