Their customer service is great. Top notch. When you consider that these are college students, I would rate this CU a 10. I've been banking here since I was a student and let's just say that some decades have past since then. I always end up coming back. Tried the big banks and always end up closing those accounts to go back to the CU!”

UPDATE Dec 2025: I had a death in the family and John Rutherford took so much time and care to help me submit the proper documentation while clearly explaining next steps and treating me with empathy and real kindness. It was nice to be treated like a human being instead of just a customer. Big kudos and thanks to Mr. Rutherford for making everything way easier.”

“The Friendship Heights branch is on top of it, I had a fantastic experience. At first, the manager Michelle relocated a few employees to the teller counter in order to expedite the line which was forming. Very considerate. Isaiah helped me throughout the whole process, assisting me in ordering a new card. Unfortunately, we ran into multiple technical difficulties which prolonged my stay at the branch. Each employee recognized the inconvenience it was and eagerly offered help to diagnose and fix the problem. I felt cared for, understood, and prioritized. Isaiah is not only professional, he is a friendly and energetic employee to engage with. I hope Isaiah, Michelle, and every other employee who helped me will receive the credit they deserve for performing their roles with such care and dedication!”

I was surprised to find that they have Interest rates comparable to online savings accounts! Talk about something that made me move my money! I also love the staff at every Industrial Bank - especially my neighborhood bank on Good Hope and MLK. They are quick to answer questions about their products and have given me a great deal of information on how to set up my business account and how to maximize my personal accounts. If you are looking for a brick and mortar bank that has the interest rate that you can only find online and has the customer service needed when you're trying to understand financial products this is your place! As a person that has worked with larger banks, credit unions and online banks I have to say that industrial Bank is the first bank that I actually felt the need to write a positive review about.”
