“This is the only place I will buy meat. They have the best meat quality and better prices than most places around. I trust their quality and they carry our favorite hard salami, which we only buy here. Great selection of cheeses too. I very much love their BBQ seasonings in the tubs by the meat counter.Also, I like how they normally carry some items that I love, that I have a hard time finding anywhere else. Specific flavors of Kool-aid, cherry no-bake cheesecake, and more. They've always been that way and I like the fact that I can support a local business by buying my favorites that only they carry.”
“We were looking for a grocery store locally to replace majority of our Walmart runs and found this a town over. We finally made a stop in and were incredibly impressed. It is a small grocery with many of your daily needs. What really impressed us was the meat section, the large array of locally sources options, and the friendly service. Bowlins has a huge seasoning line of their own and we can't wait to try some, we found a local coffee brand we didn't know about, and bought items that support our veterans and cancer research. The clerk was incredibly kind, efficient, and personable. Many prices were comparable if not cheaper than Walmart. We intend to make the 10 minute drive to replace a majority of our Walmart trips.”

“Plenty of Farm Fresh Milk (not glass bottles). Plenty of help inside. Place was clean, a bit crowded but that means lots of options. I only bought milk and chips. Milk today was $6 for the 1/2 gallon.”
“Its one of my favorite Dollar general they are pretty much always stocked up on merchandise on the shelves they seem to have a lot more to choose from than other DG stores”

“Very friendly and helpful staff. I knew they have a Caroline Cart (which allows people who can't walk to sit and be pushed) but I couldn't find it today. I asked a young man who worked there. He went out of his way to locate it, eventually finding it on the parking lot and brought it to us. This cart enables my elderly mother who uses a wheelchair to participate in her grocery shopping which she enjoys. Kudos to Kroger for having a Caroline Cart and kind employees.”
“I don’t know if this store is under new management or what but it looks so much better than it did in the past. It’s less cluttered, things are in place and the staff takes the time to actually walk you to where an item is rather than pointing in some direction and saying it should be over there. I will only shop at this store and if I am not in the area of it, I will wait until I am in that area rather than stopping at any other one. Management…Keep doing what you’re doing because you have taken this store to an all new level! Kudos to you for a job well done! You deserve an award for having the best DG in southern Illinois.”
“Picked up hot food from deli for lunch. Fried jalapeño poppers, potato wedges, mac & cheese, fried cheese curds always excellent went to the park and had our lunch lovely day.”
