“I love going to half-price books. I have a collection of first edition books and H-P books is a great place to enlarge my collection. I also buy CDs, LPs, DVDs and the occasional Comic book there. I also buy autobiographies for this local charity and every time I go there I check out the clearance section to buy the autobiographies. This way I can get more books for the charity on my little budget. I've been going there for over 15 years and God willing I hope to continue going there for 15+ more.”

“I really like Porter. It's chill and doesn't try too hard. The staff are always helpful and I like their lattes. The seating feels limited depending on the time of day, but what I really love is the split level layout. Upstairs is quieter and has more natural light. Downstairs you're by the coffee bar and the music is louder, so it's fun to meet hang out with people down there. If accessibility is a factor for you keep in mind that outside there are ramps to get to the upstairs or downstairs entrance, but once inside there's only a spiral staircase to get to either level. I'll admit I haven't tried their pastries, but friends have said they enjoy them and they look delicious. Definitely give this place a shot if you're looking for someplace new!”

“Irvington Vinyl & Books is a cozy, peaceful and unique used bookstore and I'm so glad it's part of the bookstore community in Indy. I love coming here on a weekend morning to browse what's new in the record selection and picked up a Beatles record to add to my collection on my last visit. I also appreciate that they have a small new selection to keep up with all the recent releases. Usually there's a record playing and incense burning when I'm there which makes for a lovely ambiance. I'm so sad to hear about the passing of the bookstore cat Violet, who was a highlight of each bookstore visit.”

“My family had a great time visiting Dream Palace. We enjoyed an espresso and a cortado. Both coffees were excellently balanced and paired well with their chocolate croissant. Also a local roastery named Shuv Coffee had a pop up Aeropress bar. Their coffee was unique and full of vibrant flavors.”

“Cutest book store and owner is the sweetest lady in the world. She has 2 cats that are the sweetest and softest and wander around the book store while you shop. The books have the cutest covers and are in the best condition. She has some books that are original 1800s copies. Most of the books range from $10-30. She also hand makes the notebooks and paper flowers. Definitely recommend for a cute vintage book shop!”

“Great little hole in the wall. A good selection of beer & friendly staff. Just enough space to read or do your own thing. Some folks were playing board games, some were reading, and others were doing trivia. Worth a try.”

“I ordered a golf instruction book that helped me immensely when I started playing over 50 years ago. They got it and I was able to pick it up two weeks later. I always find something used by my favorite authors....and they have New products such as Calendars and stationary available.”

“The last of a kind. I miss Borders. Books-A-Million is inept (I co-managed the one in Kokomo for awhile in the 00s). For now, Barnes and Noble is the last big box bookstore.”

“Now located at the old Fountain Square branch of the Indianapolis Public Library, right at the Fountain intersection. There are both used and new books inside. Adult, YA and children's books. They have a cute corner in the front with a HUGE chair for children's books. They also have a discount section for $1-$2 paperback novels. AND best of all, they have a "Pay what you can" section. It literally says, pay anything over $0.00! They do not buy used books but will take donations. They also have a reading program for children and youth.”

“Came to see the Indianapolis men's chorus. Fast moving well programmed Christmas Show. Facility & sound was great. Scene changes on point. The only problem was determining where the theater was within the University. First time there so I was very unsure and had a very hard time locating the theater.”

“Nice little book store with plenty of new and used books to choose from. Didn’t realize they bought books too or I’d have brought some of my old ones with me to hopefully sell. Next time I will for sure. The prices of the books were definitely better than what you’d find at a bigger book store which I like that. And it was very well organized with very friendly staff.”

“I love a good book store and I enjoyed the merchandise that was available but disappointed that it was not fully stocked. The staff member I interacted with was very nice the rest did not acknowledge me at all. The bathroom was clean but clearly had water damage at some point”

“What a sweet bookstore that I have probably passed a zillion times over the years. This cost little bookstore neighbors Kincaids Meat Market, Illinois Street Food Emporium and several other sweet local businesses. I was amazed to find out that they've been around for quite some time (and embarrassed that I was oblivious). The store offers a variety of children's books, educational toys and small entertaining items like sticker books, etc (what I like to call "restaurant activities). They also had a few little play stations like a train set to make the visit itself entertaining for kiddos. The staff was both friendly and warm - just what you love to see with a neighborhood bookstore. Looking forward to future visits.”

“I had the privilege of witnessing a very close friends baptism at Eastern Star's east campus. Wow! The people here are so very friendly. It is a larger edifice but the signage is spectacular. There is security and plenty of individuals within reach should you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to the next opportunity to fellowship and visit. Beautiful!”

“There are a number of fun toys, action figures, games, and curiosities to be had here. There seems to be a sale or clearance on at any given time. A LOT of your favorite pop culture fandoms are represented here. Go! (and find your favorite geeky treasure!)”

“I graduate in May and will transfer to a university. Ivy Tech has been the best thing that has ever happened to my education. As long as you are smart enough to review teachers before signing up for classes, you will do great. If you have a problem, go to campus, and they will take care of you. Ivy Tech gave me a new start on life.”
