“I have had a positive experience shopping at Save A Lot in Michigan City. They offer competitive prices and a decent selection of affordable items. However, I have noticed that the quality of their meat and vegetables can be inconsistent. Despite this, I appreciate their clean store and generally good prices on most items. I would rate them four stars overall.”
“We love Gordon's. Going to school in Indiana in the late 80s and the 1990s, I and many of my friends loved the fiestada Mexican pizzas. They're so good they pretty much became a core memory, lol. I hadn't had one in years when a friend told me that I could order them by the case here. Sure enough, he was right. Great value for a case of 72 and they taste just as great as I remembered. They don't have them in the store, but you can order them and they usually have them in within 1 day!
We also love to buy the 5lb cases of gyro meat, the feta cheese, and the tzatziki sauce to make gyros at home. Much better than the box kits you can buy at most stores. Always good deals to be found here. Clean and well stocked store. Friendly employees and management. Always a good experience here.”

“Chocolate sourdough must try!!!
I regret not getting the large chocolate sourdough for $13! I got the small one for $8.
It is sooo good! You can really taste the chocolate and it has big chocolate chunks when you toast it it gets really gooey and yummy!
I put mascarpone and lingonberry jam on mine and it was chefs kiss!
We also got some fun drinks at this place they have a lot of cool drinks in the fridge section we got the hard Apple cider that has chai tea spices in it and some of their herb infused botanical non-alcoholic drinks.
Would definitely come back and buy a few large loaves of the chocolate sourdough for family if I come back to visit Michigan.”
“Al's has been around since I can recall. A very clean store. Great selection, and high quality. Prices are a tab higher than others, but it's worth it. Service is A1. Awesome meat market. Cash registers always open, short lines. They value you as a customer. If you are on a budget, they also have house brands to stretch your dollar. Oh, check out the deli, their fried chicken, one of the best in town.”
“It's your typical Aldi's store, The stores are clean and well organized , and sometimes they're busy stocking, and it geta bit cluttered, but the prices are more than make up for it. Also, where else can you buy a cart for a quarter? Parking is adequate with easy access.”
“Had a slight infection and was looking for more all natural medication to help. I found everything I was looking for including natural ear drops, liquid zinc and elderberry, hydrogen peroxide and healthy snacks! The group of girls working were very knowledgeable and helpful. There is a smoothie bar made to order I will definitely be coming back to try! Organic spices and vegan jerky among many other things that caught my eye as-well.”

“This is one of the better ones in town. It's stocked well most of the time. The workers are friendly. The only thing is I have a habit of putting my wallet and keys in the basket while I shop and when I get up front this one lady literally snatches the basket off my arm and I tell her to give me a min to get my wallet and keys out and she still tries to snatch it from me. It has happened twice to me with her.”
“We love the quick and stop pick up for dinner here. The meat is always delicious and the we grab the yellow rice to go with! Never have been disappointed! Great produce! Some regular items are a little pricier than others. Other than that we love stopping for taco Tuesday nights for their meat! ??”
“Midsize, has everything that you need! Plenty of of craft beers, check out especially the end cap with the hyper local selection, good prices on cage-free eggs, decent prices on everything else. If they still have Boar's Head meat it's delicious, also check out the lobster fest next month and $1.99 variety sunglasses, temporary on special!”
“East Side is a small grocery store. It also has a nice little produce section with very reasonable prices. The meat counter is the star of the store. Yes the meat is pricier but so worth it! Granted my hubby knows how to cook steaks but the meat flavor is amazing and tender. The porterhouse was huge. And the tenderloin side is absolutely the most delicious tenderloin I have ever had! The ribeye, also amazing! Friendly service. We will be back for sure. They are open 7 days a week.”

“absolutely a gem in our area. family owned and they are just the sweetest people ever. food has been phenomenal every single time and always prepared super fast. i love shopping in the super market area while waiting the few minutes until they have our food ready. also very affordable. they usually sell crafts as well. just an all around awesome establishment.”
“This little store has lots of stuff. Cold drinks and snacks. Firewood, camping foods, canned goods and coffee. Sun hats, sun shirts, swimwear, boogie boards and touristy shirts. Postcards and good stickers! Also. great people work in here.”

“Jannsen’s is a staple of the community for several reasons. First and foremost, upon arriving in Beverly Shores, either by train or auto, it is what one sees immediately prior to entering the town. As such, people often stop by for some hiking, bird watching, beaching, soft serve (weather permitting), or other supplies of that nature.The Dunes Mart is always aptly stocked and staffed by genuinely nice, yet thoroughly professional, people and I cannot recall a single unpleasant experience while shopping here in well over a decade. Although it would appear Jannsen’s keeps one of nearly everything on their shelves, except for blue pens ?. Other than that this Mart is excellent.And last, but in all honesty the most significant, starting the day with a cup of Sandra C’s regular blend - and one of Henze’s Bakery’s finest - is quite hard to top. Whether you’re from the area, or just passing through, I’d suggest recharging at the Dunes Mart.”

“Staff was great. Customers were rude. Person ahead me at cooler touched every drink in row despite the pandemic. Customers didn't wear masks, crowded the line, and ignored store directions to social distance. Early morning is best time to go to avoid getting sick.”
