“When I was growing up, we only had this tiny shack of an Asian market so most of the time we would make regular trips to Korean grocery stores in Chicago. More recently, I kept hearing about this place so I had it bookmarked to check out the next time I was visiting family. Before we visit, my husband and I load up suitcase with non-perishable Asian goods since it's cheaper where we live. So the pricing was fairly fresh in our mind when we stopped by Pacific Rim. I was pleasantly surprised that most of the pricing was within a few dollars of what we paid in LA. I think if you need anything in a pinch, this is the perfect place. Although I have to say that the Sriracha was double the cost here, but that's pretty understandable. They have a wide variety of just about everything. Pho noodles, pad thai noodles, Korean style noodles, sauces, frozen goodies, sake, soju and veggies. It also looks like they rotate out their fresh produce with whatever is in season so it was nice checking to see whatever was new. Staff here is friendly and very helpful. Their restaurant always seems busy, so it'll be nice if they can one day expand and have a sit down spot at some point. It also seems like they rotate out some dishes so they can offer a variety. My mom really wanted to try their jjampong, but when we went to look for it, it wasn't on the menu. I'm so happy that Kalamazoo/Portage has better options now for Asian groceries and food.”

“I love this local, home town store. I've been shopping at one Hardings or another since I moved to Kzoo (depending on what side of town I was living). Yes, the prices are a little higher (I took off 1 star only for this reason) but they tend to stock some harder to find items (Mrs. Grass soup, the chop suey vegetables that don't have the disgusting little corn in them, molasses, etc.) & they are nowhere near as crowded as Walmart/Meijer. I believe they also give some people who are having a hard time employment when many other employers won't take a chance on them. Nice, lovely, local store! Also the baggers will take the groceries to your car for free (although tips are appreciated) if you need which is especially handy if you have heavy items & have a hard time lifting things or are disabled. Also if you bring your water jugs back they have refills on them for about 39 cents! The original jug will cost you about $1.50-$2.00 but the refill price makes this worth it. They also sell money orders for cheaper than the gas stations @ $1 each up to $500.Edited to add: Hands down the best meat out of all of the grocery stores around here. I only buy my hamburger at Hardings! Reasonable prices on meat for the quality of it.”

“Walked in to get the cinnamon rolls was told they sold all of them however the owner gave me a number to call the day before to order them. I will because I great they are delicious. It was clear that my needs did not fit his job description, so he asked his manager's permission to help me. His technical skills were just what I (a tech challenged senior citizen) needed to get connected. His courtesy and willingness to go the extra mile reminded me of my earlier years when customer service was routine and not the exception. He could have simply forwarded me to another area but he didn't. Thank you joe! He needs a raise. Good worker. Very polite!”
