171 Neponset Ave, BostonI’m always ready to try new treats for my beloved boxer, Tito. Unfortunately a lot of commercial dog treats are from another country or have ingredients I can’t even pronounce. Not only are 2 Dogs Treats made locally, but there’s only ONE ingredient in all of their treats. And even better, Tito is obsessed! No more looking for the next best treats. I already found them. Dog Eat Cake Pet Bakery| E-Commerce
298A Columbus Ave, BostonThis was our first time trying Dog Eat Cake as our local “barkery” closed. It did not disappoint! We drove an hour to pick up Max’s cake and it was totally worth it. The design was fun and unique (not your typical bone shape with minimal details). The cake was airy and moist. Max and his brother Leo loved it. It’s the best dog cake we have ever gotten! Dog Eat Cake will be our go to for both our pups!

The Pooped Pooch Pet Supply
2284 Dorchester Ave, BostonLet me start by saying this is a five star review unless you have a fish. Hello, welcome to my review of the Popped Pouch. You will think this should be a one star review if you only had a fish, but you will not think it is a one star EXPERIENCE. It's a four Star experience plus one star if you have a cat or dog. This brings it to the fifth star. The P*** Porch has everything you'd dream of if you have dogful/catful fishless inside living. It's small but packed with canine and feline marineless necessities. Cool treats and quirky fun toys for pets as long as they are cats or dogs. They have one employee and sometimes that employee changes but the previous one comes back the next day and the newer one leaves until the first one is done with Jury Duty or whatever. They don't sell any fish food, or it might be in the back or something, just ask the employee if it's the first guy, he might say "no" though. I'm sure he says it in a nice way with a little animal pun joke.

Pet Grooming

House Call Cat Grooming & Spa L.L.C.
379 Neponset Ave, BostonI highly recommend House Call Cat grooming & Spa - We have 2 coon cats that were in desperate need of a full grooming. I searched for a mobile cat groomer for months and found them! My cats were so matted and i thought that they would need to be fully shaved. Cynthia and Sabrina were a godsend - they are experienced professionals that were able to transform both cat’s with a complete grooming while keeping their fur and brining back their beauty ! They handled the difficult cats with ease and the entire experience was seamless for cats and owner. I intend to have them as part of the high maintenance regimen a coon cat requires . Both cats and this owner are relived - and happy . One was extremely matted and in pain and immediately began running around after the grooming!

Jamaica Plain Animal Clinic
10 Green St, Jamaica PlainI’ve been bringing my dogs to JP Animal Clinic for almost 3 years, and I’m only leaving because I’m moving away.
Every vet - Dr. Levine, Dr. Marks, and Carter - we’ve seen has been incredibly knowledgeable and great. This practice does not push unnecessary tests or treatments. The docs will walk me through their thought process and always present options, walking me through decisions in a way that feels collaborative and supportive. They’ve helped us through everything from smaller issues like fleas and post-flea dermatitis to much more serious diagnoses like mast cell tumor and Cushing’s disease. The wait for appointments, diagnostic testing, and surgery is not long. They’ve also gone out of their way to help me find the most cost-effective ways to get my dog a particularly expensive medication. Through it all, I’ve felt confident that my dogs were receiving excellent evidence-based care.
Most importantly, when my dogs walk in, everyone knows them and is genuinely excited to see them. That kind of warmth and familiarity means so much.
The only real downside is parking — it can be a bit tricky in JP— but it’s absolutely worth it for the quality of care.
We will truly miss JP Animal Clinic!

Pet Sitting & Training

Boston's Best Dog Walkers and Pet Services, LLC (main)
25 Northern Ave, BostonI would highly recommend Bostons Best Dog Walkers for pet sitting. Especially Matisse - if you want your dog to be treated like family then definitely request Matisse, he is AMAZING, treated our dog so well and our dog absolutely loved him. I truly can’t say enough how thankful I was for how great he was to our baby.
We were in Boston for the evening and needed a last minute Pet sitter to sit with our dog. You can book a “hotel stay” with BBDW where they will come to your hotel for 3 hours and sit with your dog while you go out. Most hotels have a policy that you can’t leave your dog alone, so this was a saving grace as we knew our dog would cry and disturb other guests if we left him by himself.
I was originally really nervous about this as we have never hired a sitter or left our dog with someone who isn’t family. So I requested a meet and greet where we met our sitter Matisse in the afternoon very briefly beforehand and this made me feel so much better! This isn’t included or necessary but if you’re nervous like me it was worth it. You also get a journal and photo updates on their website portal of what they did together the whole time. We asked that they just stay in the room and not go out since we walked him beforehand and that worked out well.
Aaron was also very responsive and communicated well throughout the process. I texted him from the number on Google the night before, which was really last minute and he made it all happen. We had confirmation of booking that night and a sitter arranged the next day. Overall we had a really good experience with bostons best dog walkers for our trip to Boston and I would definitely use them again.

