“Absolutely love this Orange Theory studio. They have awesome staff, coaches, and community that make working out really fun! Along with the community, Orange Theory provides opportunities for people to push themselves and find ways to continually improve both physically and mentally.

I’m always trying to get more people to come check out a class, and they have several promotions that make it easy and fun to check out. Orange Theory has genuinely improved my quality of life in the past year as I started going to classes”

“LOVE barre3 GR! After moving, I was hoping to find a new spot to workout and came across barre3. This is the perfect place if you're looking for positive, encouraging, functional fitness. There is not a single bad instructor and everyone from the barre3 team to other class members is so amazing. I recommend barre to everyone I know!!”

“I practiced at Fever way back when they just had hot yoga, but never fully committed to it. Now, beginning my fitness journey back up, I choose to go back to Fever. I absolutely love the variety of classes at convenient times that are easy to make work with a 8-5 job. I can’t say enough nice things about the trainers as well. Each one has been so kind and helpful that foster such a positive community. Love love love !! 💗”

“First time with Boxing lessons!! The staff and trainers were incredible I went by myself and felt right at home I’m 62 and there were people as young as 5 and oldest over 80. I’m ex military and it was an intense 30 minute workout. Reasonable prices and so worth the investment in your cardiac health. I have 2 replaced hips and they immediately found a stance I could be steady with. And punching something as hard as you can and not getting in trouble. Better stress relief than any pill I could take!! You work at your place and If you can’t do it exactly you can modify. I’m hooked after one class!! A lot of women and that inspired me a lot Kudos!!!”

Black Lion is the place to be simple as that.”

“I am a member at all 3 locations. Great gyms! I thought I'd show off the Grand Rapids location to a couple friends but..... $15.00 for a daily pass accompanied by a member is pretty steep!”

“I have never been to a gym like Burn Boot Camp! It truly is a community: a no judgment zone, it’s inclusive to everyone, and the trainers push you but are also helpful and kind. It’s so hard but it’s also for all levels! I leave happy every time.. and it’s so nice they have complimentary childwatch. I definitely recommend checking it out!”

“Some may argue that my review has been a few years too late, but after 3+ years at this facility, I have a better understanding.
When I learnt in October 2023 that Friction was moving from 4 mins away from my home to Wyoming, which would now require me to drive on the dreaded 28th street during rush hour, I considered looking for other gyms that were closer. However, none of them had a club program with multiple options like Powerlifting, Gymnastics etc. (There was only one other gym in the area which had a Barbell club). I made a calculated decision. Though I cursed under my breath multiple times while having my patience tested during the commute, I realized the greater good for my fitness needs, which Friction offered. I’m exclusively on a club membership now. I like the style of coaching class which consists of just merely a few (or even one) individual(s). I have availed of their in-house physical therapy and chiropractic services. Friction seems to be a one stop shop. They have visions for this facility. The future looks bright.”

“CrossFit Grand Rapids is wonderful. From the moment I walked in I was met with a warm welcome from a great group of people. This gym is serious about fitness and they focus on the right things here. The programming is fantastic, highlighting a varied amount of movements. The coaching is top notch, with actual demonstrations and teaching moments. The owner is enthusiastic and personable. And the jams are elite. I highly recommend checking this place out!”

“Joe and Sandi were SO gracious to allow my group of ER residents to rent out the space for a Murph workout! Such a beautiful and clean space! They were so accommodating and maintained great communication throughout the process. Thank you thank you thank you!
- Butterworth ED residents, 2025

Update: We returned again in 2026 to 8th Day Gym for the annual murph event for our residents and Sandi/Joe were as welcoming as ever. They provided the space and even stayed late passed business hours to allow us to complete the workout :) We will plan to return next year with even more participants! THANK YOU!”

“I’ve been training here a little over 90 days and just hit 50 sessions. I’m definitely feeling stronger, have more energy, and I’m starting to see real changes physically and mentally. One of the biggest things I’ve learned is how to stay consistent even on days I don’t feel motivated. The coaches are super supportive, encouraging, and really take the time to teach you everything so you feel comfortable and confident while working out. The positive environment has made a huge difference. Really glad I started.”

