“While replacing my bathroom faucet, I realized that the old valve to faucet connector also needed to be replaced. It was late in the day and didn't really feel like going to HomeDepot, so I went to my local hardware instead. They sold me the connector, but unfortunately it didn't fit. I needed a half inch connector at both ends. One end fit, but the other didn't. They tried to sell me an adapter, but the adapter was almost as much as the connector itself. Ended up returning the item with no issues. It then occurred to me that Ace Hardware may have it since it's a bigger store. Sure enough, they did! The staff at this store were friendly and greeted me soon as I entered. They didn't take me to the aisle, but directed me right to where I could find the right size connector.”

“After being let down last minute by another location, Jeff and his crew (from the Biddeford location) really came through with flying colors for my daughter's wedding pictures!! I had rented a tent, 7 tables and 40 chairs - signed a contract in June - only to be told 2 days before delivery (in September), that the other location no longer had tents available for rentals, and I should have gotten a call (I didn't). Jeff called the other location, and got my whole order, arranged to have it delivered, threw in a second tent because he hadn't had time to verify the ordered size was in good order, made sure we had stakes and sledgehammer, all with a little more than day's notice... and then called me afterwards to see how everything went, and to let me know it had been picked up after the event!! He went so far above and beyond and I will be forever thankful that he/they made a miracle happen! Thank you so, so much for your EXCELLENT customer service!”

“Ok so I usually don't review a box box store but this is a special situation. The customer service went above and beyond this time! I purchased a colored prelit Christmas tree from the Home Depot. I waited a week before I realized that the top two thirds didn't work due to faulty wiring. When I returned the tree to exchange it for another they were all out of the same priced tree. The staff scoured the whole store looking for one but couldn't find one for me. Feeling kind of bummed I went and picked out the next pre lit tree that had colored lights and it was more expensive than the one I purchased. While the woman was processing my return she mentioned it was more expensive and I said "Yes I know but I'm having my family over for Christmas dinner and would like to have a tree." I know you're all saying I could have found one on the internet but I really feel like supporting local. Even if it's at Home Depot-the employees work and live in my community. I've heard it's said if you spend $1 at a local store then 60 cents stays in that community. After looking again, the customer service staff ended up giving me the tree as an even exchange, I was blown away! Wouldn't you know I misplaced the receipt and only just found it-passed the expiration date for the survey so that's why I'm "Yelping" them. To the customer service staff, you might never read this, but thank you for your incredible customer service and kindness-your gesture made my home feel filled with the spirit of Christmas when my family came over. I truly appreciate what you did, proving it's the person in the orange apron that is the best of Home Depot. As it is with all businesses small and large. Support local and keep your money in your community!”

“We went to see selections of bath and shower hardware for our bathroom. We needed a custom size shower and wanted something better than Home Cheapo or Lowe's. This was a very nice two floor display of different fixtures from the basic to the sublime. We were able to order what we needed and our plumber picked it up two weeks later. Don't go if you're looking for cheap. It's been over a year and the shower continues to satisfy our needs. Service was excellent.”

“I ran into a plumbing issue today which required me to make an emergency run to the hardware store. Try getting a plumber to come out on a Friday even at 5PM on new years weekend. I spoke to the young man who was working and asked if he knew anything about plumbing. He said he did and not only did he help me pick out different items so I could have options in the event something didn’t work, but he gave me pointers which were spot on. Everything worked out well thanks to his input.”
