“Very good quality neighborhood grocery store. There are very good quality products there. It also offers products from other continents.
Recommended even a year after my first visit.”
“Great, clean, well-stocked store for Turkish/Balkan foods. Nice collection of good brands with better prices than Yekta. The owner, Mino, is very helpful and does not hesitate to give an honest opinion of his merchandise if you don’t know which brand to buy.”
“Smaller than many other TJ's so the inventory choices are less. However, the prices are so much lower than ALL the other grocery stores. Love their GF bagels and breads.”
“Great store. Great variety of good food, especially the ready-to -go. But please train your staff that toilet paper does not belong on the floor. What woman wants to use toilet paper that's been on the dirty floor? All the rolls of t.p. we're not in the holder. Did the store lose the key? Please fix this asap.”
“It’s pretty incredible when they see an employee (Sarah register day shift) that you haven’t seen in 15 years as we changed the time we came in to shop and missed her day shift. After all that time, she was always so kind to our family. She remembered everyone’s name and asked specific questions of how we were doing.
That is just amazing.”

“I’ve lived in Bethesda for 24 years and, honestly I can say that I’ve only visited the market a handful of times. I wanted to buy something special and different to my 30 year old son who loves dressing up for work and dates (girls just love how gentlemanly he is?). I thought “ties”. So I went to Neiman Marcus, Dior and Channel stores at the Galería Mall in Tyson’s Corner. First, they are almost non existent; second, the few ties these stores have on display they ALL look just the same, nothing special, yes they are silk but again they ALL look the same, regardless of the brand. Price Tag $95-270. There is a suit store downstairs and they have ties but their quality and structure it’s just poor. Price tag $35. I was ready to look on-line and order from somewhere in Italy when a friend of mine called and asked to meet for coffee at the Starbucks on Wisconsin Ave- right across the women’s market. We grabbed our coffees and walked, next thing I know we entered into the women’s market my friend bought pastries and as we are about to exit through the side door I stumbled into these ties!! The lady (very friendly, educated and sophisticated- I must say) was finishing making a tie. She asked me to feel the quality and difference of the fabrics she uses: Italian,
American and Scottish designers’ wool, and even some eco-fashion French linen. They are really, really beautiful and handmade! I bought a couple immediately because since they are handmade they are unique and not too many, therefore exclusive. I’ve got my Italian ties made in Bethesda.”
“I visited today to grab something for lunch and grab some cashews, three employees were talking around shipments one of them looks kind manager. One employee answer my question showed me where are they however whole shelf was blocked by watermelon pallet. None of them offer me help I was struggling looking for unsalted cashews. Then I left and grab salad and checked out by the door and employee name Crystal was very pleasant smiling offer me if I need fork or spoon for my lunch. She made my bad experience to a great. God bless her soul she needs appreciation???”
“I visited Harris Teeter today for the very first time, and I was honestly impressed. The store is huge and beautifully organized, with an incredible variety of products to choose from. Everything looked fresh, from the produce to the seafood and meats. They even had oysters, vegan alternatives, and a wide selection of chips and baking goods. My personal favorite section was the tinfish selection, which isn’t something you see everywhere.
The store also has a Starbucks, a pharmacy, and even a second floor, which made the experience feel more like a destination than just a grocery store. There were samples being handed out, which was a nice touch, and the weekly specials offered some great deals.
The atmosphere was clean, colorful, and very well-kept. Every associate I interacted with was friendly and welcoming, which made shopping there feel even better. Another highlight is the parking situation. They have an underground parking lot with a two-hour limit, which is really convenient and safe.
Overall, Harris Teeter exceeded my expectations. Between the fresh selection, friendly staff, wide variety, and thoughtful layout, it’s definitely a place I’ll be returning to.”
“Very cheap but with decent but limited options. Has all the basic items and essentials. Automated checkout is extremely finicky and much slower than the human lanes.”
“Great store in Bethesda for buying alcohol. The man was super friendly and helped me find beer that I would like. He helped me pick out variety. This place was a quick stop with lots and lots of options for beer and wine. Will be returning here in the future for alcohol purchases.”

