“Growing up on the northeast side of Waterloo, Corks has become a staple in the area. I can almost remember when it opened about 40 years ago. We bought milk and bread, deli meat, cases of pop, and kegs of beer there. The prices have always been very reasonable for a small store. Even when living across town, I traveled to Corks for fresh deli meat and other specials. From what I gather, the cigarette prices are some of the lowest around. Their homemade deli sandwiches are great, and some are exceptional values. I was worried that when new owners took over, things would change drastically. There have been some changes, nothing to disappoint. While I really miss some of the previous employees, some have remained, and the new owners are outgoing, helpful, and nice. Definitely recommend.”
“Good place to go. Friendly service, good selection. While the price of milk there is markedly higher than Walmart, I'll pay the difference because..it's not Walmart. Easy to get to, easy to get what ya need, easy to pay and leave out when done.”

“Started shopping here again. Prices are reasonable. The only thingis fresh mears you can get wrapped up how you want it. I go to Fareway for alot of my meats. Yes you need a quarter to get a cart, but when you out it back you get the quarter back. Part if their way to keep carts corralled and not all over the parking lot. Also bring your own bags or boxes to package your groceries. They do sell bags if needed.”
“Not a huge drinker, so it is really nice that the employees are very helpful when I am looking for something. Last time I was in I was looking for mead, and they were able to help me find it right away. Not a huge selection of mead, but still more than I expected. Plus it is convenient to be able to also pick up a few items from the store and check out in the wine and spirits.”

“I slipped and fell in this store by the restroom entrance, a few years ago. I got hurt really bad and was injured for awhile. I do not shop at this store anymore, but I still shop in their other stores. I like the items in the store and I dont mind the prices. Just because I fell, I still like Dollar General.”

“This place was my introduction to authentic Bosnian food and it was a delicious and decadent experience. It is so amazing that Waterloo has such a gem in this town. I was recommended to go here by a Bosnian friend of mine in Cedar Rapids and I am so glad I listened. They have fresh items made in the morning like the Burke. It is so soft and savory. They also serve really good Turkish coffee. The searing is limited because of the small space but the vibes give you the “back home” type of feeling.”
