“The food prices at Giant food continue to rise. When there are sales on food and you get to the register . It rings up a higher price for the food. You must constantly monitor Giants charging and cash register practices . Lots of
do not get the sale price at all.”
“I ordered online on the night of Dec 25; they shipped morning Dec 26. Packaging was excellent! Got it Dec 30, right thru the holidays. Faster than Amazon AND found something that Amazon was selling way more expensive (juice from Europe). I am happy to have found this little known store. Will buy again.”
“There are only a few shops in the DMV that offer a diverse array of European products, baked goods, delicious meats, and quality service from knowledge staff; European Delight has them all. Every visit, we discover something new worth bringing home. I highly recommend them!”
“Always a fun shopping experience and great prices. If you're not in a mad rush, engage the checkout folks in a conversation. They're invariably friendly and talkative.”
“Love Roots! I use shop there all the time but unfortunately, food is so darn high! They do have specials for members! They've brought back Teachers Tuesday's and added Senior Wednesdays, I'm both! 😍 It's also less than a 5 minute drive from my home. It's great to have a an option to get healthy food when I can. Oh, did I mention you can fill up your containers at their water🚉 #foodbar

“The staff are this location is REALLY friendly and helpful. Typically, when the weather is nice, I go to the Sunday Bethesda Farmer's Market first and then walk 5 minutes to The Organic Butcher. Weekends, of course, are busier, but the wait is never long, and it's nice to look at all the specialty products.
If you're into hot sauce, they make in-house a really nice fermented hot sauce - follow them on social media so you know when the next batch drops.”
“The two TJs on Wisconsin are a hit rundown with many missing items and the shelves not in order. I fave 4 stars for the chain reputation more than the actual valuation of the 2 stores I visited”
“I usually don’t write reviews, so that should tell you how impressive these guys are. We live in CA and order from them regularly. They have a huge selection of quality products. My daughter wanted an MD fruit drink in a glass bottle, and they wrapped it with incredible care. They shipped multiple other glass items, like polos and sprats, all the way to CA, and everything arrived in perfect condition.
I highly recommend Grocerylanka, whether shopping in-store or online. If they can impress my mom, they’re doing an outstanding job. Keep up the excellent work!”
“I love Rodman’s! There is always something new to find. Their selection of coffee and tea is excellent. I also have to give kudos that they have Bethesda Bagels in the bread section now! As well as baguettes from Bread Furst. Saves me a trip. Thank you!!”
“Where do I begin?? Amazingly eye-catching! I really appreciate finding jewels like this in the community.
Food co-op Glut is a MUST VISIT!!!
I went to ACTUALLY buy just sugar, and was overwhelmed (in a good way, like a kid in a candy store) with options!
Prices are absolutely reasonable. I buy organic raw cane in the grocery store all the time, and I know a deal when I come across it!
On my next visit to Glut, I'll remember to bring my basket & containers for my bought supplies.
Next time you're in northeast DC to southwest MD check it out! You won't be disappointed!!”
“Staff is super helpful, shelves are always well stocked. Store footprint is large enough that this TJs has all of the basics (produce, paper products, etc) every day and usually has all of the seasonal items any given month.
Parking lot is busy unless you're there in the middle of the day in the middle of the week or very early on a weekend. Just be prepared to park several rows over and walk.”
“Amazingly friendly and helpful staff always going above and beyond for customers! I’ve come to this location for quite a while and have never been disappointed with their selection, produce quality, and staff.”
“I absolutely *love* this market in Bethesda! It’s a true hidden gem, offering an incredibly authentic Mediterranean shopping experience with *everything* you could possibly need. From fresh groceries to specialty imported goods, this place has it all—and at prices that are **more than reasonable**!
One of the best things about this market is its **unique selection**. I was thrilled to find **specialty chocolates and desserts** that I had been searching for everywhere else with no luck. The fact that they carry such rare and delicious treats makes this place a must-visit for anyone who appreciates Mediterranean flavors.
Another huge plus? **Convenient street parking** makes it easy to stop by, whether you're grabbing groceries or picking up some amazing prepared foods to enjoy at home.
Honestly, shopping here feels like stepping into a bustling European market—warm, welcoming, and full of incredible finds. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out! **Highly, HIGHLY recommend!** ?”