Paws To Consider
24 Hall St, BostonHighly recommend Paws to Consider! We've used them for over a year now for dog walks and they are amazing with communication, scheduling, and providing updates and summaries of walks. Any time I had a last-minute question or schedule change, they were super responsive. Our dog is also reactive, and they were great about introducing new walkers to him so that he was comfortable and working with him on his walks.
We also used them for dog and cat sitting, and felt so comfortable knowing our animals were being well-cared by the Paws Team in our absence. Moving away, so we're sad to no longer be working with them!

Jen and the team are great. She's awesome at proactive communication and the team she hires and the walkers we've had over the years have all been great. The one time I felt there was someone my dog was not vibing with, I brought it up to her and she took it very seriously and it was resolved by the very next walk. My dog is my baby and she can be a stubborn princess (and is a frenchie so I worry with her in the heat sometimes) but she is always so well taken care of my WGO :)

Brookside Walk + Train
3383 Washington St, BostonI am forever grateful to Brookside, Dinyee, and Rubbie. Brookside is one of those rare businesses that actually takes the time to really get to know you (as an individual) and your dog. Dinyee is such a gem of a human and has truly helped change my life and my dog's life for the better.
I took my rescue puppy to Brookside last year, as Coco was very fearful of and reactive towards people and other dogs. I was desperate for help and needed a lot of guidance, as I was raising this puppy by myself.
Over the course of the next 12 months, Dinyee took the time (even after business hours at times) to thoroughly understand my personal relationship with my dog and really figure out where behavioral issues were stemming from.
Dinyee gives it to you straight and doesn't sugar-coat anything, which is exactly what I needed in order to improve my relationship and follow through with Coco. I honestly don't know what I would've done without Brookside and their incredibly knowledgeable and kind team.
My relationship with Coco is so much fuller and more enjoyable now, and Coco seems much calmer and happier. Thank you so much, Brookside!

The Pawsitive Dog
274 Southampton St, BostonTruly do not have enough wonderful things to say about our experience at Pawsitive. We truly weren't sure what else to do to help our very sweet but very anxious rescue dog, Abby, when a friend suggested we reach out to Pawsitive. Right away, we were so impressed by Jen's confidence and reassurance. She and all the trainers at Pawsitive not only helped empower us to be the people our dog needed but they fundamentally changed how we viewed our relationship with our dog for the better. The skills we learned at Pawsitive have made us kinder, more patient, more fun-loving, and more relaxed dog owners and also helped our dog gain skills and confidence. So many people remark on how beautifully trained our dog is, and she is a favorite at the vet for her calmness and adaptability :). We feel like we owe so much to Jen, Francis, and the other trainers and truly feel like they will always be a part of our family! Joe's 320 Cafe
320 Spring St, BostonWas looking for a last minute Sunday brunch place and my friend found this spot that was conveniently located. I showed up about 30 minutes late, but there wasn’t any issues even though the place started getting busy. It was 11am and the five of us had a table tucked away in the corner.
The food was overall really good. I ordered the chicken and waffles and I love that they were mini waffles and chicken bites vs a large Belgium waffle and fried chicken pieces. The gravy and sauces that came with it were so good! Yes the chicken was a bit dry, but that didn’t bother me. I usually like to eat morning chicken with honey and the gravy was really good too.
My friends ordered the steak and eggs, chorizo, and French toast and eggs. They all really enjoyed their food.
Service was a bit slow because there were only 2 active servers but that didn’t bother us too much. Once we flagged them down, they got us whatever we needed and were very friendly.

Animal Rescue League of Boston
10 Chandler St, BostonFormerly known as "Corndog" by the Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL), we adopted Arthur Cornelius on June 29th, 2024. Arthur was surrendered to the ARL with two of his family members at the end of April. Arthur tried to wait patiently for his turn to find his furever home, but it was tough because he loves being with his people. When we met Arthur, it was obvious he was well cared for and how much the ARL staff and volunteers loved him. Despite being in the shelter for about two months, Arthur was friendly and trusting. Today, Arthur is living his best life with his new parents going on lots of adventures. The ARL staff and volunteers are kind, compassionate, and dedicated. In 2023, they facilitated 3,173 adoptions including cats, dogs, small animals like bunnies, and even some livestock! And overall, they helped around 21,000 animals in lots of other ways. Thank you for giving Arthur a second chance to live his best life. I highly recommend the ARL!