“The class size first and foremost was the best thing about our experience. For my kids to learn how to swim with only two other children was perfect, I hope the ratios never change! The patience of the instructor (and the sub instructor this week) was also such a great help. These two are really wonderful young women and have done so well with my kids, who are both Autistic and sometimes need a little extra. Thank you!”

“Update: added the fifth star based on SUPER FAST and understanding owner response. Just another reason to love this place!I've only ever been here for the free baby gym on Mondays, so I can only speak to the staff and facility that exist in those times and spaces.First off, let me just say that the free open gym for babies has been AMAZING for my kiddo's mobility development and my sanity. What an amazing resource for our community and every staff member I've spoken to there (albeit briefly and really only ever pleasantries) has been very kind and they actually seem to adore the children in the facility (something that can be rare in certain areas where children are present). The facility itself:There's a wide variety of equipment that simultaneously appears well-loved and well-maintained. The entire place is incredibly clean. From the front entry to the bathroom to the gymnasium itself, I've never been grossed out or suspicious about anything I've seen here. They also have vending machines (that take cards!) on site which has been an absolute life saver for me in the past when kiddo was hungry and I'd forgotten a snack.Baby time:I wish this was done more often or had additional time slots, but I understand that doing something for free takes time out of programs that could actually make the place money, so I understand why.On top of the gymnastics equipment that already exists in the gym full time, staff also brings out kid-oriented things like small slides, rockers, egg shakers, scarves, tunnels, etc. It's a full experience, they really go all out for these kids.So why 4 stars? The music. 90% of it is great! But that remaining 10% which always catches me off guard is Christian worship music, just sung by children's choirs so that it blends in with the other songs. It's not a Christian organization (as far as I'm aware), and the kids obviously aren't old enough to understand but it absolutely makes me feel "othered". I want to be clear, not a single staff member has ever pushed religion onto me and I've not witnessed it happening to anyone else. There's no signs or art about religion. This is just about the few songs that pop up. It's not a reason to boycott or avoid, but just something that staff could potentially alter to help out their anxious and diverse clientele.Overall, it seems like a great facility. We're coming up on the end of the age range for baby time and we may even continue with their 18m classes if there's room.”

“Great gym, great staff, great atmosphere! Been here for well over a decade and love being here. New management has always kept it clean and running great. Friendly and helpful staff who know what they are doing! Plenty of options for small group classes now because of the new day manager. Whether you're going to the gym for the first time or a veteran gym rat, this place is really good! Super friendly folks too, have had a few sour apples over the years , but I genuinely like how nice the people are here. Great gym community too.”

“Easiest 5 star review I’ve ever given. Every single person that walks in is welcome and becomes a part of the community. This gym has brought together people from SO many different backgrounds, all cheering each other on to success! There’s zero pressure to be or do anything, just healthy yet mild competition to push yourself to greatness.”

“We were there for a track meet. The track is a really good 200m track. It has plenty of rest areas and a nice scenic few of the woods. I was really hoping to see some deer or something.”

“Great gym that's ideal if you're a lifter and need 24hr access. Limited cardio and amenities for the price, though. Really wish they could get the showers finished and figure the music thing out. I'm a big edm fan but they play bad edm louder than your headphones can block.”

“Stopped in for two days over the holidays visiting family in Grand Rapids and picked up two day passes (nicely priced at $15, worth it!)

Owner is super responsive and helpful via DM/phone. Made sure I could get in the gym whenever I needed.

The facilities are perfect. It’s a well equipped gym, down and dirty with top tier equipment. Competition standard kilos, bumpers, speciality bars plenty of racks and platforms. Also very westside/conjugate friendly (huge plus for me) with nice bands and labeled chains.

Vibes were immaculate, great equipment and great communication. Thanks for the space this week see you next visit!”

“The best PF in the GR area. I’ve been to ALOT of PFs all over the state & this is by far the cleanest. The staff are always cleaning. Even down to inside the lockers! The employees here are great as well, knowing my name, which tanning bed I like etc. small stuff like this makes it!

I also appreciate their tanning/redlight machines are up to date. The hybrid is my favorite and not too many that I can find in the area have it.”
