St. Ambrose Cellars
841 S Pioneer Rd, BeulahWe almost didn't go. I've had mead many times and have never enjoyed it, but we were camping in the area, it was a Tuesday, and the other wineries and distilleries in the area were closed. Their loss!
We thoroughly enjoyed St. Ambrose. The wine selections were varied enough that my husband (a lover of big, bold red wines) and myself (a lover of off-dry & semi-sweet wines) were both happy.
The grounds are casual and comfortable - there's nothing pretentious about the place. Picnic tables and chairs offer plenty of place to sit outside and relax. More seating was available indoors. There were plenty of lawn games to keep everyone entertained, and a small building holding bee related products.
We enjoyed the place so much that we walked out with several bottles of the X.R. Cyser and a bottle of Illuminati, and were wishing we were in town that weekend for the barn dance.
