“Embassy Suites is one of my favorite places to stay no matter where they are. This one was nice. The free breakfast is always good with made to order omelets and pancakes. You can get scrambled eggs already made and there’s usually a good choice of meats pork and turkey sausage and bacon. Then there’s happy hour with two free drinks. I was here during the Holidays and the lobby was very nicely decorated”

“What an amazing stay. We wanted to be positioned for an early morning flight to begin our vacation. Well, our vacation started here! The decor an atmosphere is so elegant and relaxing. The dinner was fantastic. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The temperature control was perfect. The service was perfection. Can I say more. The Westin DTW is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! “Nice hotel with clean rooms and good prices. It is your standard courtyard experience. The staff is nice and the overall atmosphere is friendly. On this trip, the restaurant staff was a little slow and a bit cranky. She was working alone however and it was a little busy so gave her grace. It was a good experience overall.”

“I setup a credit card authorization form for another guest to stay at this property so they didn’t have to use their credit card to check in. I even called a few days before check in to make sure the form was on file and everything was all set. When the guest I was suppose to pay for checked in, they requested the card used to make the reservation, which this guest did not have, so they had to use their own. After they checked out, I called the hotel to find out what happened and got an excuse about a note on file. I sent a form in and called to verify it was set up, I don’t care what the note says, you messed up. Then I was asked for the card that should have been charged, I told him he already had it on file, but they insisted saying it would be easier if I just gave it to him. I responded that it would have been easier if they didn’t screw this all up in the first place. Then the clerk said they would find it themself and hurriedly got off the phone with me. I was impatient and annoyed for sure, but they were lazy, ignorant, indifferent and incompetent. Don’t stay here.”

“Nice and accommodating. My family and I stayed a couple of nights and it was just what we needed. Would preferred them to washed their blankets and other things with something gentle for people with sensitive skin. Overall they are the best out of other motels around.”
“It’s definitely the best motel in the area on Michigan Ave. The price is super affordable and the rooms have comfy beds, hot water, good heat/ac and good cable. The owners are really nice people and are always understanding and accommodating. I’ve stayed here for weeks at a time and they have the best/cheapest weekly rates around. There’s a lot of other motels all up and down Michigan Ave and I will pick the paradise everytime!!”

“Came to this hotel from Canada for a work event. The room was nice. The location of the hotel left me questioning why there was no restaurant in the hotel. Although the did do a continental breakfast. There isn't much around the hotel to eat if you don't have transportation.Front desk staff was friendly. They made the room up while I was out. Seem to have done a good job with that.”

“Booked based on previous Delta hotel experiences in Canada. Expectations are a higher quality experience, well kept rooms, good restaurant on-site. Can't say it completely met our expectations. While it appears the site was renovated extensively, the doors to your room are still old, the elevator small, and the room was just okay. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean. Just felt dated, even with the renovations that were done. They do offer an airport shuttle, but we didn't use it as we were told we couldn't leave our vehicle there. Might be noisy for some as low flying planes frequent over this hotel on route to landing at DTW. Next time I think we would stay at another hotel that offers long term parking arrangements.”

“This location surprisingly exceeded my expectations!! First, it’s pet friendly with no fee! The rooms were clean, and the housekeeping staff was super nice and efficient. The rooms were a little dated, but very much livable and clean. The staff is super nice and have great communication. I would likely return to this specific location multiple times”
“Was looking for a weekend away and this place was perfect for that! The hotel on the inside and outside look completely renovated and modernized! The receptionist were extremely nice and accommodating and made for a very swift check-in. The lobby, the pool area, the gym and the rooms were extremely well maintained and clean! The pool and the hot tub were great! Plenty of towels available. In the room you could pull the shades for complete darkness. There was no disgusting comforter just tight white sheets with extremely fluffy pillows. You received two complementary waters! There is a safe and a refrigerator and a nice single serve coffee maker with tea and coffee pods. The bathroom was very contemporary. The gym is extremely spacious offering many types of cardio machines as well as free weights and lat pulldown machines. And it is 24/7. My one thought would be to have pool hours that open earlier than 9a. I can see that they probably do this late opening due to the fact that you can see the pool from the room balconies thus noise may become an issue for guests that overlook pool area.”

“It's a bit out dated ,and could really use some vacuuming and shampooing and new blinds .The bathtub had a catcher in it .it was full of old hair and gross stuff .other than that it's quiet ,safe ,there are no homeless or drug addicts in the parking lot at night .The owners are very kind .which is why I gave this motel 4 stars .I didn't give it 5 because it needs a thorough clean.There are no bugs at this motel .That is huge .Rooms are very nice ,very big .Gas station near by fast food within walking distance .”

