Pet Grooming

The Fairy Dogmother LLC
11 Sanborn St, PortlandJanelle does an incredible job with our standard poodle—he absolutely loves going to see her, and he always comes back looking perfect. She’s not only talented with grooming but also incredibly kind and gentle with him (especially when he doesn’t love getting his face shaved!) Thank you Janelle!

Back Cove Animal Hospital
55 Baxter Blvd, PortlandNo wonder Back Cove has the highest rating on Yelp. If I could, I’d give more stars. The staff and vets are very friendly. I have autism so them smiling a lot helps me understand how they’re feeling. I’d like the waiting room to be more “homey” but I’m not deducting stars for that since I care more about the treatment.

Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care
2255 Congress St, PortlandWe feel we are in good hands with PVESC.
Dr. Charbonneau spent plenty of time with us, going over his findings and discussing options for our dog's care.
Also, Becca has been so great to work with, and remembered us from our last dog who used to see another specialist.
She has always been very helpful from scheduling to the appointments. She is personable, knowledgeable, super helpful and overall terrific!
We also appreciate the discharge instructions which are incredibly helpful. Visits can be stressful, so a summary afterwards is priceless.

Agrodnia Marta D DVM
739 Warren Ave, PortlandThe waits are pretty long and the fees are expensive, but they saved my kitty's life. After our regular vet misdiagnosed her, we brought my sweet middle-aged cat here where they brought her back to health. Now, just a few days after she was about to die, she's at home and playing with her toys. She wouldn't be alive without them. I will say, they need more vets. From what I've come to understand, they may only have one actual vet there at a time, and vets that do specific testing are only there on certain days, so it may take hours to days to truly find what's wrong with your animal. Still, they didn't push us into surgeries do have official diagnoses. When it was pretty clear what was going on, they just treat the animals for that instead of trying to pressure owners into the extra testing. The fees are crazy expensive. We couldn't really afford it, but having my precious angel home and on the road to health is worth it. So, if you can't get into your regular vets and are having an emergency, from my family's experience, your animal is in good hands.

Happy Tails
119 Bishop St, PortlandWe love Happy Tails! We've been using their daycare services for the last 7 months 3-4 days a week as well as multiple boarding reservations. Our dog Bernie is always happy to be there and comes home exhausted. All of their staff have a clear passion and love for animals and I feel good about leaving my dog with them. I would definitely recommend their services for daycare and boarding. They also offer weekend daycare hours which has been so helpful because of my rotating work schedule.

Allagash Brewing Company
50 Industrial Way, PortlandAllagash Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Portland, Maine in 1995. It was founded by brewer Rob Tod. Initially working as an employee for Vermont-based Otter Creek Brewery, Tod did everything from washing kegs, to cleaning tanks, to brewing beer. Although German and English styles were readily available throughout the United States, Tod realized that Belgian styles were harder to come by. He rented out a spot in the corner of a warehouse in an industrial park in Portland, assembled a 15-barrel brew system, and called it "Allagash Brewing Company" (named for the Allagash Wilderness Waterway). The first beer Tod brewed was a Belgian-style Witbier which he dubbed "Allagash White". The beer soon put Allagash on the map and it's still the brewery's flagship beer. Another brewer, Jason Perkins, was hired in 1999, and he helped the brewery develop a wider portfolio of Belgian-style beers. By 2010, Allagash had reached capacity and they moved to a larger space next door. Additonal expansions have occurred since then. As of 2025, Allagash is one of the most successful and well-respected craft breweries in the United States, with both the brewery and Allagash White receiving numerous accolades. A secondary taproom opened in nearby Scarborough in 2025. My extended family and I visited Allagash Brewing for lunch this past summer while we were vacationing in Maine. I've enjoyed Allagash White numerous times since I first became interested in craft beer, but not too many other offerings besides that. Once I visited the brewery itself, I realized that they have so many other offerings in their repertoire. The brewery was a very impressive facility with plenty of outdoor seating. In fact the whole street, Industrial Way, is a craft beer paradise with no less than five breweries. My family and I grabbed a table and then we ordered some drinks. I ordered a taster flight which featured "Farm to Face" (Peach Sour), "Once Upon an Orchard: Pawpaw Fruit" (Fruited Wild Ale), "Fox Leap" (Cherry Sour), and "From Maine, With Love #40" (Double IPA). I was very impressed with everything I tried! My wife enjoyed a pour of their delicious "Rosé Cider"; I had no idea that they made cider too! Bite Into Maine, an award-winning food truck, is also permanently parked at the brewery. My wife and I both ordered the "Fresh Maine Lobster Roll Flight" which featured three styles of lobster rolls: Maine (mayo & chives), Connecticut (just warm butter), and Picnic (coleslaw, butter, celery salt). They were out-of-this-world! Our sons both enjoyed some iconic Maine "Red Hots". Before leaving, I purchased a couple of bottles in the merch store to take home. We had a truly memorable experience at Allagash and we highly recommend them to anyone visiting Portland!

Schulte & Herr
349 Cumberland Ave, PortlandGetting to eat here felt like a gift. What an incredible meal I just had. To start I had the soup and potato pancakes. Both flawless and delicious. For my main I had the schnitzel with potato salad , kraut, and cucumber salad. All PERFECTION. tasted just like moms and reminded of our time in Germany. I can’t belive I’ve not heard of this place sooner.
Comfy cosy vibes with warm service. Matched only by its great food and BYOB. ALREADY craving more cucumber and potato salad from here. Looking forward to sharing this place with my family!!!

Allagash Brewing Co, 50 Industrial Way, PortlandThe lobster roll flight was just the right amount of food to sample the three varieties offered. Nura Hummus and Falafel
1 Monument St. Path, PortlandHad a wonderful lunch here. The pita was fresh, soft and packed full. It held together perfectly and didn’t fall apart prematurely. The falafel in my wife’s salad was amazing also!
The people who worked there were friendly and helpful and even brought our food directly to our table with a smile.
I’ll definitely be stopping in again.

Wayside Tavern
747 Congress St, PortlandSome like old antique places and find them charming. I do not. Our server was wonderful in my opinion and the food runners. All food was prepared well. My issue was amount of options and flavors. Interesting flavors did not love. Quality preparation. Very few drink options if you aren’t drinking alcohol. Their menu rotates so maybe it’s better on a different menu.

Austin Street Brewery
115 Fox St, PortlandAustin Street Brewery is easily one of the best breweries in Portland, and it’s not hard to see why. Their draft list is always a perfect mix of classic favorites and exciting new releases, making every visit feel both familiar and fresh. Whether you’re in the mood for a crisp pale ale, a juicy IPA, or something experimental, there’s always something worth savoring. During my visit, they were even running a case sale, which felt like hitting the beer lover’s jackpot—great quality and great value all in one stop.
The atmosphere at Austin Street is another highlight. You can grab a seat indoors and enjoy the laid-back, friendly vibe, or head outside to the cozy patio, where gas fire pits keep things warm and inviting even on chilly evenings. It’s the perfect spot to unwind with friends or just relax with a pint. I can’t wait to come back and see what they’re pouring next!
