“My wife of 15 years being from Thailand needs products from her region sometimes not necessarily from Thailand. We have been customers for years after Thai Market closed in downtown Silver Spring. Always friendly and generally have the spices and condiments she likes to maintain.”

“Thomas Market — The BEST Greek feta in DC. Tired of tasteless feta you get at the super market? No matter if you go to Whole Foods, Giant or Wegman’s, their flavorless “Greek” cheese tastes like hardened mayonnaise. The crazy part is Thomas’ authentic Greek barrel feta costs way less than the fake garbage sold at grocery stores. Once you try Greek salad with real feta, Thomas market will be a regular stop. Expert tip: Ask for the cheese to be packed in brine. Check out the prices on lentils. Amazing.”

“My first visit to this location it was pretty busy on a Saturday and afternoon parking was tight. The hot foods dining area was pretty small. They seem to offer like eight different types of soup. They had some premade dishes and dishes available. I picked up a couple onigiri, marinated eggs, seaweed salad, and some pickled ginger.
Tons of options of miso and kimchi, noodles, dumplings, ramen, galore. I picked up a few kinds of kelp, some wakeme and some kombu.
All of the fresh fruits and vegetables were really impressive. They had tons of different types of mushrooms and it was pretty cool to see some variety packs available.
Lots of fresh durian, even small already cut and prepped.
The meat and seafood areas were impressive as well.”

“This update review is mostly for the deli department. We recently volunteered to take deli platters to a memorial/remembrance gathering at a friend's home. We went to the deli counter and the manager, Jeff, was called out to help us. He showed us the book with the platters offered. We knew we wanted the mini deli sandwiches. When we mentioned a number of people at the event would be Jewish Jeff said he could substitute more turkey and roast beef sandwiches for ham. He then pointed out a mini croissant platter with chicken, tuna and egg salad sandwiches which we added to our order. Then we thought a fruit platter would be perfect too. After we got home I decided a cheese platter would be a nice addition so we called and added that to our order. I was so happy when we picked up our platters. They were perfect. Jeff did explain they had run out of mini croissants so substituted two small trays of full size. That was fine. Condiments aren't included so we got some of those and some mini cupcakes from the bakery before we checked out. When we got to our friend's and started setting up the table I was so pleased with the way everything looked. The fruit platter was particularly amazing, just beautiful. I thought there was way too much food but apparently the younger generation who stayed later than us had a second go around and the next day there was just some cheese left! A few days later we went to complement staff on everything and someone pointed our Debby who was the one who created them and were were able to thank her in person.I love this Giant. The staff has always been friendly and helpful from the meat department manager, to the staff in the seafood section, to the ladies at the self-checkout section, etc. Definitely my go to grocery store.”

“Giant Food at Wheaton is great for me. Its grocery offers are very comparable in price and quality to Safeway.
Albertsons.
Giant accepts my OTC health card and my bank card. Safeway store declined OTC in January 2025 and I was directed to Giant, and I am very satisfied with the change.
