“Best skate shope ever. This is lowkey the cleanest store i've ever been in. By far. Kevin keeps the place organised and as clean as a museum. Also, great heating and cooling system so whenever the typical Iowa weather rolls around, its always either a good place to warm up, or cool down. The employees are also always welcoming to people of all backrounds. Very friendly and super helpfull. When I went to Subsect years ago, to build my first good board, i think i spent an hour and a half in there just deciding and hyperanalyzing 3 different decks. Eventually they helped me choose a great board that I was very happy with. Needless to say, the people at subsect have always been super attentive to their customers and always helpfull to me. As well as awnsering all my stupid questions over the years, with patience. The atmosphear is also top notch. It somehow gives a professional, laid back feel. They are also great with little kids.
Additionally, their stock selection is incredible, and unlike big stores, they have products that skaters actually want!
I should also mention that they have both a sale board, and sale shoe rack, as well as clearence bins sometimes. Those have definitely helped me keep skating in times when money was tight.
If you dont see what you're looking for, feel free to ask any of the employees for help, and they will always help find what you need.
Overall, by far the best skateshop around.
I would recomend everybody go to Subsect for anything skateboard related.

“This was my first visit to AE and I'm sad I hadn't visited prior to today! Their selection is incredible and they truly have everything that you are looking for. I needed to refresh my winter coat options and found many options worth considering here - as well as cute sweaters to get me through the rest of winter. Morgan helped me find the best options and her knowledge on every product she showed me was incredible and so helpful! “We went in looking for softball pants. A young man approached us right away asking if we found what we needed. We told him what we were looking for. He left for a few minutes and returned with two tubs of softball pants for us to look through. Such great service! We found what we needed!”
“Just picked up my first suppressor, and there is a good selection of guns with typical pricing. Not going to find any killer deals, however, but you find just about everything in one spot less SBR and 50BMG. Witnessed there high end selection slide in the last 3 years.
They do not sell any SBR nor do they support any Form 1, they will not let you have your prints either and when purchasing my suppressor they added some paperwork to cover their asses from stupidity, "yes I understand suppressors get hot". They need to stock more of the little things, pic rail accessories, more stuff in hand so we can see for example they sell the holosun DRS th but they don't have one to see, so I bought it elsewhere that did have it to see.
If I had it to do over I probably would have bought my suppressor at local guy, would have been same price and less CYA paperwork.”

“Great location, lots of clothes and items to choose from, but I didn't find much I liked. Most of the designs I liked were the new polyester athletic material and I'm not a big fan of those. The cotton or vintage shirts were all weird designs that I didn't particularly like. If you like the polyester clothing, you'll be right at home with a huge selection. I ended up with a vanity plate for my car and am very happy with it!”

Having previously worked in retail, I know the pain of last minute customers and it would have been completely understandable to be visibly annoyed with me but these two were not.
