“My experience at Hollywood has, for years, been 99.9% positive. Staff attitude & assistance, selection & quality of brands all “top op the chart”. My only real complaint is with the availability & maintainenance of the electric transport carts, for elderly & handicapped customers. The availability & maintenance of the carts at the Madison Heights store is “borderline acceptable” at best. There are currently only 2 carts available at this store, & both are of questionable reliability. Just this past Sunday, Dec. 3rd. , I was using the only cart in the store with a larger basket, having a larger shopping list to fill. I was two items short of completing my list, when the cart just stopped running. A nearly full charge was showing, but it simply would not move. I’ve had this happen a time or two before, but this time, I was at the back of the store, with a a VERY full cart.As in the past, staff was very helpful in resolving my problem, by getting the only other cart in the store, (a small capacity one), & got most of my order packed into it. This kind of assistance is greatly appreciated but, quite honestly, should not be necessary!! You have a good store, & it would be a smart move to insure that your elderly & handicapped customers are adequately provided for. From other businesses I have observed, it would seem reasonable to have at least 3 large capacity (fully functional) carts available to those of us who need them, at all times. If you place any importance on the elderly & handicapped customers you have, (and you certainly should), please correct this problem as soon as possible.”
“I spend a lot of money here. I come in to turn in my lotto tickets of like 100 $150. I’m on disability they only give me $30. Talked with John. He was making up for this. I just don’t think this should happen to people. He talked with the employee straighten things out.I still don’t like the part where they say they don’t make a lot of money at that store. I just want the truth I don’t like lies. That’s all I know you do and I don’t care how much you do that’s your business. But honestly $100 is nothing today.”
“Love the fresh food that they have in the mornings but you have to go early because they sell out very fast. Their in-house bread they make there is also amazing! Prices are fair. I'm always a returning customer here.”
“I've been a member since May 2020. Not to long ago from their grand opening. The people there are friendly. Most of the time items are stocked. Cheap gas is good as well. Parking plenty of it. The only pet peeved I have is that their café section is outdated. Their options for food are only hotdog, big chocolate chip cookie( imo is gritty and too much chocolate chips), salty popcorn and I think a pretzel. Other bulk stores have several kinds of pizza from all meat which is sausage bacon and pepperoni, or just pepperoni, pretzel pizza, cheese pizza, their hotdogs are way bigger than BJ'S, 3 different kinds of Sundaes, berry, caramel and vanilla. I'm talking Sam's club. Bj's needs to work on that.”
“Always well-stocked and organized.
I love the 15 minute parking spots for when I'm just running in for a moment. There are plenty of self-checkouts!
2025: lots of changes happening and they're for the best
2026: Renovations on the inside; even an upgrade to the Drive-Thru”
“I needed new tire pressure sensor installed. They installed ones that I bought and it took about an hour. The first set didn't work and they installed another set for me free of charge. Tony and the manager were really great about everything and very kind when I brought the vehicle back. Highly recommend these guys”
“Finishing my story......
I was happy when those ladies in the wheel chairs allowed me to tag along behind them, pushing a cart and grabbing the items they needed. It made me feel useless when they didn't need my help because out of all the people that came in acting helpless, these that clearly looked like they needed help, needed none. I look up to these ladies, SUPER STARS in book. But the moral of this long story....
Don't come in these stores being rude and nasty to retail workers. They are not robots, they have feelings too, treat them how you want to be treated. Treat the store's how you treat you home and how you expect visitors to treat your space. And know, some people really like working in retail but hate it because of the customers. If you came to shop, do that and don't expect the emplyees to do it for you. Your job is find what you came in for. Their job is to give you a smile, small convo, make sure the store is fully stocked, cleaned and recovered so your shopping experience is easy and quick. Quick not being, telling you where every item is on your list. Take a second and think about how you would feel to work 8 hours, 5-6 days a week and every 5 minutes you have to say yeah, let me show you, yeah aisle 4 in the back of the store. Just thinking about that drains me. And these workers are not getting paid what they are worth. Some are barely making $13 a hour. That's nothing compared to all the work they do daily. Let's not walk right in the door looking for a emplyee to ask where something is. Instead, let's walk in the door looking at signs and looking for a employee to day hi to and keep it pushing. When you come in these stores treat employees and the building with respect. You'll deal with happier emplyees, have a more pleasant experience, get items marked down without issues and leave happier. (If that what you came in for. Some come in for drama so I'm not talking to y'all. Be safe and have a good one everyone.”
“My friend brought me here and the tacos are amazing. By expectation, if you are walking into a convenience store and you see a restaurant inside, you already know the food is going to be amazing. You go up to the counter, pick what you want, and take a seat and your food will arrive. Simple, easy, tasty, will come again.”
