“My husband I have been going here for years just get a couple nights away from the kids. We get the Jacuzzi suite and Love it. Staff is friendly, rooms are decent and they have a bar and restaurant so that's nice too. Wish it would get updated a bit but overall we Love this place and never stay anywhere else.”

“Embassy Suites is one of my favorite places to stay no matter where they are. This one was nice. The free breakfast is always good with made to order omelets and pancakes. You can get scrambled eggs already made and there’s usually a good choice of meats pork and turkey sausage and bacon. Then there’s happy hour with two free drinks. I was here during the Holidays and the lobby was very nicely decorated”

“My family and I stayed here because we were going to a Red Wings Game. At first glance, you can tell it's an older hotel. But don't let that fool you, it is upkept very well! The staff is friendly and helpful. We stayed on the third floor, when we first got there it was a little confusing on how to maneuver around because it's pretty big! But everything is connected. The only complaint I have throughout our whole stay is that the pool had a hole in the floor with loose shards around it. Our room was spectacular, and big! When we come to the area again I definitely plan to stay here.Food & drinks: Their breakfast is wonderful! And the food from the bar was very good as well.”

“What an amazing stay. We wanted to be positioned for an early morning flight to begin our vacation. Well, our vacation started here! The decor an atmosphere is so elegant and relaxing. “I’ve been here since August- and it’s February. Pretty much the same people stay here. Who work, and take care of there families. It’s quiet, always. Which is amazing. Apartments aren’t even this quiet. The management here is outstanding! Had a couple weeks where money was rough. They worked with me, the manager even gave me a complimentary night due to a misunderstanding. I’ve never had any issues with anything, the first couple days here the toilet flooded, and the hotel manager on site came and moped it up. They have been putting this place back together. I have never seen a bed bug. I wish I had a bath tub in my room it’s just a shower. The heat is definitely warm, and summer your own personal window air conditioning. Besides an occasional battle for hot water while in the shower. It’s really a great place for the cost. They don’t tolerate any nonsense here and will ask people to leave if they aren’t following the few rules they do have. The management live on the property with there children and will do everything they can to accommodate you.”

“It’s definitely the best motel in the area on Michigan Ave. The price is super affordable and the rooms have comfy beds, hot water, good heat/ac and good cable. The owners are really nice people and are always understanding and accommodating. I’ve stayed here for weeks at a time and they have the best/cheapest weekly rates around. There’s a lot of other motels all up and down Michigan Ave and I will pick the paradise everytime!!”

“For an airport hotel, this is a nice choice. The rooms are newer, and the rooms are spacious. Just heard to give 5 stars to an airport location given that it's by the airport. Have I said "airport" enough? ”

“Vegetarian options: They have a falafel sandwich that’s amazing honestly, and the hummus, baba ghanouj, and the broccoli cheddar soup were delicious apatizersDietary restrictions: They have vegan options, vegetarian options, and have delicious meat options.Parking: Big parking lot, kinda full but there’s stil plenty of spots to useKid-friendliness: I brought my little cousin with me and he loved the the tenders and the sliders, he also said the waiter was so nice to him and he wants to come back.Wheelchair accessibility: They have single tables that you can take the chair out and park the wheelchair there, and there aren’t any stairs to access the dining area.”

“Was looking for a weekend away and this place was perfect for that! The hotel on the inside and outside look completely renovated and modernized! The receptionist were extremely nice and accommodating and made for a very swift check-in. The lobby, the pool area, the gym and the rooms were extremely well maintained and clean! The pool and the hot tub were great! Plenty of towels available. In the room you could pull the shades for complete darkness. There was no disgusting comforter just tight white sheets with extremely fluffy pillows. You received two complementary waters! There is a safe and a refrigerator and a nice single serve coffee maker with tea and coffee pods. The bathroom was very contemporary. The gym is extremely spacious offering many types of cardio machines as well as free weights and lat pulldown machines. And it is 24/7. My one thought would be to have pool hours that open earlier than 9a. I can see that they probably do this late opening due to the fact that you can see the pool from the room balconies thus noise may become an issue for guests that overlook pool area.”

“This was our first time using Minute Suites. We had a 5 hour layover on our way back to Tampa from Korea, so we called them to find out where they were located and if they had availability. Tina was the most helpful person you could ask for, and she gave me all the details, as well as helped us get the room booked. We were even able to check in a bit early. My only complaint was, it's a little noisy as this is right underneath the tracks for the indoor shuttle. But it was nice to take a nap for a couple hours after you've been traveling for 20 hours straight.”

“I feel like there should be a different category for a budget hotel that tries its best to look fancy. At the right price point, this is a good place to stay a night or two. It is right next to 75, so it's fairly convenient both to all the stadiums and the border. I don't know that you're going to get any closer without paying for parking.My room was right next to an interstate and railroad tracks, but I guess they had crazy good insulation, because I didn't notice either while I was trying to sleep. Nor did I get a lot of noise from outside the room on the hotel side. Now one thing that definitely won't be for everyone was the extremely firm mattress. I slept fine even on that, but keep that in mind when considering whether or not to book.”

