Pet Spa
669 Somerville Ave, SomervilleOur first time and very pleased. Our mini Bernidoodle dog was a bit shabby having missed her regular cut due to the move to Boston. We discussed the type of cut and she suggested a modified summer cut. Ruthie looked beautiful so I made a future appointment.

Winter Hill Veterinary Clinic
257 Broadway, SomervilleThis is the best vet in the state of MA. I made sure to find fear-free certified vets, and that’s how I found Dr. Hummer. My dog (6 yo, spayed, mix, rescue) is terrified of going to the vet, and Dr. Hummer played with her and got to know her before he started his exam. You actually couldn’t tell that he was examining her because he was so gentle and loving towards my dog. This vet answers all my questions and is always a joy to see. My girl loves the vet now!!

Porter Square Veterinarian
360 Summer St, SomervilleIt was my first time here and I didn't know what to expect [since I recently moved to Boston with my pup]. However, everyone was very kind and professional.
The front desk was patient with my pup [who was a little nervous, as is the case with going to a new vet] and offered her treats to calm her down.
I loved how gentle and loving Dr. English was to my pup. Luna [my pup] was a little nervous initially, but Dr. English took the extra time to play with her [belly rubs work every time..haha] and make her comfortable and then did a thorough evaluation.
Unlike many places where the vet rushes you, Dr. English showed a lot of patience and took the time to ensure that all my questions about Luna were answered; so, I could leave with the peace of mind. You can see that Dr. English really cares about your pets [and animals]!!
Logistics and Pricing: Booking the appointment over the phone was very convenient and when I arrived, there was no wait time. The prices for the normal vet visit and the vaccines were also very reasonable.
Thank you to Dr. English and her staff for taking care of Luna! Keep up the great work!

Pet Sitting & Training

Zen Dog Training
391 Medford St, SomervilleSigned up for the puppy training class and our instructor is Dario. He’s been amazing and the class has been so helpful. Not only does the class build the dog’s confidence but it also builds the owners confidence for what situations their puppy can handle.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Koshari Mama
585 Somerville Ave, SomervilleI stopped in here at the recommendation of this app. The food and drink were delicious. On Wednesdays they only do their take out menu (which is smaller than their dine in menu) and although you can opt to eat in, the food is also served in takeout containers. The server left partway through my Wednesday late lunch and assured me someone else would come out to check on me before I left. After waiting at least 20 minutes I tried to figure out how to find someone else, gave up, and left cash on the table without ever seeing anyone else. Updated from previous review on 2026-06-19

P & K Delicatessen
244 Beacon St, SomervilleMark does an amazing job. Every sub they offer is 10/10. Support a family run, local business, that uses quality ingredients. Their Italian sub is arguably the best I have ever had. You won't leave here disappointed!!!

Tall Order
70 Beacon St, SomervilleThis place deserves every bit of praise it gets! They really know how to put on a great event and everything feels so well organized and fun. The food and cocktails are incredible, the staff and owner are some of the best around, and the prices are seriously great for the Boston area. Whether you’re coming for an event or just to eat and drink, you will not be disappointed. This place is a gem!

Sakura Asian Bistro and Sushi
263 Elm St, SomervilleEverything we had was tasty, and the prices weren't too crazy. The sashimi was great, edamame was tasty, and I liked the specialty roll we got, the Hawaii roll. The only caveat is the chicken teriyaki was a bit overcooked, but it was a good portion.

Nagomi Bento Bow Market
1 Bow Mkt Wy, SomervilleI’ve enjoyed their onigiri 🍙 regularly but last time it was way softer rice and barely any miso pork. I’d rather they raise the price and go back to the previous amount of pork. And I much preferred the harder, chewier rice before.
Be aware of their hours. They are not open for 2:30-4:30p every afternoon and like almost all of Bow Market closed Mondays.

Waikiki Poke, Sushi, Bubble Tea, & Smoothie
27 Holland St, SomervilleLove this place. They have great sushi and Poke bowls. The staff is so nice every time I’ve been there and I eat there a lot. Toast also lists what contains gluten so very easy to have things gluten free and they have GF soy sauce. For those with gluten allergy they are careful with CC and I’ve never had a reaction. Highly recommend!

Winter Hill Brewing Company
328 Broadway, SomervilleCame here for trivia (Thursdays at 7:30!), and it was pretty packed. Luckily we were able to snag a table and ordered some beers. The workers are all very nice and there's a real sense of community here! A very homey and welcoming spot. The latkes were also delicious- tangy, savory, and not too greasy. I also highly recommend the pretzel, which had a nice bite to it, and came with delicious sauces and amazing pickled beets!

Zero New Washington Dog Park
0 New Washington St, SomervilleVery nice dog park in Somerville. Decent sized.
Located next to the commuter rail tracks, so be aware if your pup might be scared by the passing train.
