“St. Mary's CU is strictly a service for credit union members. They are governed by member rules, not the whimsies of a teller who is being recorded by cameras for all transactions. CUs offer great interest rates, easier acceptances on loans, better returns, free checks & checking, overdraft forgiveness, & lets you keep more of what you deposit, all for a one time $5 charge to join as a member. Public banks can't compete. Fees are a large part of public bank profits. The lure of changing a large bill for someone off the street may seem friendlier, but over the long run, public banks will vaccuum more than $5 out of your wallet & do it with a smile.”

“For a small business owner, time is valuable....Opening a business checking account at Santander in Auburn Mass took almost 2 hours, the nice man there kept staring at a computer screen and typing for long periods of time.... Meeting with an account Manager at Bank of America in Auburn to fix log in issues with their app to more than an hour, the man was very nice, but took a long time... Opening a business account at MFCU with Ashley D was simple and easy. She had all the important documents prepared ahead of time. She was nice, but also knows what she is doing. This is why MFCU is the best.”

Saved me so much of a hassle denying that charge and calling me immediately! I called on their off hours and they took care of it, I could not love this place more!”

“I cannot recommend all of the Clinton Savings Bank branches, enough, especially the Boylston Branch.I was the Co-Treasurer of the Boylston Elementary School PTO for 3 years and became very familiar with almost everyone who worked there. They were reliably friendly, helpful, and welcoming, always asking how they could help us out/give back to the community. It had that "Cheers" feeling when you walked in, and I was really struck by how much they genuinely cared.In March of 2021, our town was rocked by the news of the sudden passing of one of our beloved teenagers. The entire town pulled together to support the family and one another, but Clinton Savings Bank went above and beyond to help us remember a special person taken too soon. Having a prior close relationship with the bank, the family asked if I could start the process of a scholarship fund in the teen's name. Remember, this was in the thick of Covid, when banks were seeing clients by appointment only as gatherings were extremely limited. I reached out to the bank and received *immediate* assistance from both Michele and Steve, who were able to make the Matthew John Phillips Scholarship Fund a quick reality, so we could add it to Matthew's obituary. Many grieving hearts wanted to remember Matthew in a way that mattered to his family, and CSB was able to make that happen.This was no easy task; we knew we had to create a non-profit, had lawyers to meet with, and that a scholarship fund has a legal trail we didn't have the time to immediately navigate. Clinton Savings Bank helped us to create a temporary account, took the time to meet and guide us through the process, and explained our next steps. We just recently acquired our non-profit status, and both Michele and Steve jumped through hoops to help us make the transition. They also offered to support our upcoming fundraiser in any way they could, from sponsorship to manpower. To say they really care is a genuine understatement.When you think of what makes you love your town, rarely does one think of a bank! Clinton Savings Bank earned their place in all of our hearts; they truly care about our community and the people in it. They are part of what makes Boylston special.”

“This Bank In General:: Likes: * Local, proudly servicing the blighted no-mans land between Worcester and Springfield LOL. Locally rooted and stable with about $1.5B in assets, $1B in deposits which is notably higher when compared against other Massachusetts banks with similar footprint and branch count such as Mountain One or Cornerstone. When I choose a local bank, I look at retail footprint, viability/longevity, community involvement and more. Country Bank ticked all the boxes. * Great mobile app. Dislikes: * April 2018 still no chip cards. They say they are "working on it". The plus side to this non-compliance is they can issue a debit card immediately at the branch. * 800 number is live answered by someone causally saying "how can i direct your call". A phone tree would be a quicker, easier and more professional way of getting your call to customer service. Its a little annoying. This Branch Location:: Likes: * Staff is very friendly. They suggest you help yourself to their keurig and have a seat etc. They were very friendly during the account opening process and did not pressure me with the usual up-sells. Dislikes: * Do they get robbed a lot? Everyone is behind glass - even in the account opening process. The parking lot entrance is one way but the entrance to the bank is on the opposite side of the entrance to the parking lot. Im not sure if this is for staff safety or customer safety because of where the drive thru lane is but its awkward.”
