“McCutcheon's products are legendary throughout the DelMarVaPa area for their quality. I have never had a butter or jelly made by them I didn't enjoy, and they make the best Apple Butter I have ever had. This review is of the retail location. It's a quaint multi room shop, very country/farmhouse in style staffed by very friendly people who know their product well. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the products they sell. I got my Apple Butter along with smaller jars of Apricot, Peach, and Whole Cherry jellies. The hard part will be not opening them before I get home next week. Very highly recommended!”
“It's so easy to shop here. It's pretty quiet, I've never felt cramped or over crowded, everything is easy to find (it's so sensory friendly). The cashier's and stockers are super pleasant and make conversation. Even customers tend to be a little more polite and concientious here. They use sturdy paper bags instead of plastic.
I like that there are coupons displayed on the service counter and there is a community bulletin board by the bathrooms.
They have a lot of grocery (and bakery) options for different dietary needs/restrictions. They carry some of the harder-to-find supplements and more natural/organic toiletries.
Overall, just a great store.”
“It is one of my favorite new stores to go to for Asian goods and products. They have a variety of things as well as a food court with at least 7 different places. I didn't sit there and count them.”
“It's a pretty nice commissary, although it is a bit small. It is located really close to the entrance on 7th, only two turns! It was fairly well stocked and had everything I was looking... with a few exceptions. Staff was polite and helpful! I'm use to having more self check outs, but two is fine for the size of the building, there are 6 other regular lanes that can be used. All in all pretty good stop at the commissary!”
“I like going here because it brings nostalgia to me of all of the times I would go to the little Asian grocery store with my mom. They are not big. They don't have everything you need. But they have most of the essentials at a fair price. Cool little mom/pop store.”
“Great local store. Parking is close to door. Employees are very friendly and helpful. It is becoming my new regular store. Good cheese selection, bread not bad, Fruit and veg usually something new and items on sale. Use to shop at Weis but the employees here are happier and more helpful.”
“Good selection of natural/organic items. It definitely comes with a price, many things are expensive but you know that going in. Some things are reasonable, bread, glass bottle milk, and bulk items.
One time we did get bulk item and there were bugs in it! We did return it but it’s put us off of using the bulk items. I’m not sure if it’s ever cleaned or checked.
Glass bottle local milk is the best. Bring the glass back for the credit you paid for it. Also really nice selection of chocolates and sweets.
We don’t buy meat there just due to price.
Overall good it is a good specialty store. Cashiers are nice.”
“What a great place! They had the most beautiful mum's in every color imaginable at a great price back in the Fall and I just bought a gorgeous spruce tree there for Christmas. Owners are amazing and so very attentive to helping their customers in any way they can.”

“Great place to do grocery shopping! Prices are fair, often lower than other grocers and quality is first rate. Friendly efficient staff, self service checkouts are also available. Plenty of parking in a secure location. 5 stars!”
“Amazing store!! I’m allergic to a lot of things and can’t usually find yummy things to eat at the bigger grocery chains, but mom’s organic market has opened my food options to so much!! The only thing I would wish for is more completely dairy-free, nut-free, egg-free options for things like frozen meals (especially breakfasts) but that is my only note really! Love love love this organic market!!”
“Enjoy shopping here. Better prices and selection compared to PA so it's worth the trip for most part. Very congested both inside and in parking. Terrible traffic which seems on par with every parking lot in that area. No flow. You'll be tired of people and driving afterwards.”
“Hi! I’m a FIRM believer in giving credit when credit is due AND acknowledgement for a GREAT work ethic (very rare these days). VALERIE is quite fantastic. I live in the neighborhood and shop at the New Design Giant quite often. Whether she is checking people out or at the self checkout area, she has always been most helpful and seems to always “go the extra mile” to be of service in any way she can. I SO appreciate this and I’m sure others do too. Like I said, I’m in the store often so to see this consistency and to take notice of it and then prompt me to write a review, well, that should definitely be a sign to management. Be kind to her and please give her recognition she deserves!! This means a lot to employees - don’t forget that! Thank you Valerie for trying and making a difference!!”
“PX has clothing and sales, barber shop, alterations, class VI, fast food and gas. Staff is top notch and will order if they do not have items in stock. 4 stars instead of 5 because though it’s tax free, many of the items you can find on other websites/stores for a cheaper price.”
“We love this place! So grateful to have it in our neighborhood. The nicest people working there, especially in the deli and bakery. Couldn’t ask for a better grocery store.”
“The older people are tired most of the time and the younger ones seem to be following too. Other than that, the store usually has professional staff and what I need, besides never having real mens razors like Gillette or Schick, but thats been years and Ive lost hope a long time ago. I’m fine with, not every store is perfect. I just go to Giant to get razors.”
“I like this Weis, it’s well stocked and the people are nice. It’s pretty easy to find stuff, usually not very crowded and is clean. They usually have someone working in the lanes so you don’t have to use self checkout- which I like because I usually have a lot of produce.
What more can you ask from a grocery store?”

“Great for organic foods & cheap prices on households. They are constantly changing the household stuff but you can't get most of it anywhere near Aldi prices.”