“I feel like there should be a different category for a budget hotel that tries its best to look fancy. At the right price point, this is a good place to stay a night or two. It is right next to 75, so it's fairly convenient both to all the stadiums and the border. I don't know that you're going to get any closer without paying for parking.My room was right next to an interstate and railroad tracks, but I guess they had crazy good insulation, because I didn't notice either while I was trying to sleep. Nor did I get a lot of noise from outside the room on the hotel side. Now one thing that definitely won't be for everyone was the extremely firm mattress. I slept fine even on that, but keep that in mind when considering whether or not to book.”

“My first time ever being here I was invited to come to my friends room and crash for a couple days. I had an appointment set up to go to an inpatient rehabilitation center, in two more days, long story short when I got to the I quickly realized that the man Was'ent my friend at all not even close, I was being held against my will to wait for a flight to who knows where because I was being SOLD! HUMAN TRAFFICING AT ITS FINEST!AND THE OWNERS, THE OWNERS WIFE, ALL OF THE CLEANING STAFF, ANYONE WHO WORKED THERE OR HAS LIVED IN ANY OF THE ROOM FOR ALONG PERIOD OF TIME, THEY HAVE AND PLAY there own PART IN THE , picking the girls, getting them to the room getting them ready, for there flight, boat ride ,car ride, ECT.And I swear to you when I got outta that room I went to the front desk hystericaly crying, paniciing, afraid for my life! And I told him exact what had happen what was whappen or what was planned to happen, he proceeded to TELL ME (VERY DEEP,AND TRYING TO BE ANGRY SCARY, AND TOLD ME TO GET MYSELF BACK IN MY ROOM, AND STOP ExaggeratING ABOUT THE SITUATION! SO AFTER THAT WAS SAID I LITERALLY RAN MY VERY VERY FASTEST I EVER RAN TO THE CLOSEST GAS STATION FOR HELP , O YEA BECAUSE MY PHONE MYSTERY EARLY STOPP WORKING ALL TOGETHER! IT WAS ALL BLUE NO PHONE PERIOD! I' Was'ent the only women there but the other women was so freightened , hurt, and very very messed up on something? But refused to leave out of terror!!I did call police and went to the nearest hospital! And begged everyone to help her And to Tleast look into it please I never saw or heard nothing about her again!But I also haven't lived a decent normal safe life again since that day! IAM terrified for my life everyday, IAM followed, watched ,my bank account s my social medias my security locks on my house have all been hacked changed robbed ECT. And I am in constant fear of people, someone getting me off guard or getting in my home, my job ECT. And taken me ! Soo please be very very very safe and remember the people that you think are your bestest friend or nicest guy or girl is always the one who is the evilest!! BE SAFE! KEEP YOUR KIDS, WIFE, MOTHER, DAUGHTER ,SONS ,HUSBANDS BROTHERS ECT SAFE AND VERY VERY CLOSE!”
“The owner Jay is very kind as is his wife. Very reasonably priced. Jay has integrity... He cleans the room of a guy with no legs daily without complaint or charging extra. If I need a couple hours to get the money he is understanding and never makes me feel bad about it... He shovels the snow himself for the whole property. Hard working,kind, respectful man. I snuck my dog in the first week or so I was here and when he found out he simply asked that I take her out back to do her business... Wasn't mad... No extra charge... Since then I have been up front and honest with him (if I need extra time to pay or whatever) and everything has been more than exceptional.”

“I Love staying here at the place it's better then the dang on Holiday inn. The management is so nice and kind. I fly all the way from Los Angeles,CA when I come home to visit I always have to stay at the Lamplighter because it's so comfortable and peaceful. I refer everyone to please at least come here and try it out it's a good place to be a comfort and to rest your mind. And also very clean must I say... A 10star in my book ?... I Love staying here ???”
“One of the best deals bang for your buck wise. The location was easy to get to, the hotel was very clean, great service, good continental breakfast, the room and bathroom was very clean. Not a huge fan of the smell of the cleaner for the bathroom or the pillows but I'm very picky and that seems to be a hotel wide issue, not just this hotel.”
“Honestly for how cheap it is, this is honestly a hella good place without the worry of bedbugs. (but always be cautious) it smell a little but it some thing you can fix and even tho housekeeping clean after evey guest i will still take cleaning supplies just to be sure. Room 11 air condition can be fixed because of heat it is blowing out really cold air while it really cold outside and anyone that lives after us in room 11 you should be personal happy because we bought our own supplies and clean the out of this place even tho it was clean and i pray when ever you get this room you or the before you does the same for the safety and satisfaction.”
