“Our family has been with the State Department Federal Credit Union (SDFCU we call it) for decades. We get good service by phone and email. Then I needed go in person to a branch.
I chose the Clarendon branch in Arlington, VA. The assistance I received was unparalleled. I learned how to better access the joint account with my mother, got good answers to several questions, and came away with two pages of checks to carry us over until the new checks arrived. A couple of days later I ran into another challenge online. Since I had the business card from my in-person visit, I left a message about the problem, and received a call-back explaining what happened, and then got help fixing it.
Good service is alive and well at the Clarendon Branch of the SDFCU. It put the smile right back on my face.
Plus: It's in a lovely location. There is easy parking (I chose underground parking for the usual fee), local eateries all around, and a Trader Joe's across the street.”
“This is an excellent credit union if you work at the PTO. They will help you get your direct deposit for pay, and your online bill pay set up. The onsite location makes it extremely convenient. They have all the typical services like money orders, cashier's checks, CDs/money markets, savings accounts, car loans, etc. No problems.”

I have been a customer of PenFed for a handful of years and I have never came across someone who set the golden standard like she did. She is an absolute gem and to say she is competent would be insulting, as she is the definition and representation of what a real professional in today’s lacking work ethic should be. From the moment I began my journey on my second loan, I knew I did not want to work with anyone else. She answered every single question I had and even my very challenging hypotheticals (which actually came to fruition). She did not hesitate, she did not give me a generic answer, she got down to business and gave me the purest and detailed answers I could possibly think of. She was not an order taker; unlike some other individuals I worked with.
She ran through various situations and really put my interest first, in the most genuine manner. Andrea’s work ethic, knowledge, and professionalism - simply does not exist anymore. She goes well above the standards and expectations. She sets them. I have not came across anyone within PenFed who has even come within the orbit. Once you get Andrea, you will realize that anyone else will not match her level of attentiveness, care, knowledge and above all else, the efficiency.
Only downside.. you will be stuck with the expectation of greatness.
Do yourself the favor and ask for Andrea. You will feel the luxury of having someone who is all about you, for you, that can deliver everything and more – with a smile.
Management. Please recognize Andrea. I hope you keep her as long as you can and thank you for being amazing and creating/fostering that environment. You have created an outstanding employee.
