“All the positive reviews of this place are legit. I've been there about three and a half months and it has been a great experience and it has absolutely been worth every penny. Justin designs a workout for you based on your skill level and abilities, shows you how to do the workout and then monitors you as you do the workout on your own to give you constant pointers. It's almost like the very best parts of personal training without the annoying high pressure sales job. It's also a really great environment. Everyone at the gym is welcoming and friendly regardless of your abilities or experience. Cannot say enough good things.”

“I love Barre Code! I attend classes at the Royal Oak and Brimingham location. Love there are tons of options of classes and the Birmingham location has a Kid's Room which really helped me to get back into working out after having my daughter. The instructors and staff are always friendly and they really make a point to greet each person by name and get to know them. I also really appreciate that I may go to multiple Barre classes in a row and each one will be different, you are not just taking the same class on repeat.”

“I dropped in at New Species while I was in town for a week. The coaches and members made me feel welcome and it was so nice to have a place that felt a little bit like home. The entire community was friendly and supportive. I loved the warm-ups and programming, and their facility has everything you could need. I highly recommend this CrossFit gym, whether you are a new or experienced athlete. Thank you Marcella, Jake, Josh, and all the members who took a minute to say hello :)”

“Tiffany and Shane put together a great session for our 10u travel baseball team. Kept things new and fresh each week and our boys enjoyed the environment to push themselves to get faster and stronger for the upcoming season!”

“I've been a member of the Y since January, 2015. Since that time I've been impressed with the expertise of instructors, the friendliness of staff and the wonderful connections that the Y has with our community. It's always an enjoyable to be at the Y where staff knows my name and there's friendly people with whom I can have good conversations. In particular, I appreciate the classes that are available for seniors. Thank you, YMCA, for everything.”

“Great Place and great people! Nice gym with plenty of individual time spent on me! Niki is wonderful at knowing where you are in your training and will give you alternative options if you're sore or you are not there yet!”

“If you are a weight lifter looking to mix things up, I’d check out the classes here.My wife has been going to classes and personal training here for years. I recently started going with her to some classes and loved it.I’m a very “old school” lifter. I workout with heavy weights training 2-3 muscle a session and one of my favorite movies is pumping iron. I also enjoy running but never tried a circuit class. The circuit is really fun. I’d recommend not being afraid to modify things or not do every exercise. You can still get a solid lifting routine in if you tweak things, but the real benefits is it’s like smashing lifting and cardio together, so you get a great calorie burn compared to normal lifting. They also don’t yell or push you in odd ways which I appreciated (Thanks Valerie!). I expected the trainer to yell to go faster, harder, etc but no they just encourage you.If you are more an old school lifter like me. I’d recommend supplementing your schedule with 1-2 circuit classes a week. I burn about 600-700 calories per class and get a very good workout. Just give yourself 3ish classes to adjust, I’ve been lifting over 20 years and I was shocked at the amount of variety/moves I’ve never done. They have a 3 class for $15 special for new members. I’d encourage the owner to keep that special, since I think you need a few classes to get the hang of things. Also the place is super duper clean! Really like Retrofit and I think its great supplement for those into weight lifting.”

“Love Planet Fitness, in general. They are very reasonable for what you get out of the membership, but don't love this location as much as some others. It is in a prime area, so it tends to be busier, and they aren't open 24/7 like they used to be. The layout is kinda weird. You have to walk through machines to get to other machines and work out areas, not very spread out. The gym is always very clean, and the staff is always super friendly. They also just added some new equipment, as well.”

“I’ve come in here twice when visiting my family, they are so fun, professional and accommodating. The first time there were only 2 in the class, the second time I brought 10 family members to an already packed class of 30 for a Christmas gift. The instructors sold it, 100% whether they have a full or empty class. Very good people!”

“The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming!Non-judgmental employees at a gym are always something that shouldn't be taken lightly! They have a sauna and jacuzzi top with a clean pool!It does get pretty busy around 6-9 am and 4:00 to 7:00 pm.That a test to why this is a great choice for a gym”

“Now I can't personally say that I have ever been to this gym, but I can say I have personally delivered an order to the owners, and they are just the nicest people you'll ever meet! They are just so extremely kind, thoughtful, and understanding. Based on this alone, I would highly recommend joining this gym!”
