I went to ACTUALLY buy just sugar, and was overwhelmed (in a good way, like a kid in a candy store) with options!
Prices are absolutely reasonable. I buy organic raw cane in the grocery store all the time, and I know a deal when I come across it!
On my next visit to Glut, I'll remember to bring my basket & containers for my bought supplies.

“I love wandering around in Rice Market - it feels like entering another world, with an incredibly comprehensive and fun selection of beautifully arranged food and home products. I work nearby and come for the hot prepared grab-and-go food, which tastes more like grandma's cooking than a restaurant. In cold weather, the outside terrace is empty, so you can enjoy delicious hot food in the refreshing cold and people watch for 10-15 minutes.”

“If you're looking for a true community hub with amazing prices, this is it. It’s a bit of a hidden gem, but the shelves are fully stocked with East African staples like lentils, specialty teas, and even tej (honey wine). I loved the smell of freshly brewed arabic tea the second I walked in. It’s clearly a favorite for locals, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Great value for authentic products you just can’t find at a standard grocery store.”

“Yesterday I had exceptionally great customer service from Jeremy who works at Traders Joes in NE DC. He truly went the extra mile and impressed me with his kindness and customer service skills. Because the elevator in the garage is out of service there and has been out for months, there are steps!! Carrying 3 heavy bags down a full flight of stairs and then to my car is a dilemma for me. He so kindly volunteered to help me by walking me to another elevator, loaded my groceries and even ran back up to the store and then back down to me in the garage because I had not validated my parking ticket. He was a true life saver yesterday!! So kudos and big thanks to Jeremy, you were ever so kind and truly helped me and I commend you for that!!”
“Parking on the 3rd floor in the back of the bldg. Elevator down to store in the back of the garage, over the store, and you can validate for 90min on a little machine after you're done checking out. There's a Naked Lunch there, which is missing from the one closest to my house. Yum! Groceries are on the pricey side, and there is a bigger variety of stuff that I typically buy.”

“Amazing little shop. Went in to check it out and found out they had so many different herbs. Walked out with some gensing. If you're ever in need of some Chinese medicine or want to learn little more about different things go check out this place and see what they have for your health.
They store also has a bunch of great food/ snack options. Also plant pots in the back and other good finds to check out.”
“I love Wegmans, but if you need to order a cake with photos, this is not a good place to go, they prepare your cake the day of the pickup, they don’t take account something may go wrong, I understand that it’s a mechanical error, but it has to be a better plan, I was expecting a picture cake and now because I couldn’t get it, my daughters 17th birthday is ruined! I could have gotten a refund, but than no cake! Please Wegmans have a better plan!”

“I’m usually in and out but they regularly have what I need. Never had an issue with employees here! One tip would be getting a self check out or hire more clerks to make the experience smoother. The latter would be the better move so folks keep jobs.”