“I've been to a lot of Giants in the surrounding areas. This one is the closest to home. First let me say I'm glad they finally put the hot food buffet in this location.. All last year I had to drive to Wheaton for the Cod. BTW Fried Fish is off the chain!! Giants in Rockville is my go to grocery store though. Friendly staff, very professional. Anytime I've had to be reimbursed for something they've always kept their word and honored it. 5 stars all day‼️?”

“Small, narrow isles and super expensive items! Things that you can normally get half off but I guess you’re in an expensive area. Tiramisu is super good! Very similar to whoelsfood!”

“I like this store, but there are some basic things it doesn't carry. Like whitefish salad, either acme or ivy city, and port salut cheese,. I also didn't see store brand monterey jack, orly cheddar, swiss, munster, mozzerella. The gouda selection is also lacking. They only have family size of most cheerios and lots of other cereal, which are too expensive. I like the seating area, which seemed fairly large and completely empty. There are 2 levels of parking on ground and basement, but you need to take elevator or stairs to get to store. No escalator. Unlike most safeways, the produce and deli/bakery are on opposite ends of the store. Usually they blend into each other. Generally good selection. Central location walking distance to bethesda row, bethesda shopping center, Bradley shopping center including strosniders, bradley food and drug, breads unlimited, etc.”
“I haven't been to Safeway for over a month or two. Stopped by today and was glad to see that they had redone the floor, re-organized the 'self-service' area for better traffic-flow, upgraded the refrigerated cabinets (could feel the difference since the new ones seem to offer better insulation keeping the cold air in thereby keeping the products ( such as yogurt) fresher than before. Some of the merchandise was moved closer to their 'family', such as floral arrangements and more expensive flowers are now in the flower sale area...minor but thoughtful changes. Also, I'm glad that they've remembered to label the 'price' on the plants (there was no price shown for most of the houseplants in the old days). ??Overall, thumbs up for the changes.
Now if only they could keep popular items on the shelf or in stock especially when it's on sale, for example, 96 oz. Lactose free/ fat free Milk which tends to fly off the shelf ( small/short shelf for a neighborhood with many older customers who prefer to buy lactose free / fat free).
By the way, I could tell today some of the customers in line were annoyed that only 1 cashier( a person) was working on a busy Saturday. Thus, if you have many items in your cart or for whatever reasons you prefer not to use 'self-service', dah... bet you wonder why(I certainly did) the manager or supervisor couldn't just assign one of the customers-service rep. to open a register &serve as cashier when it gets too busy for 1 cashier?? Their competitor did just that in order to keep the line moving quickly (no lie, I watched him in action and was impressed that he took his job seriously keeping satisfied customers). ?”
“After seeing a number of negative reviews I wasn't expecting much. However, the pharmacist and the young woman working the cashier went above and beyond to help fill my prescription. I had some issue with my insurance and the girl at the cash register took the effort to and put all my information, and when we still had difficulties the pharmacist came out and tried to assist, provided very valuable information to help get the insurance added to my prescription, ended up saving me $400. Definitely this is a very good pharmacy with plenty of staff that are knowledgeable and attentive to customers. Don't believe the reviews who got irritated because they couldn't buy over the counter medication at the pharmacy ?”
“As compared to competitors, most WFs stores still keep their per pound rate on bananas at
.49
The Loss Leader is great device that keeps shoppers returning to browse for other potentials.
Unfortunate that the sprouted walnuts, almonds, & pecans in the BULK Aisle have been discontinued.
Those REALLY special flavor profiles motivated extra visits.
Almost all locations have comprehensive recycling for some categories that other stores don't accept.”
“I bought crème brule from them one night while working on getting my Russian passport 1 hour from WA DC. Their food was amazing I didn't know you get two per pack. I highly recommend their crème brule. You will not regret getting it.”
“The staff are this location is REALLY friendly and helpful. Typically, when the weather is nice, I go to the Sunday Bethesda Farmer's Market first and then walk 5 minutes to The Organic Butcher. Weekends, of course, are busier, but the wait is never long, and it's nice to look at all the specialty products.
If you're into hot sauce, they make in-house a really nice fermented hot sauce - follow them on social media so you know when the next batch drops.”
