“As a visitor, Brookline Booksmith was recommended to me as "the best bookstore in Boston" so I HAD to come visit... and I was not disappointed! The overall look and feel of the store is so comfy and the vibes are so positive and chill. On a Sunday afternoon, this store was PACKED. They have a great selection with some great deals on the tables. In the basement level, they carry used books for cheaper prices. On top of that, they also carry cute Boston merch (which I was really looking forward to, as a tourist). Everyone I spoke with was very nice, including the person who rung me up at the register. I walked away with a ton of postcards, stickers, and goodies! I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in town!”

“I highly recommend this used bookstore. Well-organized displays of books, spacious, clean, and very pleasing layout (how often is that the case with a bookstore?!). Books are reasonably priced (most I checked the prices on were $7-$8 for like-new hardcover). I found several books I wanted, all in new or almost new condition, which seems to be mostly what they stock. The music section alone is a remarkable collection of books. Fiction section, although not huge, was also of a diverse selection. The staff is very and friendly and helpful, and let me give a special shout-out to Jocelyn for all the assistance she provided on a recent visit. They also carry some previously owned clothing, and other gift items, although I was sorry not to have more time to browse those items. All it's all for a good cause. Will be back.”

“Fabulous women-owned bookstore in Jamaica Plain, selling, as far as I could tell, only new books. Leave plenty of time to browse - the selection of books is wide ranging, and, for a relatively small space, very large and comprehensive. The exterior signage alone is remarkable! Definitely among my favorite bookstores world-wide. I came away with their The Papercuts Anthology: What Happened Here, a collection of poems, essays, and fiction by authors they hosted during their first year (2014) in business. What a nice souvenir, co-edited by the store's owner, Kate Layte.”

“Always love spending time in B&N bookstore. During the Holiday shopping it was busy as usual. Considering this, my experience was good. Two hiccups fir future planning: 1) The cashier was new so didn't know how to add value to an existing gift card I bought on an earlier trip. I changed my mind and wanted to give person more. I has to buy a second gift card to achieve the value desired. It was Christmas eve so I didn't raise a fuss and gave two gift cards. 2) The middle desk had been being used to provide cashier services the day before. This changed Christmas eve, but no signs, so I spent about 10 extra minutes waiting there only to be directed to very long line at front of store. The good news is although not thoroughly trained the front of the store cashier's had the line moving rapidly.”

“CLJ is the best church I've been to in Boston. I've been a member since 2008. I am very blessed to be part of this organization. This church is Bible-based and is very well organized. It has an amazing worship team and many programs that serve its members and the community. It's great! Come visit us!”

“You will find all the things you need regarding anything for school but I will say it is a bit expensive. They do have a good go to snack array and have everyday essentials needed for the dorms or at home.”

“I have been a collector of rare books for 3 decades and have never been in a shop with such fine employees. I brought my 20 yo son who had never been in a similar setting and they immediately attended to him and helped him to feel comfortable and appreciated. While they are not the largest antiquarian bookstore the volumes they own are carefully curated and chosen for people with budgets from $50 to $50,000. I have no other relationship to them except as a customer and get no discount for my opinion (I wish!). Much luck to them. Ask to see the Picasso miniature!! Jim”

“This school is a very good and welcoming school. You will get a quality education that will definitely help you find a job. Don't pay attention to other reviews stating that it is a bad school, simply look at their grammar and you can tell they didn't pay attention very much. There is plenty of fun to be had on campus, if you are actually willing to look and not sit in your room for the duration of your stay. I have met many good friends here, and enjoyed every day that I went to Curry College. If someone rates a complete 0/3 then they simply want to bash the school because they expect that if you put only a small amount of effort in that magically the school will give them everything they ever wanted. It is difficult, and there are some things/rules that everyone might not view as the fairest that they could possibly be. But that is any school, and Curry is only getting better and better. In that past 10 years they have built: 3 new state of the art residence halls (NCRH, 886 Res Hall, and SCRH) 1 new cafeteria/gym/bookstore/gymnasium/faculty offices (Student Center) 1 new academic building (AAPC) Redone the interior of 3 other academic buildings Installed state of the art Windows 7 and Mac machines Doubled their internet speed more than 5 times As well as plans for future buildings throughout the campus All in all, I loved Curry and you really should give it a try.”

“Fantastic customer service! I mail ordered Hanukkah candles very close to the start of the holiday and they delivered them to me fast and in time for the first night! I don't think I would have gotten that type of speedy service elsewhere on such short notice, but they understood my needs and delivered!”

“Was staying in the Back Bay area of Boston. My hotel was a mile and a half away from my go-to spot for a breakfast sandwich, Archie's Deli. I asked the hotel concierge for a similar breakfast sandwich, as my google search really wasn't bringing up anything. He suggested Trident. Yes, it is doubles as a bookstore and a cafe. It looks like it is a residential neighborhood. But these are all businesses in what looks like older house. And Trident did indeed have a breakfast sandwich. I ordered one, with sausage and over-hard fried egg on an english muffin. The size was bigger than what I expected. Although i think the egg was a little overcooked, it didn't make it worse. I would maybe suggest scrambled eggs for this specific sandwich. Some cheese would make a great addition. The english muffin was fine, as well. Although it satisfied my needs, it still doesn't beat a Yahoo, from Archie's.”

“Such a great bookstore. I've only been here once but I'll definitely be going back. The workers here are so helpful and do their best to find whatever you need. The used books are the best, going for as cheap as $3-$4. Got a handful of books for under $20!”

“Very nice lady. I had a long conversation with her. I like talking to people so I enjoyed her open heart. This was in November 2019, but she was very kind and in return to some medical advice she gave me a complete set of Russian dolls. Very generous! It might be that when the shop was closed she was ill and the person who was supposed to keep it open for her, didn't care enough! Call before you drive all the way to the place!”

“After a shocking price tag at a designer place in Winchester and a horrible experience at Home Depot, I gave 3 days blinds a call. I had just bought my first house and the blinds that were on the windows had the 3 day blinds labels on them, indicating the previous owners had used them as well. From start to finish I had a great experience. My consultant was Sara Morin and she did a wonderful job understanding my vision, I felt a connection instantly. After the consult there were several follow ups from the installation company. The installers came exactly as scheduled and did a great job. We are very happy with our purchase, which I view as an investment just like tile work or new cabinets and counter tops. Our kitchen looks so different now, its amazing how a window treatment can transform a space! Even one change helps to make a space feel like its your home, your design... yours. :)”

“In 2016 I purchased from Helen, the proprietor of the Boston Book Company, the manuscript edition of Henry David Thoreau. This is the cloth edition and remarkably, it still had the dust jackets from 1906. Having seen at least one hundred sets of this edition over forty years of Thoreau collecting, this is the finest example I had seen. Helen made me feel welcome. At the end of the deal, I thanked her with a kiss to the cheek. Thanks Helen!”

“I went to the store a while back when I went to Massachusetts to visit my grandmother and we went to see the store (I was starting my Harry Potter journey) it has a cool selection of Harry Potter and you will likely find something from your house. And the owner is very nice and even has a small conversation about how I was really enjoying Harry Potter and how far into the series I was. I would really recommend going. I know I will when I go back to Massachusetts.”
