When I first rented the car in Boston, the vehicle unfortunately had a very strong and unpleasant smell, similar to smoke or something chemical. It made the driving experience uncomfortable.
However, when I visited the Enterprise location in Hyannis to explain the situation, the team handled everything in an extremely professional and generous way. They immediately apologized for the inconvenience, asked no questions, and promptly replaced the vehicle.

“This place here is one of the most friendly and professional businesses I've ever done business with in my adult life, especially considering I'm only 24 years old and have never rented a car until now. Before coming to Enterprise, I was dealing with another rental car company, which, for lack of better terms, was being a real pain in the neck and was giving me a hard time over a miscommunication. Long story short, out of frustration with that experience, I canceled my reservation and felt like my trip was over—until I found Enterprise. My mom had done business with a different Enterprise location in the past, so I didn't know what to expect, especially after my last bad experience with a rental company. I decided to make a last-minute decision days before my trip and reserved my rental with this Enterprise location. Looking back on everything I had to go through to finally book with this location, I have no regrets. I called it a few times before picking up my car, and the staff I spoke with over the phone were always friendly, helpful, and—more importantly—super professional. That professionalism was one of the green flags that encouraged me to proceed with this location. Since I called ahead to ask questions and avoid any confusion on the day of pick up, I am still blown away by how quickly I was able to walk out of Enterprise with a car, and how smooth and painless the process was. The person I worked with during pickup and who answered my questions on the phone was R.J., and I will always remember his name because we share the same name. R.J. was absolutely fantastic—I don't think this 5-star review does him justice. “Tom was absolutely wonderful. We had to rebook a rental car last minute as our original rental cancelled our booking and went through Uber rentals, which then booked us a vehicle through Avis. We flew into Boston-Logan and were unaware of how far apart these two airports are, especially landing at 4pm and having to get from Boston-Logan to Norwood during rush hour. Tom made our trip happen. He was very understanding and accommodating. We needed a very large SUV to fit a mattress since we planned on sleeping in the vehicle for 3/7 nights of our first trip to the North East. He was so kind and understanding. We ended up getting to Avis 45min after they closed due to the heavy traffic we did not expect upon arrival and the distance we had to travel. He went above and beyond for us as he could have easily said we had to come back the next day or rented our vehicle to another customer. He even looked up how much it would cost for the same vehicle at Boston-Logan and saved us $2000 since it was that much more expensive there. We could not be more thankful for Tom and his excellent customer service to go above and beyond for us. We highly recommend Avis to anyone looking for a rental car in Norwood! Thank you so much!”

I also left my wallet in the van the night before our return flight back home. I called them early the next morning and left a message, as some as they opened Harrison the sales rep called and confirmed he had my wallet. To a person, they are friendly, courteous, and helpful, including the manager, Doug. If there ever is a car availability issue - and there has been - it is NOT the fault of the staff. It is usually a function of customers not returning cars on time, or some other mix-up with the Hertz home office. And if/when confronted with a situation, the staff goes out of their way to correct it and make things right.”

“Had a great experience at the Budget in Waltham, MA, on the morning of December 2, 2024. We rented a car in Montreal to drive back to Boston and ended up with a Jeep—not what we expected, and the gas mileage was rough.
When we dropped it off in Waltham, the woman working there (wish I got her name!) was awesome. She explained that since it was an international rental, we’d have to call the 800 number for most issues, but she still went out of her way to see if she could help. She managed to get us a discount to make up for the crazy gas costs, which we really appreciated.
She didn’t promise anything but totally delivered and was so kind and understanding the whole time. A small gesture like that made a big difference. Thanks for the great service!”