“My first time ever being here I was invited to come to my friends room and crash for a couple days. I had an appointment set up to go to an inpatient rehabilitation center, in two more days, long story short when I got to the I quickly realized that the man Was'ent my friend at all not even close, I was being held against my will to wait for a flight to who knows where because I was being SOLD! HUMAN TRAFFICING AT ITS FINEST!AND THE OWNERS, THE OWNERS WIFE, ALL OF THE CLEANING STAFF, ANYONE WHO WORKED THERE OR HAS LIVED IN ANY OF THE ROOM FOR ALONG PERIOD OF TIME, THEY HAVE AND PLAY there own PART IN THE , picking the girls, getting them to the room getting them ready, for there flight, boat ride ,car ride, ECT.And I swear to you when I got outta that room I went to the front desk hystericaly crying, paniciing, afraid for my life! And I told him exact what had happen what was whappen or what was planned to happen, he proceeded to TELL ME (VERY DEEP,AND TRYING TO BE ANGRY SCARY, AND TOLD ME TO GET MYSELF BACK IN MY ROOM, AND STOP ExaggeratING ABOUT THE SITUATION! SO AFTER THAT WAS SAID I LITERALLY RAN MY VERY VERY FASTEST I EVER RAN TO THE CLOSEST GAS STATION FOR HELP , O YEA BECAUSE MY PHONE MYSTERY EARLY STOPP WORKING ALL TOGETHER! IT WAS ALL BLUE NO PHONE PERIOD! I' Was'ent the only women there but the other women was so freightened , hurt, and very very messed up on something? But refused to leave out of terror!!I did call police and went to the nearest hospital! And begged everyone to help her And to Tleast look into it please I never saw or heard nothing about her again!But I also haven't lived a decent normal safe life again since that day! IAM terrified for my life everyday, IAM followed, watched ,my bank account s my social medias my security locks on my house have all been hacked changed robbed ECT. And I am in constant fear of people, someone getting me off guard or getting in my home, my job ECT. And taken me ! Soo please be very very very safe and remember the people that you think are your bestest friend or nicest guy or girl is always the one who is the evilest!! BE SAFE! KEEP YOUR KIDS, WIFE, MOTHER, DAUGHTER ,SONS ,HUSBANDS BROTHERS ECT SAFE AND VERY VERY CLOSE!”

“The owner Jay is very kind as is his wife. Very reasonably priced. Jay has integrity... He cleans the room of a guy with no legs daily without complaint or charging extra. If I need a couple hours to get the money he is understanding and never makes me feel bad about it... He shovels the snow himself for the whole property. Hard working,kind, respectful man. I snuck my dog in the first week or so I was here and when he found out he simply asked that I take her out back to do her business... Wasn't mad... No extra charge... Since then I have been up front and honest with him (if I need extra time to pay or whatever) and everything has been more than exceptional.”

“I thought this hotel served its purpose. The location wasn't anything exciting but it wasn't bad either. The room was fine though the wifi was a bit quirky. The breakfast was ok.Walkability: This is not in a walkable area. There is a freeway right nearby.”

“Very clean, great location outside of Detroit.on second visit I was disappointed, checked in late and was out in a room that had no heat, the unit was busted up all the controls were broken and the front desk didn't want to switch rooms, I think they were getting ready to end the shift and didn't want to be bothered with it. It was 30ish degrees in the room and I had to wait and call 3 times before they switched rooms. Second room was also cold and the heater was also busted up but worked. No coffee at 9 in the morning. Overall the stay sucked and I won't do it again.Rooms: Very clean, updated recently.”

“I Love staying here at the place it's better then the dang on Holiday inn. The management is so nice and kind. I fly all the way from Los Angeles,CA when I come home to visit I always have to stay at the Lamplighter because it's so comfortable and peaceful. I refer everyone to please at least come here and try it out it's a good place to be a comfort and to rest your mind. And also very clean must I say... A 10star in my book ?... I Love staying here ???”

“Helped a homeless man get a room when it was snowing and freezing outside, looked as if he couldn't make it another mile. He suggested the mel plaza, after I got the keys I looked in the room as he mentioned they were pretty nice, and they were! Seemed like a great buy, and I am really happy I could help! The lady wasn't sure what was going on, but seemed very sweet and understanding. Thank you!”

“I stay here off and on for work and I love it here, I won't go anywhere else!! The staff is beyond friendly Kenya is beyond amazing and will make sure everything is tooken care of correctly. The house keeper Linda is so polite and charming and puts a smile on her every day and she makes sure everything is clean to a ten. Ken the maintenance man is beyond good people I had a light go out and he literally was there in seven minutes with great conversation. Carlos, he works at night and he is a very kind young man. I honestly rate the hotel a ten . Even the other guests are very nice people and is animal friendly which is a plus, also is a elevator for us old folks.”

“I stayed one night here and despite the low/negative reviews, I want to say I had a fantastic experience. My room was clean overall and I would give it a 9/10. The one point deduction is only due to the normal and minor updates of the room that the hotel needs to make (which it looks like they are). Although spoken about in other reviews, I did not have experiences of any form of bugs in my room and definitely not roaches (and this was with me eating and snacking in my room heavily). The hotel also let me check out late and housekeeping didn’t knock on my door before the checkout times (which can’t be said for other hotels). When it comes to a hotel near the airport, I will choose here next time! It was super quiet besides the planes ✈️.”
