“Absolutely charmed by the excellent service, thank you so much, T!
The food was excellent, exactly what you'd expect at a diner that's been in business so long. Really modest prices, huge portions, (makes chain diners and even fast food prices seem like a rip off), and still really well prepared and good quality.
Well worth the price of admission, even before factoring in the charm of the retro furnishings. They have jukeboxes, at the booths, in 2025... Back to the Future level nostalgia.
And our waitress was an absolute delight, veteran of the diner for four years, owners-better-know-how-lucky-they-are-to-have-her sort of waitress. Made us feel like family. Thank you Mama T!
I hope they get back to doing overnight service on the weekends. Closing at one seems kinda odd given that this was always a late night pilgrimage for UMass kids. (Have a DD, frens! And have them drive your tipsy butts here for a heavy hauler to warsh down all the Happy Dads or whatever y'all drink nowadays.)
Wth are you still reading this review for? Go to the Whately Diner already! (PS that is and always will be what it's actually called. Place is a local legend.)”
“Randy did an amazing job washing our car before it even went into the auto-wash. He was very professional, hard working, his attention to detail and car knowledge was noticeable, and he should be tasked with teaching others about excellent customer service!”
“The food was great, the service was great as well. I found everything that I needed and the place was clean and I recommend if anyone is driving by, consider stopping in you won't regret it. Thank you.”
“The man with the Mohawk who I believe is named Nick was very rude and unpleasant. He was not wearing his mask and yelled at my friend and I because “we were taking to long” even though we were just in there for under 5 minutes. Great store though and has everything! The other employees are amazing.”

Thank you for being so incredibly awesome to your customers. If you need gas or anything from the store do yourself a favor & stop into Joe's Easthampton, MA 7-11.”

“Gina is literally the most patient technician I have ever met. Always kind and goes above and beyond. She is personable with all her customers and makes them feel seen, which is hard to do these days. Honestly all the staff is great. Bianca and Natyla are also great pharmacists.
Walgreens treat your staff better, stand up for them because staff like them are rare... Appreciate them while you have them and show them a little more value. They are working extremely hard with the closing of Easthampton and you as a corporation need to acknowledge that. Do better to your staff Walgreens.”
“Neighbors Convenience Store in Ashfield offers more than just essentials—it’s a warm and welcoming stop nestled in one of the most picturesque regions you could dream of. Surrounded by lush woods, the town truly shines in autumn when the trees burst into golden and fiery colors. It’s the perfect backdrop for a store that feels just as homey, honest, and comforting.
Inside, the store is clean and thoughtfully arranged, with a solid selection of snacks, drinks, essentials, and the occasional batch of homemade baked goods. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s the kind of place that quietly offers everything you didn’t know you needed.
But the real treasure here is the people. Rae, the cashier, is warm and quietly attentive—her calm professionalism and kind-hearted presence make you feel instantly at ease. It’s the kind of quiet care that lingers after you leave, like the glow of a firefly-lit evening.
And then there’s Jewel—oh, Jewel! What a heartwarming presence. Always there, always smiling, always ready with that bright country charm that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into something timeless. His beaming smile gives the store its pulse, and it’s comforting to see familiar faces like his behind the counter. That consistency builds trust and connection makes the hilltowns feel like the little nestles and nooks in the hills that call us home.
On my most recent visit, Jewel waited with patience and care as I browsed, only restocking after I’d made my selection—a small gesture, but one that speaks volumes about his attentiveness and respect for others. It’s clear he’s someone who leads with grace and kindness, whether or not he wears a manager’s title.
With such dedicated and thoughtful staff, Neighbors is more than just a store—it’s a small piece of the soul of Ashfield. If you want a glimpse of what makes Western Mass special, stop by and meet your Neighbors. You’ll walk away with more than groceries—you’ll walk away with a little more peace.”

