“Great place for price and location, staff was very nice and met the owner, he came to our truck and used his own jumpers to start my truck when I left my lights on all night, stand up guy with clean rooms and good staff”
“Had to stay there tonight was cold and aggravated and the woman Megan was such a sweetheart she was very professional ,kind and helpful inwas passing through and she pointed me in the direction of a good place to eat and even printed directions I will definitely be back 5 stars !!!”
“I stayed here with my wife and kids while visiting scenic downriver. I forgot my alarm clock which could have spoiled the entire vacation. Luckily, the hourly wake up calls courtesy of the Southgate Police Department saved it. The many second-hand stores in the area made shopping easy and inexpensive. If you're willing to eat nothing but Little Caesar's for the time you are there, it will fall within anyone's budget. Plus, it's hooker adjacent.”
“Man, we always dig a Hampton. On this occasion, we were driving a friend to the Detroit airport for an early flight, so we all had a nice meal at Leonardo's and spent the night close by.
The dude at the desk went out of his way to put our rooms next to each other. We would have been fine, but he insisted.
Our room was a king suite - ooh la la! Kind of a strange layout. The bed was sideways with our feet facing the window. And the space between the bed and the window was taken up by a couch, which I think was a pull-out. No side table or coffee table for the sofa. There was a round table instead of a desk. And a pretty nice upholstered office chair. None of these things matched in looks or in function. I ended up dragging the table over to the couch to set my drink on. And I used the office chair as an ottoman. There was an enormous tv hanging on the wall. We watched Clueless.
The beds at Hamptons are always comfy. The pillows are usually great, too. Both being true at this location, I slept so soundly that my wife had to nudge me when my alarm went off in the morning.
A possible downfall of any hotel is the water pressure. Many don't have enough to blast the shampoo out of my thick hair. This Hampton location did okay. Our bathroom was very clean. Our towels were neatly arranged.
Hamptons have free breakfast, which almost always includes 2 or 3 hot items, bread and bagels with appropriate spreads, hard-boiled eggs, a make-your-own waffle station, yogurt, oatmeal, some kind of fruit, and pastries & muffins. Plus juices, coffee, and milk. Today's location also had almond milk. I had a little premade omelet thing, a couple of slices of processed ham, and some pretty good home fries. A couple of notches above adequate.
The kind woman at the desk this morning helped me get back into our room to retrieve our leftovers from dinner. Very gracious and helpful.
Overall, this one's a keeper.
Really nice”
