“I ordered the recent book from John Connolly from Jabberwocky Books. I received it today, along with my CP bookmark. I am so happy! Thank you, Paul, for excellent service as usual. From Sally in Delaware”
“A Hidden Gem Along the River in a charming city.Nestled in the heart of Exeter, New Hampshire, Water Street Bookstore is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by book lovers and travelers alike.During a recent road trip, I stumbled upon this quaint bookstore, and I couldn't have been more delighted with my find. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the warm smiles of the staff, who were not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable and eager to assist, making my browsing experience all the more enjoyable. The book selection is perfect and curated with care, ensuring that every title is worthy of attention (leaving here and there some little cards with book reviews by the staff members). The real highlight lies at the back of the store, where a vast window overlooks the river flowing by. As I perused the shelves, I found myself drawn to this serene spot, where people go to read their book and sip a coffee or leave a message in notebooks left there for our convenience.I will sure come back!”
“A few years ago I found this shop after stumbling acriss their listing for a beautiful and unusual edition of Lewis Carroll's works. They were exceptionally helpful, responsive, and friendly. When I came by to pick up the book I was very impressed by their absolutely beautiful collection, in particular the selection of fairytales. I would highly recommend Buddenbrooks as a professional, communicative, and experienced resource for those seeking several varieties of antiquarian books.”
“This place is a hidden treasure trove. If you love history and old books, this place is fantastic. Most of it are books on military history, but there’s a lot of books on local history, old fiction novels, and biographies of historical figures. The owner is incredibly friendlyand Knowledgeable.”
“May 2024 I stopped to check out the store for a gift for my wife. I was there for work and we don't have this store in my state. This was a treat. Unfortunately I lost the names of the ladies on duty. I owe the crew a shout out for their great
customer service.
I walked all over the store taking my time and I never felt rushed or like I was being watched. The employees on duty were pleasant and helpful. They offered me assistance and each time I took it.
My wife likes Bees ? and they had a big Bee theme section. I found other gift ideas as I found a variety of pens, signs, decor and sundries to pick from.
If you're looking for a gift for someone who is hard to please this is a store you want to visit.
Thank you for a great experience!”
“What a cute campus book store. While there is limited selection or branded merchandise...it has good quality. The staff is friendly and ready to assist you if needed. Perfect spot for the kids to grab quick supplies.”

“I just love this place and won’t take my framing jobs anywhere else. The owner is so knowledgeable, not just about framing, but about preservation, mediums, (inks, paints, printing methods, etc) but also about random things (I had a circus poster from the 1940s framed and he knew so much about circus history!) that it makes him a pleasure to talk to. I haven’t stumped him yet with my many questions. He obviously is an avid reader with a great love of books, as they also sell lovely old books and prints. Experienced framers that you can trust with valuable items seem few and far between in these days of DIY and big chain stores, but I’ve had Michael’s ruin a precious (though not valuable) painting by my nephew. If you value your items, have them framed here.”

“I found the Newburyport Christian Science Reading Room and church many years ago. At that time I was on a spiritual search, looking for a deeper understanding of God. I had been visiting many churches and trying many spiritual paths for several years. The very first day I went to the Newburyport church I felt pure love and joy bursting forth! I felt a loving embrace and a sense of being at home. Christian Science teaches that "God is Love" and that everyone is a child of Love. It teaches one to be a spiritual thinker and to strive to practice Jesus' teachings. I later married and raised three children in the Sunday School until our family moved to the West coast when the children were still young. I will always have sweet memories of my time at the Newburyport Church.”
“6 years ago I wrote a rather negative review on here, and they seemed to listen to i and everyone else about our complaints, the entire inside has been renovated, they have cycled out old employees with newer, more kinder ones. This is what a library should be like, well done Amesbury!”