“Great service, great product selection,.. friendly, efficient and helpful and always show genuine customer care and assistance in the pharmacy or within the shopping areas.. Highly recommended..”
“Been going here for over 10 years. They have a couple of my rxs in a brand that's safe for me. (Lots of allergies & sensitivities, which is tiresome to deal with IRT getting safe meds.) I love the drive-through.
They went through a rough patch due to Corporate refusing to staff up or enlarge the pharmacy, which had gotten too popular for the size. That was pre-pandemic and early lockdown, I think. Got my regular rxs elsewhere until that settled down.
Now I'm back. Very relieved to be -- I know Mohammed and the other pharmacists & staff will be diligent, careful, kind, and thorough. I trust them to get it right *and* to be civil and professional about it. (Unlike my recent pharmacy, bless their hearts.)
For most non-pharmacy stuff, Stop & Shop is across the street and Wally's World is a mile up the road. For real medication support and care, this is my place.”
“New management, the store is nice , sells everything and prices outbeat the Hatfield country store.Update: over priced. I dread coming here lol they over charge for everything. Can drive 5 minutes away and get better deals. Greed kills business”

“Fantastic selection of sour candies (chocolate too if that’s your vibe). We were able to purchase and compare sour punch straw “bites” versus the original straws. The bites are thicker and the sour taste lingers on the tongue longer while the original are thinner with a thicker sugar coating and overall sweeter flavor. I personally prefer the original as they are lighter on the stomach and a less intensely rich mouth experience. My roommates prefer the bites though. To each their own.
The cashier was friendly and helpful. The checking out experience was a bit awkward because the check out kiosk asked for my phone number before proceeding. The cashier explained that I didn’t have to type it in. I did not wish to, but it was unclear how to bypass this question, so there was a long silent exchange between the cashier and me before I figured out that I could just bypass it by inserting my card into the reader.
Overall excellent energy and great service at this local Cumbies.”

“I stop at this Circle K often as it's midway on trips I make to and from White River Jct, VT. Always pick up a sandwich, usually the jalapeno cheeseburger, which is excellent. Last time there, I also got a $100 winning scratch ticket, which was nice, too.”
“I Love ? every Cumberland farms stores they have the best coffee and anything else u could need especially if it is a super cumby's they had the best price on coffee til they fffed it up like they are hurting for money 1.05 that is what the franchise advertised for ever and I think ? the commercial's said .99 cents any size at your Cumberland farms store location near you I mean really your hurting that bad you had no choice but to raise the coffee price by .29 cents how petty especially with everything ??? going threw the room but on thing I always looked forward to was my .99 cents coffee and I know I'm not the only person who feels this way ????”

“This place does a brisk business for good reason: Hot coffee, clean bathrooms, and nice staff. We rely on this regional chain in our small community with no grocery store. Also, Cumbies offers refill discounts on ANY container up to 40 ounces, so I bring my own mug and avoid plastic waste. Great policy!”
“Owner of this establishment is excellent, unfortunately the employees take their jobs for granted, and do not operate the store per listed hours. Everything else about the shop is stellar.”

“I've been using this gas station for the past three years since moving to Easthampton. Their member pay system is amazing. You link your payment account to an app and once you drive up you can just press pay on your phone and pump. Plus you get free food and drinks for buying discounted gas that you needed anyways!”
“The pharmacist Becky has excellent customer service!
She’s has been wonderful helping me with my medication. I’d recommend this pharmacy to everyone.”
“Every visit to Cumberland Farms is made better thanks to the wonderful team, especially Madeline and Gwyne. Madeline, who’s been there a while, is an absolute delight. She’s super sweet, always helpful, and her genuine smile and sincere desire to serve others make her a true local treasure. It’s refreshing to know someone like her is representing such a picturesque part of Massachusetts and one of the area’s only gas stations!
Gwyne, a warm and lovely lady from Western MA, brings a down-to-earth kindness that makes every interaction a pleasure. It’s clear she loves her work, not just for the service aspect but because she genuinely appreciates the community and beautiful surroundings.
Pretty much all the employees (but I only remember Madeline and Gwyne's names), though, make coming to Cumberland Farms a delightful experience.
The store itself is well-stocked with a good variety of items, and the bathrooms are clean and well-maintained. It’s never too crowded, but there’s always a friendly flow of customers. I love their coffee, and the pizzas are a nice treat! My parents also enjoy the beef empanadas, which are surprisingly tasty for a convenience store.
I love living in Western MA when I can, and every part of this area—including this gas station—is like a refreshing, soothing breeze in my life!”
