A recent story sums it all up for me:
I was quoted for brake replacement, and was comfortable with the price. I gave the OK to start work. Cathy called me back a few hours later to let me know that she had made a mistake with the estimate, and accidentally quoted me $100 over the true price. She apologized and gave me the new total. I don't think there are many auto shops that would have the integrity to do that.

Clear communication with me, and all items needed were in stock (which is why you would go to the dealership for service IMO- to avoid after market or waiting for parts). “The people were very helpful and friendly, the service area was clean, service was quick, and explained well. However $80 for an oil change is pretty steep, adding insult to injury, they charge 3% extra if you want to use a credit card! I have never seen a dealer not absorb the cost of using a credit card.”
