Carver Scott Humane Society
822 Yellow Brick Rd, ChaskaWe recently adopted our incredible dog, Denahi—now renamed Monty—from the Scott County Humane Society, and I cannot recommend this organization enough! From start to finish, they exceeded all expectations. Their team is passionate about connecting pets with loving families, and their process is seamless and thoughtful.
Unlike other private nonprofit rescues we’ve worked with, where communication could take weeks or applications seemed like an endless waiting game, Scott County Humane Society was incredibly responsive. Their focus is clearly on finding the best fit for both the pets and their adopters. We’re experienced pet owners with a great application, but with other organizations, we still faced delays or even had dogs adopted out from under us while we waited. That was NOT the case here.
We met Monty through their well-organized meet-and-greet system at a neutral park, ensuring that our dogs could meet in a stress-free environment and that we could see if his personality was a good match for our family. Spoiler alert: it was! We fell in love instantly, and shortly after, we received the email confirming that Monty had found his forever home with us.
I also love the fact that Scott County Humane Society places their animals in foster homes rather than keeping them in kennels. While I initially missed the idea of seeing the dogs in a centralized facility, I quickly realized how much better this system is for the animals. They’re in loving homes, not cages, which makes for well-socialized and happier pets.
This organization is a breath of fresh air compared to others we’ve dealt with in Minnesota. It’s clear that they genuinely care about making a difference and aren’t just going through the motions or working the system. Thanks to them, Monty has been the perfect addition to our family, and we couldn’t be happier.
We will absolutely work with Scott County Humane Society again in the future, and we’re proud to support their cause through donations. If you’re looking for an honest, compassionate rescue that truly puts the animals first, this is the place to go. Thank you for everything!
Just an update Monty has become a proper sir! And graduated Advanced training. Thank you again Carver Scott Humane Society!
