2 Dogs Treats
171 Neponset Ave, BostonI’m always ready to try new treats for my beloved boxer, Tito. Unfortunately a lot of commercial dog treats are from another country or have ingredients I can’t even pronounce. Not only are 2 Dogs Treats made locally, but there’s only ONE ingredient in all of their treats. And even better, Tito is obsessed! No more looking for the next best treats. I already found them. Thank you!!

The Pooped Pooch Pet Supply
2284 Dorchester Ave, BostonLet me start by saying this is a five star review unless you have a fish. Hello, welcome to my review of the Popped Pouch. You will think this should be a one star review if you only had a fish, but you will not think it is a one star EXPERIENCE. It's a four Star experience plus one star if you have a cat or dog. This brings it to the fifth star. The P*** Porch has everything you'd dream of if you have dogful/catful fishless inside living. It's small but packed with canine and feline marineless necessities. Cool treats and quirky fun toys for pets as long as they are cats or dogs. They have one employee and sometimes that employee changes but the previous one comes back the next day and the newer one leaves until the first one is done with Jury Duty or whatever. They don't sell any fish food, or it might be in the back or something, just ask the employee if it's the first guy, he might say "no" though. I'm sure he says it in a nice way with a little animal pun joke.

Dog Eat Cake Pet Bakery| E-Commerce
298A Columbus Ave, BostonThis was our first time trying Dog Eat Cake as our local “barkery” closed. It did not disappoint! We drove an hour to pick up Max’s cake and it was totally worth it. The design was fun and unique (not your typical bone shape with minimal details). The cake was airy and moist. Max and his brother Leo loved it. It’s the best dog cake we have ever gotten! Dog Eat Cake will be our go to for both our pups!

Jamaica Plain Animal Clinic
10 Green St, Jamaica PlainNEVER have I EVER seen a vet being so invested, so thorough, so caring about my dog. I am in awe..I came here for a second opinion for my dogs health issue, before simply accepting what my original vet said, and man am I glad I did. Dr Levine went above & beyond to make sure that he had researched ALL options before letting my dog undergo surgery, and guess what? He doe not necessarily need surgery - Dr Levine had alternatives, very well thought out alternatives that he carefully discussed eith me, and I just could not be happier! Thank you!!

Angell Animal Medical Center
350 S Huntington Ave, BostonThe veterinarian and other team members were so caring and helpful during my visit. I drove up from Providence, Rhode Island because I know they are the best. What I appreciated most about Angell is being treated with respect and honesty and knowing my pets are in experienced and caring hands. Although Tufts is closer to my current home, a recent experience there sent me back to Angell. For decades Angell has cared for my animal family members and I will continue to rely on them in the years to come.

South Bay Veterinary Group
587 Tremont St, BostonI moved to Boston in June 2023 and was referred to South Bay by our dog walker. From the beginning we have found the team and veterinarians to be compassionate, responsive and skilled on their care of our two dogs. Recently our 12 year old retriever mix has had health issues and I’m sad to say that yesterday we had to make the difficult decision to euthanize her. Dr Baker was so incredibly kind and patiently talked us through options, gave us privacy to make the decision, and allowed us to gather the family to be with our beloved dog as she crossed the rainbow bridge. I am grateful to have had this support during this sad time and going forward to care for our other dog.

METROVET Veterinary Clinic
93 Hyde Park Ave, BostonWe have 2 dogs that are frequent flyers at MetroVet. Everyone is so caring with my pups and always helpful with my many phone calls with questions. My dogs are very nervous and we’ve had experiences with other vets where I wasn’t allowed in the exam room or they just didn’t seem to care about my dogs being comfortable there. Here I get to stay with them and they take things slow at their pace and give lots of good treats. We also go right into the exam room and never have to deal with other dogs being too close to us which is also a plus. My dogs love the staff here! ❤️

Boston Veterinary Clinic
363 Tremont St, BostonWe were very happy with Dr. Chelsea. She had obviously spent time reviewing our questionnaire and listened to our concerns attentively. She thoroughly answered all our questions and explained the reasons behind her recommendations clearly. Everyone was great! The woman who checked us in was very accommodating. Slider seemed to have a rude fascination with Rita (I hope I'm remembering her name correctly), yet she was nonplussed and handled it well. As I mentioned, Dr. Chelsea was fabulous. And two other staff members even pitched in at the end to corral Slider when he attempted a jail break. Overall, the vibe was very calm and welcoming.

Pet Sitting & Training

Boston's Best Dog Walkers and Pet Services, LLC (main)
25 Northern Ave, BostonI would highly recommend Bostons Best Dog Walkers for pet sitting. Especially Matisse - if you want your dog to be treated like family then definitely request Matisse, he is AMAZING, treated our dog so well and our dog absolutely loved him. I truly can’t say enough how thankful I was for how great he was to our baby.
We were in Boston for the evening and needed a last minute Pet sitter to sit with our dog. You can book a “hotel stay” with BBDW where they will come to your hotel for 3 hours and sit with your dog while you go out. Most hotels have a policy that you can’t leave your dog alone, so this was a saving grace as we knew our dog would cry and disturb other guests if we left him by himself.
I was originally really nervous about this as we have never hired a sitter or left our dog with someone who isn’t family. So I requested a meet and greet where we met our sitter Matisse in the afternoon very briefly beforehand and this made me feel so much better! This isn’t included or necessary but if you’re nervous like me it was worth it. You also get a journal and photo updates on their website portal of what they did together the whole time. We asked that they just stay in the room and not go out since we walked him beforehand and that worked out well.
Aaron was also very responsive and communicated well throughout the process. I texted him from the number on Google the night before, which was really last minute and he made it all happen. We had confirmation of booking that night and a sitter arranged the next day. Overall we had a really good experience with bostons best dog walkers for our trip to Boston and I would definitely use them again.

Bonne Chance Cafe
77 Canal St, BostonSTEPH JUDGEMENT: A no-frills place with decent food and great prices. Came here because the hubby had been before and liked it. This is a place that does a lot of different stuff, amazingly, with just one guy. It wasn't too busy on the morning of our visit but it looked like it might get insane during lunch hour (there were specified doors for ins and outs). The space was small but not tiny, with a few tables and counter seating. Lots of knickknacks, signs, and posters on the walls--a bit cluttered but homey. I had a coffee with cream, which was pretty standard--not bad, not great. We shared an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich (homestyle, with regular ole sandwich bread and American cheese), and hash browns (the patty kind). It was a simple, economical breakfast that got us going.

Animal Rescue League of Boston
10 Chandler St, BostonFormerly known as "Corndog" by the Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL), we adopted Arthur Cornelius on June 29th, 2024. Arthur was surrendered to the ARL with two of his family members at the end of April. Arthur tried to wait patiently for his turn to find his furever home, but it was tough because he loves being with his people. When we met Arthur, it was obvious he was well cared for and how much the ARL staff and volunteers loved him. Despite being in the shelter for about two months, Arthur was friendly and trusting. Today, Arthur is living his best life with his new parents going on lots of adventures. The ARL staff and volunteers are kind, compassionate, and dedicated. In 2023, they facilitated 3,173 adoptions including cats, dogs, small animals like bunnies, and even some livestock! And overall, they helped around 21,000 animals in lots of other ways. Thank you for giving Arthur a second chance to live his best life. I highly recommend the ARL!
