“They were closing! It was close to 9 pm and I was still shopping. I greedely hugged my cart as i pushed it meticulously down each aisle. There were just so many sale tags posted that caught my attention. Honestly, it was not my fault. I not once, however, felt rushed, hurried, or scoffed at. Employees helped me along the aisles and at checkout. They even brought my groceries out to the car in the cold weather after 9 struck the hour. Where most stores/companies have lost customer appreciation, the Fareway of Waverly put the appreciation back into this customer with their patience and their willingness. Walmart just lost another consumer because Fareway is closer, less traffic, and the meats... ARE fresher, I mean, they just are!
To the young fellow that helped me put my bags onto the red van that late night:
I was abandoned by my previous ride. Frustrated and embarrassed, I called for another ride. Thank you for waiting with me and making sure you finished out you task evèn though your shift had ended already. You went above and beyond to make sure I didn't feel alone and left behind. Good job, Waverly Fareway, in training your staff members to not only do required jobs but jobs that also include doing the right thing after hours and even when no one else is looking.”
