“Decided to stop in to get some proper running shoes for an upcoming race, and I’m so glad I did! The place was pretty busy, but I was helped quickly. Lucy was amazing—she took the time to explain what I should be looking for in a running shoe and really knew her stuff. She made the whole process super easy (especially for a beginner runner like me) and helped me find the perfect pair. Highly recommend this spot if you want knowledgeable staff and a smooth experience!”

“We purchased 2 of these for our girls (black Lab puppies) last fall to protect them during the hunting season. They put a lot of miles on them out in the back 40, and except for them coming unbuckled once in awhile, we have had no issues with them. The girls accept them being put on, really get excited when we do, as that is a key that we are going for a woods walk, swim, etc. Even though hunting season is over, we still put them on. True, a black Lab stands out against the snow, but these blaze orange vests help us keep track of their whereabouts as they scout the frozen tundra. We love it when we can buy American, get good quality, and not send $ and jobs overseas.”
“I just wanted to say that I’ve never personally been to a Johnson’s Sporting Goods store, but a couple years ago I reached out over Facebook messenger to ask them to help out a friend who’s JSG hat was ruined, and it was a hat that they wore every single day(we also live in NY so driving to the store wasn’t super possible at the time) and Carrie Johnson immediately helped me out by finding the same hat, and next day shipping it for us. That alone has to show the kind of people that run it, so thank you again Carrie I still very much appreciate your help.”
“I love this store! Not only are they amazing and really take the time to help you with whatever you may need but they did such a good job with my goalie stick fixing it and making it perfect. They even let me test it out before I brought it home again. Very satisfied and will always come in to get my sticks tuned up and restrung.”

“Maine Surfers Union is a good smaller sized shop that I've been to over the years. Each time I've dropped by Charlie and other staff have been helpful and super friendly. In fact, one time I really needed some Futures fins during a swell and couldn't make it to the shop for a while so Charlie offered advice over the phone to decide on my best size and arranged to meet up with me near my local surf break one early morning-how can you beat that for customer service?! When I walk into MSU one thing that pops into my brain is "quality" - good brands and well made products that you may need to pay a little more for at times, but will last. Haven't bought a board here, but am always curious what they have for shapes-they don't offer a huge selection of multiple racks full of boards but I like that they stock USA made quality options and they update on social media board orders arriving to give you a sense of what's available. Also offer some surf books, local coffee and local craft beer to go.”
“The best shoe store I've ever shopped in. Staff were pleasant, but Aaron went above and beyond, trying to get running shoes that would fit my wide feet. A great salesman and a super guy. Shopping there was 1 of the 2 or 3 highlights of my Maine vacation. Too bad South Portland wasn't closer to my home in Nova Scotia.”

“Customer service is always A+ had a return I took back because someone had taken back a fish finder that they broke and unfortunately the representative didn’t check the return throughly and I wound up with it. However upon me exchanging it customer service did not hesitate for a moment and gave me 25% off the item for the hassle. Brendan and all the guys in the fishing department make you feel valued and always giving you helpful advice. Those guys are very knowledgeable in their department! It would have been 5 star however it just feels like every time I’m in there I get harassed to sign up for the credit card or to put in an entry for a drawing. Other than that this place is EXCELLENT!”

Marissa was a HUUUGE help I was looking for a pair of taffy pink crocs so I called ahead and at first they said they didn’t have the crocs and 10 minutes later I get a call from Marissa telling me she found the crocs I was so excited and I really appreciate Marissa’s effort to helping me out finding my crocs!!! She was feeling a little out of the element and Madison, a store Manager saw us looking endlessly for clothes and thus approached us to see if we needed help. Madison made our day! She was kind, understanding, patient, friendly and anticipated the needs of my niece. She offered selections to try on and we felt valued! I would HGHLY recommend anyone to shop with Madison.
The store is clean, well stocked in various sizes. Really a fantastic store to find versatile clothing that goes from workouts to casual and business casual.”
“I've never had 1st class customer service as I have at the Maine mall store. Every time I stop in for custom hats for my business, Tom has helped me and I am honored to have his help. This guy knows his stuff and has helped me design my hats every time. I'd swear he's the owner because he is highly knowledgeable and believes in Customer service. Tom is top knotch. “Best place by far to get the equipment needed for any type of sports. New or used everything I've gotten for my kids or I worked great. Also, really good customer service. My son had grabbed a bat that he wouldn't have been able to use in his league. They pointed it out and helped us get the right one. I recommend always going here first. ???”
