“I wanted to take the time to update my review. Today I went for a sale and my experience couldn't have been more perfect. Let's start with the supervisor, Nichole (I apologize if I spelled your name wrong). She greeted my daughter and I at the door and went straight into helping us. She was called maybe five times to handle/fix something and her demeanor never changed. My 12 year old daughter commented on that. To have a professional woman give a real life example, to a young teen, of how to run a business in the real world - thank you.
Next, Sam! Thank you for closing our the deal at the register. You greeted, made sure we found everything okay, and even did some problem solving for us.

“I had such a great experience at Ace Hardware, all thanks to an employee named Brian! I came in trying to figure out the right materials for a home improvement project, and honestly, I felt a little overwhelmed by all the options. Brian noticed I was struggling and immediately stepped in to help.
He was so patient, walking me through the different choices and explaining the pros and cons of each one in a way that actually made sense. He asked good questions about what I was working on so he could point me toward exactly what I needed, instead of just handing me the most expensive option. It was clear he genuinely wanted to make sure I left with the right materials for my project, not just a quick sale.
Customer service like this is hard to find these days. Brian went above and beyond, and it turned what could have been a stressful shopping trip into an easy, even enjoyable one. “I just purchased a Weber grill from Village Hardware during a brief in-store visit. The salesperson was really helpful in process and set up assembly and free delivery for me. I called back to confirm that I would have the needed parts to attach the grill to my natural gas line and was assured that I would.Rick assembled and delivered the grill this morning. He had the extra adapter that I needed for hook-up. He took time to thoroughly explain functions and maintenance and answered all of my questions. He even shared a recipe. “Wonderfully friendly people. Helped me out with a car key issue that both AutoZone and Advanced Auto Parts couldn't. I tried two instant key maker machines at Safeway and Lowe's which were both unsuccessful and my fix totaled out a low price and no time at all. I always check here first for general hardware supplies. While a small store, they surprise me with the abundant and varied supplies they do have on hand. Their friendly, knowledgable staff are always ready to help.
Today, I suddenly needed spray foam and spare keys. They had both.
Last week I needed window and door insulation, they had it.
Wood stain for furniture? Yep, they got it.
Car ice scraper? Yep, they have it.
I needed a special fuse for my electrical system. They didn’t have it. Nor did I expect them to have it. Yet looked just in case they might have it.
What a great addition to the neighborhood!”

“A Harbor Freight store serving the Alexandria area was needed for a long time. Like any other HF, you will likely find anything at this store as you will at another HF and at great prices. My only complaint about this location is the parking lot, as this shopping plaza was built when the area wasn't so built up. Getting in or out of the lot during rush hour can be a wait, and on the weekends parking can be difficult due to the other businesses.”

The gentleman working yesterday 5.23 morning left the store to open the usps door open as I was carrying several boxes. If that's how they treat a stranger not even entering their store I can't imagine how excellent their customer service is. Thank you again sir!”
“I initially went to Ferguson's warehouse in Alexandria and a gentleman was very helpful and referred me to their showroom near Springfield for more selections.. I just purchased bathroom fixtures from the Springfield showroom which has an expansive display. Bernie is an exceptional salesperson!! He spent so much time explaining brand features and options and I am so appreciative.”
“Darrell, an Associate in the Lawn and Garden department, is very knowledgeable and kind, genuine and easy to work with/talk to. He went out of his way to help my Mom and I with what we needed. “We’ve been visiting this Lowe’s over the past few weeks because we’ve been working on a lot of projects. The service is 99% amazing—the staff throughout the store are always helpful—but the garden department staff are especially friendly and helpful. On Monday, we had to pick up some pine trees and pavers, and this guy in orange driving the forklift did an amazing job! It was pouring rain that day, but he didn’t hesitate to provide excellent service!”
“Generally, it's a five star experience, but I had an awkward interaction today that brings it down to 4.
Two employees were bringing a chicken coop around the building. I asked if they were selling it, and instead of telling me the model and that it was available inside, they just told me I couldn't buy the display units. No other information.
Of course you can't buy the display units. I just wanted the coop. She then used to opportunity to tell the other employee to make sure people know they can't but the display units. It felt weird and condescending.
I had to go inside and ask another employee about it, then go back outside to point the coop out to that employee, all the while being awkwardly ignored by other two employees who had moved the coop.
I get that they may have been distracted, but the two employees moving the coop could have at least given me the model info or directed me inside. Very awkward.”
“I regret not coming here first! I had gone to 2 other stores beforehand and sadly they couldn’t help me. They say 3rd times the charm, and they weren’t kidding! Ferguson had the part I needed in stock and I was in and out within minutes. Thank you to the staff! You guys were awesome!”
“Went with Home Depot Waldorf for a flooring project that fell through when we lost the contract on a home. Stressed worried but Jessica Gardner came through, she was professional polite and took care of everything in a stressful environment. Also helping her was Kelly who was also so nice and helpful. “I stopped by the Pro Desk at Home Depot today to pick up some materials for work (I’m in the pest control industry), and I wanted to recognize an employee named Jake.
In the short time I interacted with him, he was one of the nicest and most considerate people I’ve met in a long time. He was incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming.
I’ve spent 20+ years in the restaurant business, from working in two Michelin-star establishments to even sports bars, and in that time I’ve interacted with millions of people. Because of that, I feel like I have a pretty good sense of when someone is showing genuine kindness versus forced customer service — and Jake is the real deal.
His hospitality really stood out to me and it shouldn’t go unnoticed. He truly made my day and I really appreciate the way he treated me as a customer.

“I placed an online order for a grill to be assembled in store and picked up so that my family could enjoy a cookout on mothers day. Unfortunately when the grill was picked up by a contractor of mine and delivered to my house, I noticed that the grill was assembled incorrectly and was also missing pieces. I contacted the store and asked to speak with a manager. Without hesitation I was transferred right away. The manager that came to the phone was Davion (Operations Manager) Davion listened to my situation, apologized for the inconvenience and immediately jumped in to action in efforts to turn my a bad situation into a positive guest experience. Talking about going above and beyond to ensure a customer is taken care of. Davion made sure that a brand new grill was assembled and delivered to my house within hours allowing my family to enjoy mothers day with out missing a beat. This was even more special because my grandmother is 97 years old and everyday is important to our family. This is a prime example of what outstanding guest service looks like.

Yesterday, my daughter and I went to the Ft Washington Post Office for passport renewal services. Victor was so professional, kind, efficient, and knew exactly what he was doing.
The Department of State sent us a letter that her passport renewal application was received, but we completed the incorrect form and provided us with the correct form and instructions for next steps.
Victor greeted us warmly. We had our part completed and Victor immediately knew what to do. What a breath of fresh air. I believe we were in and out within 7 minutes. I told Victor that he was a God-send. I was sharing this experience with a friend and she also commented that she has been serviced by Victor multiple times and the experience has always been phenomenal
