“What's a pupusa? In a word, delightful! Prepare yourself for a petit (pita-sized) yet dense handheld treat. Warm masa dough is grilled and stuffed with beans and cheesy goodness (there are other varieties) then topped with red sauce and shredded cabbage. A neighbor introduced me to both Moriah and these affordable and filling honduran delicacies. The shop itself is unassuming, in fact you're likely to walk right by thinking it's closed if you don't know better. During my first solo trip, I was the lone customer inside and watched an elderly woman prepare and grill my pupusas with care and a smile. Everything is made fresh upon ordering so this isn't fastfood so to speak but your patience will be rewarded with handmade, quality deliciousness. We are lucky to have something so special in our neighborhood. Check them out!”
