About National Car Rental
National Car Rental at the Des Moines Airport provides generally good and friendly customer service, with a process described as quick, easy, and fast. The rental counter and car lot are conveniently located right outside the airport. Using the National app and Emerald Club membership can help manage rentals and sometimes provides free upgrades, like to an SUV. However, this location lacks the Emerald Aisle, limiting vehicle choice and automatic upgrades for some members, which was a letdown. On occasion, only one type of vehicle, such as a minivan, may be available regardless of the customer's needs. Overall, returning the vehicle is simple, but the absence of usual perks may lead some customers to explore other rental options.

At the checkout gate they gave me helpful tips on avoiding the construction during the car return and Carly was abundantly polite and helpful during the return process. Great crew of helpful people at this location.

Everything prefect and smooth. The girl working kiosk went out of her way to help get a car I liked. On return she was also most pleasant.
