“This Food City offers plenty of fresh food to choose from, and they even have bison hamburger patties, which I really enjoy. The only thing I hope they improve on is the stock of certain items. I haven't been able to get the Foid Club grape mix with caffeine, and it's been two months, and they are still out. I hope they haven't stopped making it.
This Food city is very clean and has the cafe with places to sit and eat. They also have a deli and Starbucks.”

“I'm from SC and have never been a fan of IGA until I moved to Hi Hat several months ago. This is a great little store within 10 miles of my home with the most friendly and helpful staff. I recently had surgery and cannot lift more than 10 lbs, the staff has no problem loading what I need into the buggy and into the car all while wearing a huge smile and a great attitude...I really appreciate that! Yes it's limited in selection and a little pricey but they have a great meat dept, the produce is fresh, the digital coupons help quite a bit and considering that the closest Super Wal-Mart is Paintsville or Pikeville, I have quickly become a fan of my McDowell IGA!!!”

“Food City offers good deals on meats, especially with the 5 for 2O, which I use those meats for breakfast mostly with the exception of the chicken legs and hamburger meat. Some items, however, are cheaper at Walmart, so you learn where to go for what item.One area Food City offers more is the savings from the Food City rewards card. It saves on certain items, and it also offers fuel bucks to use at the pump.I have the Walmart plus membership, as well, and you get 10 cents off of every gallon of gas no matter what, while Food City's fuel saver is determined by how much you spend in store.Walmart has better prices on water while Food City has better offers on milk.The biggest advantage that Food City has over Walmart is that they have a selection of fresh meats and different variations of seasonings on some of them, while Walmart only offers deli meat for sandwiches.Food City also offers certain fruits and vegetables for 5 for 7.99.I”

“This review was for MCDOWELL IGA......The people who work here are incredibly nice and helpful, they help pack groceries to the car when needed. There is a game section for kids and a delicious bakery with hot meals available. They do amazing work on birthday cakes and yes they have the licensed theme cakes as well, everyone goes above and beyond for any and all customers!”
