“Love johnny Ds, especially in a pinch. Fresh quality produce in a community atmosphere. Going into this place feels like time warping back to an older Boston. Johnny is always attentive, empathic and friendly, as are his employees. Fun music is always being played. I wish they carried more Organic produce.”
“I’m very picky! I recommend this place to friends in the area. He grills it perfectly in front of you. Not dry or overly oily- very tasty! Also there’s these cookies that come from local vender who serves organic -few ingredients grab some of those too. Super yummy food and local treats with short ingredients along with saffron ice cream and other interesting items. Sam the owner is super kind! “I didn’t think the mushrooms would be that different from chain grocery store and I was SO WRONG; we bought maitake mushrooms and added them to a pasta and they were the most flavorful, umami, pillowy delicious addition to the dish. Worth every penny. I can’t eat mass produced mushrooms anymore. These are incredible. And the tea selection is legit; I bought a pu’erh inside a dried mandarin and it was some of the nicest tea I’ve had in recent memory. And the sticker selection was incredible. This is my favorite store in Cambridge”
“This is a fun place if you need something prepared to eat. The salad bar is extensive, food bar had about 10 items, and prepared food/dinners was very good. Very nice people as well”
“This little store is an absolute hidden gem! 🤩 I accidentally stumbled across it while picking up food next door, and OMG… I only wish I had found it sooner!
Ayse was incredibly kind, welcoming, and so helpful. I originally stopped in for their Turkish sparkling mineral water, which is hands down the best sparkling mineral water I’ve found in Boston. Most sparkling waters give me heartburn, but this one actually helps relieve it!
While I was there, I asked Ayse if she had any hidden gem recommendations. She suggested the labneh (pictured) and these cleaning wipes… and can I just say WOW. 😂 They have completely replaced my regular cleaning products. I use them all over my house, and I’m a total clean freak! They’re made with vinegar instead of harsh chemicals, the strawberry scent smells amazing, and the price is unbelievable. I’ve already bought packs for my family and friends because I love them that much.
And the labneh? It’s the best I’ve ever had. I think I’m on my 25th container at this point. 😂 If they ever stop carrying it, I might actually cry.
If you’re looking for authentic Turkish products, friendly service, and some truly amazing finds, I can’t recommend this place enough. Definitely check out this hidden gem—you won’t regret it!”

“Update: I had originally dropped off three packages here as a UPS access point on Memorial Day. The packages were tampered with and went missing, prompting my initial one star review. After leaving this review, the owner Aymen reached out personally, investigated the situation, and made it right. He was responsive, professional, and genuinely cared about resolving the issue which I truly appreciate.
That said, I would suggest the store work on staff communication and follow-through, as my interactions with employees during this process were unhelpful and went unresolved for weeks.

Great selection of mushrooms, ramen, Korean foods including snacks, Japanese snacks and so much more. Spices galore! In the frozen section: all sorts of dumplings, shumai, soup dumplings, pot stickers, etc.”

“I like to check out all the trader Joe stores I can get to... West Newton was latest; super friendly staff! Clean and organized. A bit of a different setup than others I've been to but I really like this store. Staff are super attentive and friendly and the majority of patrons aren't as awful (impatient, entitled and rude) as Brookline.
Parking lot can be a lil hectic but no where near as hectic as Brookline.
Rankings:
Best Parking: Memorial Drive; Allston, West Newton, Needham
Best Staff: honestly I've never had any negative feedback regarding Staff at any of the locations I've visited. That says a lot about the company and how they treat their employees.
Haven't been to the new store in Newton on Needham St. Maybe this weekend.”