“If you're looking for a true community hub with amazing prices, this is it. It’s a bit of a hidden gem, but the shelves are fully stocked with East African staples like lentils, specialty teas, and even tej (honey wine). I loved the smell of freshly brewed arabic tea the second I walked in. It’s clearly a favorite for locals, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Great value for authentic products you just can’t find at a standard grocery store.”
“The jumbo shrimp $8.99/lb deal is such a treat! And the shell-on is great, because you can make a court bullion shell stock and poach them in it, like I did. A dab of spicy cocktail sauce ?Delicious. The Jailbreak IPA deal made it perfect”
“A bit pricey, but totally worth checking out. Their dessert section is the best, I love their coconut cookies and different kinds of Baklava. Definitely worth trying at least once.”
“I love shopping at MOM's Organic Markets. Shop here at least once per week. Their produce is great, especially the loose Organic carrots. I also love the daily bread. Very nice to drink coffee while I shop!”
“Flowers! Flowers! Flowers! And I love the produce, goat milk, large chocolate bars, and tons of other stuff. I first shopped at Trader Joe's in 1979 in Santa Monica, CA.”
“The best lil market for basics and treats. If you need special items it’s probably best to go elsewhere but it’s a great local spot that’s welcoming and is always a pleasure to visit”
“I love Roots and highly recommend this store for a number of reasons. I have been shopping at Roots since it opened and can bear witness to their consistent commitment to make the shopping experience better for every customer. I live approximately 1 hour away but make the trip a couple of times a month to shop here. Why do I drive so far? Because the customer service, selection and sales are top tier! I will share just some of my experiences shopping at Roots Market.
I am a healthcare professional who worked through the pandemic. At a time when we didn’t know much about the virus, I decided that it was best if I did not enter the store for the staff’s and customer’s safety. I would arrive after a long shift with scrubs on. I stood outside of the door with a list. The team members would collect my list and gladly shopped for my items bringing them outside to me. Additionally, every item that I have ever requested has been brought in without hesitation. I have been a plant based traveler for over 3 decades and often have opportunities to try a variety of new products. I have requested everything from Rebel and Dare plant based cheese to Abbots plant based proteins. Within weeks they were all there!
I regularly place orders for cases of unique items like soy free tofu and coconut cherry yogurt . They are happily fulfilled! I always receive a call within days informing me of products arrival.
I have done a comparison at other local stores and can honestly say Roots market has the area’s largest selection of plant based goods. Whether you are making a charcuterie board or a lasagna they have you covered.
Additionally, their sales and every day value products are amongst the best of any locally owned grocery store.”
“Boarman's is great! They offer a great selection of quality meats, awesome service at competitive prices. I live further away now, but try to get their as often as possible. My family has been shopping their for generations. We love that it's a family run business.”
“Very good small supermarket, with fresh produce and lots of Latin American products. The papaya there was the best I’ve ever had in DC. Let’s support these small stores that make DC streets more interesting!”
“I have had mulch delivered several times this year so far it’s been on time and a great price delivered exactly where I needed it, the quality the mulch was top-notch!”
“My wife of 15 years being from Thailand needs products from her region sometimes not necessarily from Thailand. We have been customers for years after Thai Market closed in downtown Silver Spring. Always friendly and generally have the spices and condiments she likes to maintain.”
“My favorite Food Lion location. The staff is always nice and helpful and if I dont find what I need, I'm always able to find something that is close enough.”

“We have been buying meat from here for the past years and honestly they have the best variety of good quality meat. Plus perfect customer service and if you need advice on how to cook your steak they got you covered. I’d never shop anywhere else. ??”
“This is the best international grocery store I have ever been, first they have everything. 2nd their price are very great. Excellent customer service. Good product. Whatever you can't find in other stores, you'll surely get it at Abart Foods store. And they ship all over US, Canada and UK. It's a place to visit.”
“Love this Whole Foods. It's clean, has delicious produce and always has what I'm looking for. I also like that's it's in a shopping center with restaurants and also has a nice out door eating area.”
“Inside of the Brazilian supermarket is a little cafe where you can buy pastries both salty and sweet as well as coffee and other drinks!
We asked for the pastel de queso and it was DELICIOUS!”
“Love shopping here. My comment is about the .10 paper bags, they're so cheap you're lucky if you make it from the store to your vehicle without them tearing open spilling your groceries out. I was born 1960 grow up with paper bags but they were stronger, better quality and FREE.”