“The Pharmacy is fabulous and always tries to help with cost and give advice- my favorite Pharmacy in my area.
The grocery store unfortunately is one of my least favorite and I only pick up things when I have to go to the pharmacy as the people are not nice and I would rather drive further to get nicer people.”
“I've been a loyal customer of Jefferson Liquor Shop for years. The staff is super friendly, and they're always willing to help you find the perfect drink for any occasion. It's like a treasure trove for spirit enthusiasts!”
“Easy to get in get what you need and self check out! Also it’s not that much longer to wait for an actual cashier at a register. This is my go to place to get in and get out, also the Pharmacy is great!”
“Amazingly clean inside- wide aisles and many check out lanes. Some have staff, most automatic.
Prices are reasonable compared to other Maryland chains. Good stock of many items, produce was fresh. Bakery smallish.”
“First time in a Weis market. Just went in to browse. Everything 'looked' good, nicely organized, clean, and wide aisles. Was impressed since I only have Food Lion grocery stores near me to compare. Staff not so friendly, at least the ones we encountered. Next visit, I'll try the products and update my review.”
“If you've seen my latest check-ins and reviews, you know two things:1. I'm visiting Frederick, Maryland (where I lived from 1993-1998).2. I've been in the gym every day this month (October), sans Sundays. That being said......Weis was always my pit stop on the way to work for one thing: DONUUUUUUUUUTS!!!!I really don't have much to say about the store as a grocery store because it's pretty much what you would expect. But those DONUUUUUUUUTS!!! Lord save me...These are the best donuts I've ever had at a grocery store.Which is why I brought up Point #2. It's the last place I should be if I'm trying to lose weight. Hey, don't judge me. Mind your own bathroom scale. The assortment is great and they are ridiculously flavorful. Soft. Flaky. Huge.I could eat them all day! Which is why I'm going to be in that gym every day in November.Go to Weis, preferrably in the morning. Why?DONUUUUUUUUTS!!Enough said, I have another one to eat...”
“nice store and by far the best store for grocery pickup (walmart is horrible and slow). the only reason it is 4 stars is because every giant eagle i’ve been to is weirdly disorganized. both the one on 40 and the one on 7th street are a bit confusing until you get used to it.”
“I really like Dollar General for quick stops for medicine and snacks. Prices are better here than at grocery stores. I'm finding soda and candy prices to be high lately. I did not find prices here to be lower on those items at all with the exception of the dollar candy selection. Lots of choices are available and you can find almost any candy you are looking for. This is a great place for stocking up in those cold winter months on soup, vegetables and baking items. Shop early for Thanksgiving to save the most money. I enjoyed my shopping today. The temperature inside is usually too hot for me cutting my trip short but was comfortable on this day. Friendly service and smiles from Julie concluded my time here. Thank's for providing convenient, close, low cost items to local shopper's. Check out the dollar isle for some National brands at great prices!”
“Has the best selection of craveable tasty snacks that we really probably shouldn't eat too often. Yum. Parking ample and just a short hop and a skip and you're in the store. Lots of salty crunchy choices and sweets of all types even not bad ice cream selection. Also has household items some clothing, and affordable greeting cards. Will definitely be back, hopefully not too often.”
“I just went into this grocery store just to use the bathroom for once I got in there I didn't want to leave it was so much to see in the store I didn't know that a small grocery store like this will have so many Fresh Products you need to check it out”
“This location had what I needed and had no difficulty in finding my items in the store.
The only concern was the lack of open and ready to check out lanes that were open, especially when I had fridge and frozen items in my cart. I didn't wait in line too long, but I feel that this location needs to either hire more cashiers or consider setting up a couple of self check out spots for customers.”
“I am surprised how much stuff they fit in this little market and they often have what I need in a pinch. Just wish they would enforce the no parking in front of the building because it is impossible to see traffic coming at that intersection when a customer ignores the no parking signs.”
“My experience may or may not be unique. I had to wait on a friend/ mechanic for hours to pick me up so I was dropped off here by the State Trooper, since my car had shutdown on Dual Highway! I had to sleep in my car overnight. I spoke to the manager, Rich told him a few specific details leading to my arrival there & that I needed somewhere to sit for a few hours for the day. The State trooper offered me a courtesy ride to a Starbucks nearby, this location happened to be inside of this Safeway. He placed me in a comfortable sitting space out of the way undisturbed other than friendliness and empathy from the staff and other customers! He purchased me a deli turkey sandwich along with chips. I was hungry! I appreciate that. He was so thoughtful, understanding, and dependable. Again, this may not be the same experience for anyone that may have a similiar story.
I also stopped at the Starbucks inside, which I only wanted hot water. The company's store policy required that I purchase a whole drink even if the barista's wanted to just give me a hot water they followed the rules and had their team lead explain to me this rule. I respect that action. So I stepped away to check my account. A lady behind me over heard my conversation and offered to buy my tea. I wanted a Toffee Nut Latte instead so I asked if she could purchase that instead, which she totally did happily! These kind gestures made my day all the better while I waited for hours for my ride to fix my vehicle. I witnessed great customer service, high vibrational customers and high spirited energy which always creates a superior customer service flow! Kudos Safeway & Starbucks!”
