“Recently purchased a new gas grill from this store (Sudbury, MA) and Mike and his co-worker were phenomenal at helping me out not only with the purchase but delivered it and set it up for me! Love this store!”
“Best one of a kind hardware store in Metro west. Service cannot be better. I find it even better than Harvey’s Hardware that was my go to for over 40 years. A lot of the employees went to Green’s when Harvey’s closed.”

“Product was as described. Wasn’t sure if product was actually in store, but I called and the gentleman that answered the phone Allen, was extremely nice and tagged the product before. I actually even purchased it. Picked it up today. Pick up was very easy. Excellent service!”
“A great local alternative to the “Big Box” stores. Great selection of gardening tools/supplies, as well as most other trades. Pricing may be slightly higher, but well worth it for the convenient location and knowledgeable staff!”
“You won’t get service like this at the big box stores. Miguel took an interest in my project and personally assisted in helping me with what I needed. Project was a success and I won’t go anywhere else but Butler Lumber!”
“A great family owned business. Excellent service and knowledgeable staff put them head and shoulders above every other hardware store. Since they are affiliated with True Value, the prices are good also as they buy in bulk with the big dogs.”
“Good tools at great prices. I always check here before buying new. The owner is a friendly guy who knows his stuff and is always willing to help. Parking can be a bit of a pain but it is worth it.”
“I went today to get grilling supplies and they were so kind and helpful. They helped me get the best product and the best price. Support small businesses, this one is amazing!!!”
“Monnick's has been our go-to hardware store in Framingham for 40 years. The paint department is quite special with a very large selection and very knowledgeable staff.”
“The quality of tools has improved tremendously over the last few years and their warranty works well if you are a member of their club. I replaced several items without a receipt no issues.”
“Picked up a clamp which cost around $2. It seems like there is minimum requirement for credit card (makes sense due to high credit card fees). Checked the car, no cash. They allowed me to take it as I needed the clamp. I will drop the cash later today. Nice guys. You wouldn’t get this level of service in big name stores like home depot”

“I needed lumber for a woodworking class I'm taking. Evan was incredibly patient and kind in helping me get the supplies I needed. He made what I thought would be an intimidating process actually fun.”
“I had a very specific request for a nut and bolt (to fix a blade on my hockey skate) and the staff inside this Ace Hardware store couldn’t have been more helpful. It was a $0.30 fix but the associate, Mark, spent the time with me to make sure that I was all set, found the right size to fit and even helped me fix my skate. If that’s not above and beyond for service I don’t know what is. Thank you!!”
“This is your typical Ace Hardware and it has just about everything that you'll need if you don't wanna have to drive all the way to Home Depot. The people are friendly and the store is clean so I recommend this hardware store.”
“He has been trying his best to fix this door. Unfortunately nothing had worked. But he is a very polite and pleasant service man and I feel comfortable having him try to fix it.”
“A model for what a local hardware store should be. Staffed by a mix of adults who know exactly how to help you. They also employ local kids who are usually pretty helpful, though they are just teenagers so manage your expectations! They are kids working a first job, and I see a lot of people (both in the store and on Yelp) mistake inexperience with rudeness. Selection is good for a local place, though more niche items may require a trip to a larger place. Importantly, they do not carry much of anything in terms of wood and lumber, though they have a decent power tool section, including Craftsman, Milwaukee, and Stihl. Painting, plumbing, hand tools, grilling, house care, yard care, and screws are examples of the areas they cover pretty well. Value is good as well, matching or beating that of places like Lowes or HD, and Ace is a local mainstay.”
“I've always had great experiences at any true value I've been to around the country, and I must have been to them in at least 20 different states. Always helpful and friendly and competent. This tells me that the company prioritize excellence in customer service.
But on my last visit, this was taken to a whole new level. Taylor the assistant manager helped me with my keys which they don't even typically do that style. And she helped me try and dismantle them, which was a whole project. All while their system was down and she had a million better things to do. But she treated me like i was the only one in the store and was truly kind and concerned with the problem i came in to solve. And then i had a few nonconsequential questions while browsing but her and a couple other team members treated them like it was a daily double on jeopardy and they had to find the right answer.
This was help above and beyond from great people. I hardly even know what to say besides thank you!
Go shop here you won't be disappointed.”
“This place is fantastic. These guys are great. I have been doing habitat improvement (forest stand improvement) and thus I needed a chain saw. Well, Andrew was amazing and helped me with my purchase as well as troubleshooting some problems I had. I have also purchased a blower and several chain saw replacement chains from these guys and they are always helpful, kind, knowledgable and pleasant. Andrew went out of his way to help me on 3 different occasions. I am very happy with these people and the products they sell. Outstanding! Thanks!”

“Great selection of hardware and an amazingly helpful staff.Wide variety feature some nice luxury brands. Like a jewelry store of hardware. They carry all price points. So nice to see and feel quality differences. Keep stores like this open and don't buy on line.”
“The Home Depot is a Great Place to Shop for Home Project Goods. The Home Depot is the number one Home Retail Store .Home Depot is a great place to work for with Excellent Staff.”
“Nice clean store. Great inventory and stock of what you would expect at this store. Location is convenient and there is plenty of free parking available. Nice variety of stores around the area as well.”
“While the Watertown store is so much closer for me, it is chaotic in there and West Roxbury is often the same. Since I was in Natick anyhow, I stopped in on a weekday around 10am to get one of those mesh screen door things that you walk through (it actually works, not bad for $15). Masks and sanitizer at the front door for anyone who needs/wants it, and I wandered around looking for the item (for whatever reason, the aisle/bin number wasn't online). After I gave up wandering, I flagged down Bruno who found it for me (thanks Bruno!) and headed to the self checkout. Only negative to the in-store experience was the woman in charge of this area: having someone who is friendly would be a bonus. I can't imagine the parking lot on weekends, so go on a weekday if you can (or right when they open on Saturday and Sunday). The entrance/exit onto Speen St has a traffic light and the Route 30 exit is right-turn only (unless you want to just take a left anyhow). HD stores are dog-friendly as well!!”
“People will complain about the retail service here, but this ain't HD or Lowes, it's a supply house. If you need a 2x12 and don't want to burn an hour driving to HD in Waltham and back, they're great. The hours however are limited, since they service contractors.
That said, while I might have to wait or try to get someone's attention, I've always gotten what I needed here from paint to lumber to propane tank refills all while supporting a local shop rather than sending the money to a mega corp.”

“I have been a loyal customer for many years. I often go there with a "challenging project", for which there is no product made for the issue that I am trying to resolve. Rather than running the other way when they see me coming, they listen, think about it, (you can see the wheels spinning), and have ALWAYS been successful in finding a solution, sometimes, going as far as even taking the time to modify another item to make it work!! (Thank you, Joe!) Jeanne”
“Wonderful friendly staff who helped me not only design my new kitchen but also assisted me with the remodel of the doors and windows first AND the appliances to make it complete!”
