“Every aspect of our experience at The Venue in Leawood was top notch. We recently held an open house celebrating the life of my incredible mother in the Parkway Room at The Venue. I am still receiving compliments about it. We wanted a nice place, good location, and we didn't want to do much of anything. We sure scored the right place! We met with Elizabeth beforehand and went over our wishes, and met again a week or so before the event. We decided to serve finger foods (they have on-site chefs), beer and wine, and assorted non-alcoholic drinks. We picked from an extensive list of wonderful choices. The day of the open house, everything was perfect. Everything was clean and well-organized. Tables and chairs, linens, centerpieces, display tables, easels, audio and video technology, a bartender and other staff to assist and to clean-up. There's a separate entrance, dedicated bathrooms and coat closet. The entire experience was flawless. We knew exactly what we were paying for. Elizabeth was extremely kind and easy to work with. I wouldn't hesitate to return here for another event. Highly recommend!”

“I've been going to the uptown since the 90s. It's always been a bit grungy, but the staff is always top tier. The stage seems pretty small, so when they have a band like the flaming lips or even Bright Eyes it can look pretty cramped. I've never noticed the stage impact a performance though. The seats are nice and comfy and the free parking is one of the best deals in this city.”

Learned a few new techniques (proper whisking, how to save an overcooked hollandaise) and Chef McPeake was an engaging, entertaining teacher throughout.
This particular class came quite pre-prepared - most chopping, measuring, etc had been done in advance - which made it very convenient to enjoy the company of the group I went with, but also meant we weren't required to... DO... a lot. I'm considering some of their "Pro" series to get some more skills-development.

We had a fantastic time and we are definitely going back. The atmosphere is super cool, there's an elegance to it that makes it the perfect place for an anniversary or celebration, yet there's a casual friendly feeling that you know could stop by with friends, have a cocktail, an appetizer & relax. The drinks were fantastic, the food was spot on, & our bartender Evan was super helpful with picking food & offering suggestions on different wine & cocktails to try.

“My wife and I were there from early March to early July. We had to have our house repaired, because of somebody driving a car into it. This place was very friendly and very clean. The the people were great to be around, and friendly, and know your name. I'd like to give a shout out to Scott the manager, Carmen the daytime receptionist who always had a big smile, Carrie the evening lady that would check you in. She knew your name and was interested in your life. The cleaning crew , always did a great job , sorry if I missed anybody . I know a lot of construction people stay there. But so do families I would highly recommend this place. The whole staff is great. Whenever we needed something they were right there.”

“I had my wedding reception at Park Hall. Terri and her crew were amazing! Terri made the whole process so easy for me. She supplied all of my decorations along with setting up and tearing down the event. Terri made my ideas come to life and the whole place was everything I could have imagined and more for my wedding.”
“Enjoyed watching the cowboys bull riding and bronco riding. Alot of fun. Food was good too. The BIG clown that rode a SMALL motorcycle up a short ramp and jumped over 2 cowboys laying on the ground was funny to watch. He had a Evil Knevel outfit on and made it fun to watch.”

We were celebrating our 25 year anniversary and received a nice card from Shannon, front desk. That was a really sweet gesture! The breakfast food was excellent and the hours were great for those that like to sleep in.”

“The museum is beautiful inside and out. I'd recommend this stop for kids approximately 6 years old and younger. While both my 4 year old and 8 year old were engaged in the exhibits, it was lacking for my oldest. He expressed multiple times that it was small and there wasn't much there. Although my youngest definitely enjoyed the interactive exhibits. All that said, I do believe it is well worth the $5 admission.”
