Everything from jewelry, leather bags, glass ware, some house wares and even horoscope perfumes. Items come from everywhere and are high quality. I'm giving serious thought to going back for the bag pictured just need to decide on a color! Definitely worth checking out!!”

Lots of the products were handmade which I appreciated. Some of the brands were new to me. Just a heads up that it is small so it can get crowded quickly. “I LOVE gift shops like this. It is not everyone's cup of tea but I love all the unusual gifts. There are many local to Indianapolis items as well. There are small items that are fairly inexpensive along with larger more expensive items. There are coasters, magnets, shot glasses, socks, bar accessories, and there are edible items and chocolates as well. If you are a fan of the funny sayings, as I am, then you will enjoy walking around the store and reading all of them on various items. They have some cookbooks including one from Snoop Dog! Next time you are in The Garage make sure and stop in here and check them out and see if it your cup of tea!”

“By now, it should be firmly established that I'm a fan of Global Gifts. Established in 1988, not long after I finished high school, I've grown into my life with Global Gifts alongside me and I still remember when it was a one-shop establishment on Indy's Northwest side and I was a low-income shopper living on disability who needed human connection as much as I needed the typically five buck purchase I would make. It was nearly always incense, an inexpensive candle, or something else small that would add some sort of spark to my apartment. I was always treated like a gem and as I grew into an activist I was always impressed with how much the staff encouraged me. That's many years ago, of course. I'm no longer on disability and no longer living on a fixed income. I'm still cheap (some things never change) but I'm also into fair trade and social responsibility. I still 100% live for the Global Gifts vibe, heart, and call to action to be part of creating a better world for everyone. I'd not made it to this location. I grew up in this area, but as a Lawrence resident now I just don't return to this area often. Global Gifts is now in Bloomington and Indy. Indy has spots in Nora (which I hear through the grapevine is moving soon), Mass Avenue, and this spot in the neighborhood known as International Marketplace (think the Lafayette Square area). This is located inside the Global Village Welcome Center, a sort of gateway to International Marketplace and an ideal place for Global Gifts. It seems a little more limited than other Global Gifts spots - both in terms of products and hours. However, it's a sublime location and it maintains everything that I love about Global Gifts. Global Gifts has 100% Fair Trade verified products. It's worth noting that Global Gifts is a non-profit organization with a strong sense of mission. A good number of the folks who work in the stores are actually volunteers (So don't be a j***** They have a Global Rewards program that's worth signing up for and this store, in particular, is pretty darn good in terms of accessibility. I find the quality here is generally quite good. You will see some somewhat familiar Fair Trade "brands" like Equal Exchange, but you'll also see quite a few products associated with a wide variety of nations from around the world. You can volunteer for Global Gifts and you can also shop online. What you won't get at Global Gifts? You won't get treated poorly. Ever. Yes, different volunteers have different personalities - but everyone here is genuinely kind, very into Fair Trade, knowledgeable about Global Gifts, and helpful. You won't get "cheap" items that aren't actually Fair Trade. You won't get items that force people to live in poverty - instead, you'll get fairly priced items that allow people a livable wage. As a person with a disability, I'm acutely aware of those who make less than a living wage because it's still legal here in the U.S. for people with disabilities to be paid sub-minimum wages. I'm against it and passionately so. I'm not a big time shopper. There are very few stores are consider "destination" stores where I'll genuinely go out of my way to shop there. "Global Gifts" is one of them - I experienced first-hand their sense of mission simply through their kindness toward me during rough periods of my own life and they continue to live into their mission in a myriad of ways. Global Gifts is a remarkable non-profit and every location I've been to has lived into their mission and values beautifully. This location at the Global Village Welcome Center is no exception.”

“Cute little museum; it took about 2 hours to walk through all of the exhibits. On the day of my visit, general admission was $20. There is underground parking right at the entrance. Of course, be prepared for field trips and annoying kids running around. I found the exhibits interesting and learned about the history of Indiana.”

I imagine parking is expensive like other airports.”

I called the local # that was on the card and was greeted by the most friendly woman on the phone. I expressed my concerns and she ordered a re delivery for the next day. The flowers came today and are beautiful. As an added bonus, I got another order of strawberries (my office thanks you) This will be where we go in the future for all delivery gift orders!
